good morning. hundreds of thousands of fans packing downtown oakland right now to celebrate the golden state warriors. we have live team coverage of the dubnation celebration right here on mornings on 2. we want to take you right to the start of the warriors parade route. this is near 11th and broadway and everybody decked out. >> oh really. >> we've seen some really, really fun warriors here. leg warmers and antennas. >> yellow pants. >> you're a real fan when you have yellow pants. we're counting down to the parade to celebrate the new nba champs. >> babies are out too. >> it doesn't get under way for another four hours so fans already picking out their spots. >> it's smart to pick out a spot. >> absolutely. and hopefully brought some snacks and activities for the

kids. >> they need to listen to steve to take a jacket or a sweater but folks seem to be okay now. >> i think so. thank you for joining us i'm pam cook. >> good morning, i'm dave clark. this is a day to celebrate tori campbell who retires today so all during mornings on 2 we will be praising and celebrating in a lot of different ways tori. >> we is surprises for everybody and tori. >> steve has your forecast right now. >> no surprises. no fog and then sun. pretty typical here. we had a cool down yesterday and it looks like for the parade people have been listening. although if you are far enough inland there is fog. temperatures look like they will warm up some after yesterday's dip in those temps. it will start to burn off. if not by 10:00 then certainly by that. temperatures jump up from the 50 to 60s. some of that low clouds and fog but it looks like it's starting

to get chewed up to the north. 50s and 60s and 40s. 45 cool degrees at santa rosa. 51 in san francisco. water temps are still cold. west, southwest fairfield. almost gusts to 30. we'll see if it continues to decrease or hold steady. today it does look a little warmer. warm to hot if you are far enough away. so 80s to near 90 but 60s by the water. he's been there since 4:00 this morning and now the crowds are getting bigger aren't they sal? >> reporter: they are getting bigger. here it is just after 6:00 and people keep streaming in. now the parade route is two miles long. you can see we're panning over to the stage where everyone is going to be where the warriors are going to be. you can also see some people walking by. so a lot of people are already here at the parade route at the end on the stage where steph

curry and clay thompson and andre iguodala and andrew and livingston and bar bow is a the whole thing. but they will all be here after they ride through the streets of oakland. this is the first professional team parade that oakland has had since 1981 when the raiders won. that is a long time ago. so obviously people are really ready. if you are going to get down here, the best way to do it is take public transportation. i also want to check the traffic for you now. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza. the traffic is moving along very nicely. it's a little slow at the toll plaza but it's not too bad on the bridge. you will see the metering lights have been turned on and it's the usual slow traffic traffic here. moving along to interstate 880 the traffic near oakland looks good. southbound 880 near whipple there is a stalled bus causing a little bit of stalled traffic. i have a feeling today will be somewhat of a different traffic day around the bay as we take a

live look at 280 in san jose. it does look pretty good in downtown san jose. let's come back to a live picture we have at oakland's lake merit. there is the courthouse. there is lake merit and here we are at the henry j kaiser convention center and people are getting ready. we were here at 4:00. there were people here before us. so make sure you come out here with plenty of patience with a good attitude and prepare to have fun. now let's go to brian flores who is near the 12th street bart station. what does it look like where you are? >> reporter: boy a lot of smiling faces out. we are here at broadway. one of the fans jumping on top. a lot of warriors fans out here. we're having a lot of fun. you mentioned if you see the floats or duck boats, that you know going to the water that is

one of them right there. you see a lot of the floats. yeah there it is. see it? >> thank you. >> yeah very nice. very cool. the floats getting lined up here along 11th street again near broadway and a lot of the fans have set up here. take a look at this 37 this is pretty impressive already for about 6:00 in the morning. and if you take bart, a lot of people -- a lot of the fans have taken bart. bart is expecting a record ridership half a million people expected to take bart today. must use the 12th street or 19th street bart stations when they leave. and passengers boarding the trains must use the lake merit station. northbound san francisco will not stop at the lake merit station. but a bart spokesperson not expected to be here later this morning. he is also very excited about the warriors team as well. check out this atmosphere.

