good afternoon. i'm gasia mikaelian. we have developing news out of san anselmo. pg&e crews have just capped a gats leak. the line was hit by a third- party contractor at 9:00 on kensington court. skyfox was overhead. traffic had to be diverted this morning but roads are now reopened. neighborhoods are without gas. bizarre standoff in san jose is now over after police were able to coax a man down from a 90- foot tall crane. he had been holed up inside the

working box for about 14 hours. he finally climbed counsel at about 10:00 -- climbed down by 10:00 this morning. he was taken away by paramedics to be shutdown. the crane's power was shut down during the whole ordeal. >> he's despondent. at times incoherent. his sobriety is in question. that's what we know at this point. >> the man's been identified as 39-year-old alam scandar. police say he appears to be a transient. he's expected to be booked on suspicion of trespassing. the united states supreme court could rule this week on same- sex marriage. high court is set to rule on two cases dealing with the 14th amendment which addresses a person's rights and equal protection of the law. four states where same-sex marriages are banned, michigan, ohio, kentucky and tennessee. the supreme court will decide

of the teachers to ear schools. parents will be holding a rally at the school at 6:00 tonight demanning the teachers stay at west valley -- demanding the teachers stay at west valley. uber and lyft are among sponsors of the mayors' conference. cab drivers are accusing the ride sharing company of buying off the mayors. they also say they carried inadequate insurance, don't do background checks and pay their drivers low wages. the mater of madison, wisconsin will skip the tour today. police were called to sonoma and indiana street after 1:00 a.m. there they found a 32-year-old man arrive. he died after taken to the hospital. the name. victim is not being released until his family is notified. police are looking for evidence there at the crime scene but they want anyone who heard or

saw anything to contact investigators either directly or anonymously through solano crimestoppers. police say a flasher may be on the loose in the city. mercury news reports there were two incidents of a flasher in the brook vail neighborhood. both happened at the gateway shopping center. tuesday a woman told police she saw a flasher. then two days layer, another woman said a man in a parked car exposed himself. the car is described as a white, two-door 1990s honda civic. >> the man is described as latino unshave within a buzz cut. if you have information, call fremont police. the contractor who work odden the balcony in berkeley reportedly had to rebuild palkonys due to water damage. many suspect dry rot from water getting into the wood was a factor. the chronicle reports segway construction of pleasanton and a waterproofing subcontractor were sued in 2012 after

a suicide bomber killed at least two people near the afghan parliament building in kabul this morning. a large car bomb exploded near the out urwall of the compound as lawmakers were meeting inside. seven taliban gunmen tried to storm the building. security forces fought them off, killing all seven. a woman and 10-year-old girl were killed. no one inside the marleyment building was hurt. the florida man who flew

his gyrocopter over the white house refused a plea deal. he flew it right on the capitol lawn on tax day. he has sold the associated press he's rejected an offer that included significant jail time because it doesn't seem fair for an act of civil disobedience. police have ended a search fear pennsylvania for the two prisoners who broke out of the prison two weeks ago. a witness reportedly spotted them walking along a railroad line in the town of friendship in western new york. police say the sighting is not confirmed. the convicts have been on the run since june 6th. that's when they used power tools to break out of the clinton power facility. the main manhunt is in upstate new york. that's where police reportedly found dna evidence of two men in a hunting cabin. >> we've recovered specific items from the cabin. we've forwarded them to the appropriate laboratories and we

degree murder charge after investigators say he killed officer darryl holloway on saturday. bois was first taken into custody on friday for aggravated assault on a woman with a firearm. >> they turned him over to the day watch to transport him. >> reporter: holloway was in charge of transporting him. but police say in the car, he was able to shoot the officer. the officer crashed his unite and later died. besides holloway's fun, investigators found two others inside the squad car. >> one of the guns was a .38 revolver and then there was a .40 caliber weapon, a smith and wes on which was -- wesson which was believed to be used in this crime. >> reporter: harrison doesn't know how bois was able to be in possession of the guns. another question lingers, where

taking a live look at stocks here, the dow jones is up more than 100 points. in fact, nasdaq and s&p both doing well. just about half an hour until the markets close. more americans are buying homes and prices are going up. the median price climbed nearly 8%. the average price is now $1700 under the all-time high set back in july of 2006. the national association of realtors said of existing homes jumped 5%. it's the third year in a row the sales rate topped $5 million. that puts sales on pace for the best year since before the recession. you might have seen john sasaki in san francisco taking part in a celebration of