in charleston last night mourners remembered the nine victims of the attack including the church's pastor. among the other victims high school coach, a college counselor and library manager and range in age from 26-87. here in the bay area religious leaders are reacting to the charleston church shooting at seoul's restaurant there was a monthly meeting of church leaders that just happened to come the day after the shooting at that charleston ame church. the shooting is a reminder that racism is alive in america. >> the very fact that they continue to fly a confederate flag speaks to the mentality of some of the leadership of that state. >> the pastor says while they do have some security --

a water park in antioch is being investigated. firefighters and paramedics and 18 ambulances rushed to that water park yesterday afternoon. 34 kids complained of breathing problems and sore throats. 17 of those children were taken to the hospital. hazmat team was called in to inspect the pool. >> as far as what we found we found nothing that could be consistent with the victims. >> county officials say pool water samples did show higher chlorine levels but they say it wasn't high enough to make so many kids sick. the water park pool where the children were playing it has been closed. donations are pouring in for the victims of the berkeley balcony collapse and their families. a go fund me account has brought in close to $140,000.

surveillance video. this is from the sun glass hut back on may 19th. you can see the women. they are looking at glasses and then they slip them into a bag. police say they were only in the store for about a minute before they walked out. and then you can see one woman shove a store employee who tries to keep them from leaving. >> no lack of remorse. no, they don't care. they walk in for one purpose and that is to steal. >> the women appear to be between 16-20 years old. they are 5'5" weighing about 150 pounds. if you recognize them, call san francisco police. for the second year in a row, the number of vehicle thefts in california has dropped. according to a report released by the chp, vehicle thefts decrease by nearly 7% in 2014. 2% in 2013. 20% of all vehicle thefts in 2014 took place in five bay area counties. officials say most of the vehicles stolen last year were successfully recovered. the most popular vehicle for

thieves the honda accord. the two convicts that broke out of a prison in up state new york now they have been added to the marshals list of the 15 most wanted. they broke out of the clinton correctional facility two weeks ago. while the man hunt is focused on an area near the prison, the search has reached all the way to the canadian and the mexican borders. investigators have cleared now the husband of the prison worker who is charged with helping them break out. prosecutors say the husband did not know about the escape and that his wife later warned him the inmates were free and had plotted to kill him. now sweat and matt are not the only inmates still on the loose after breaking out of prison. the associated press conducted a coast to coast survey. they found they are now more than 130 escapees who have not been found.

some of the prisoners have been missing for decades and they include an admitted killer who crawled through the ventilation ducts of a prison in texas. also a killer in indiana who slipped out by hiding inside of a garbage truck. nearly 14 years after the september 11th attacks the transportation hub at the world trade center is near completion. when it fully opens later this year it will feature 11 subway lines. the path train to new jersey and several shops. the head of construction says it will be the grand central station of lower manhattan. the project was first budgeted at $2 billion but the cost is at $4 billion. a woman walked into a cvs store she had to use the restroom. she walked out the store a multimillionaire. her name is jennifer daniels. she says before she left the cvs store she bought a $20

and there is the stage where the warriors will eventually come up and accept awards. give speeches that sort of thing after they go on their two mile parade so this is all happening here at the end of the parade route and there are all kinds of people working through. so people will get down here. the let's go out and take a look at the golden gait bridge. how are you, sir? once you get on to that bridge it does look pretty good. and then we will look at the east bay. for the most part the freeway system in the east bay not

showing a lot in the way of red. so i think a lot of people today will be doing different things. you know there it's a warriors parade. you know there is a conference. president obama will be here. it will be a tough day to be driving. my best recommendation is to use public transportation. the weather out here as we transition to steve a little cloudy. a little bit brisk. it's getting a little warmer though but just slightly as we head into steve. steve. >> yes, sal you touched on that earlier. with that westerly breeze it is cool. it looks like very typical june weather if you are far enough inland. our east bay tree was ruffling a little more in the breeze yesterday. for some well enough inland it's a tall order this time of year to cool down. 59 at 10:00 a.m. but we will go 66 at noon.

getting into san francisco. there are no major problems getting into san francisco. we're also looking at the san mateo bridge if you're driving over no highway 92 or the other way around. eastbound 92 is the east bay. it doesn't look that bad. we do have to report on a crash. eastbound 580 in the altamont pass as you drive out toward tracy there is an injury accident there. it could be also causing some slow traffic on 580 westbound. but of course everyone here is getting ready for the warriors but i'm not the only one out here. tara moriarty is just a little bit down the road here and she is also i would imagine with some warriors fans. >> reporter: yeah i'm hearing a lot of people cheering and i wonder if they're cheering for you sal or the warriors. sal has been the man out here at lake merit. joining me right now are two professional tailgaters. they do it right. look where we are.

all the action here on if if across the bay in san francisco president obama will arrive this afternoon for the u.s. mayor's conference. it starts today. janine de la vega is joining us from san francisco to tell us what he is doing here and other highlights from the event. >> reporter: the event kicks off here at the hilton union square in san francisco. police and their canines have been out here throughout the morning inside we know federal agents are tightening up security for the president's arrival. president obama is expected to arrive at sfo at 1:00 p.m.. he will be the keynote speaker at the u.s. mayor's conference. they will be addressing topics such as water conservation, transportation, education, technology, and community policing. while the president is in town, he will be attending two

fundraisers. he was at one in beverly hills last night where he acknowledged his struggles. hillary clinton will be in town she is attending a fundraiser at a home of a real estate broker. the city is going to be full of politicians, lieutenant governor gavin newsom, congresswoman nancy pelosi and oakland mayor libby schaaf is scheduled to attend but guessing that she's going to be in oakland for the parade with the warriors this morning. pam. >> all right. busy. the ride share companies uber and lift they are among the sponsors of the mayor's conference. cab drivers are accusing the ride sharing companies of quote buying them off. a taxi worker group says the mayors will be wining and

dining on the ride shares dime. on monday the mayors are scheduled to tour uber headquarters in san francisco. cab drivers plan to protest outside uber's offices. other sponsors of the mayors conference include google and kaiser. time is 6:40. in other news this morning the suspect in the charleston church shooting masker he is scheduled to be -- massacre he is scheduled to be in cart today. he was arrested after a woman driving to work spotted him and his car and called police. roof is accused of killing six women and three men at a church bible study. people who know roof talked about doing something because he said blacks were taking over the world. there is a new twist in a staffing dispute we first told you about on monday. teachers and staff who are first told they would have to reapply for their jobs have now learned that they will not be allowed to return to that campus. the school district had told

parents it would fix problem with leadership by having all the teachers reapply for their jobs. however the association believed the interview process would not be fair to everyone so now it is asked the district to stop interviewing and just transfer everyone. >> i have never heard of an incident where they have treated teachers this way or negated the educational experience for the children and their parents. >> that is totally unfair. every one of these teachers is phenomenal. i don't know why this is happening. >> 25 teachers and 15 other staff members are effected. they will all be moving to other schools in the district. >> that is quite a story. >> it is. time is 6:41. an indictment surrounding a popular energy drink. why 11 people are facing very serious charges involving 5- hour energy. >> a hate crime in san francisco's mission district.

the parade gets under way at 10:00. fan loss be along the route for hours. we saw the group sitting up at 1:00 a.m.. we will have more live team coverage coming up. before the morning parade starts at 11:00. the team wants to build an arena in the mission bay neighborhood. brian sparkler announce a move to keep in oakland. to start new talks with the city of oakland. >> in the meantime a plan to build a new stadium for the raiders in los angeles is moving ahead now. the team's special advisor says organizers feel pretty good about that $2 billion project.

the raiders and the san diego chargers are proposing to share a stadium one that would be built in the city of carson about a half hour south of l.a.. in oakland a developer that wants to turn the coliseum area into a major redevelopment with retail housing and a new stadium he has a deadline of sunday to give the city and the raiders evidence that he's making progress. members of a san francisco latino community group concerned about hate in the mission district someone defaced a mural depicting gay, lesbian, transgender mural. the mural show addles bee january couple, a transgender -- the mural had sparked hate speech and threats on social

look at all of those ducks coming in. i think they are ducks any way. the waterfowl are here to see the warriors. in fact, we have almost completely crowded the lawn area here at lake merit across from the henry j. kaiser convention center. if you are coming down here, i would say there is plenty of room and you should get here soon and use public transportation. there is no place to park that is close. some of these good people have been walking in from quite far away. so they are all in a good mood. it doesn't really matter. but just remember not to bring your car. all right so i do want to mention we will take a look at highway 24 in the east bay. it does look okay. getting a little bit more crowded in some areas. you can see traffic is a little bit slow there as you drive through. i want to take a look at the

maps now. in the south bay area we don't have a lot going on when it comes to traffic. the traffic is moving along well on 101 and 85 and 280. sure there are a couple spots but for the most part there are no major problems. we're back here live and one of the things i want to do is tell you that if you're going to come out here today, be prepared to be standing around all day and until the warriors get to this spot which is at the henry j. kaiser convention center. that is the end of the parade right there but of course you know it will start on broadway. the last time they had a parade for a pro sports team was way back in 1981 when the raiders did it. it is time for the forecast. let's go to steve. >> sal, you're doing a fabulous job. know your waterfowls. those were geese. >> reporter: thank you very much. >> and if i don't watt the forecast right, my goose will
