that country's prime minister announced an attack on a gas factory was terrorist. there was a loud explosion. the body of a person that was decapitated was found outside the entrance, two men crashed a car into the entrance, triggering the blast, one attacker was arrested it's unclear what happened to the other suspect. it's believed they were carrying two flags with arabic indescriptions. we'll have more throughout the morning on two. a possible break in an 18-year- old cold case in oakland. an 18-year-old student disappeared while visiting the bay area in 1987. her family hired a private

investigator with a cadaver dog and that dog detexted -- detected in the base. -- basement of where she was staying. people in livermore are thanking firefighters for the quick work to save their home. it started at 4:00 in the area of tesla road. her neighbor called and told her about the fire. when she was home small patches of her property was still burning. >> i'm feeling happy that my horses and animals, there's a baby kitten inside that wouldn't have gotten out.

the fire burned 53-acres, another person's home was damaged in the fire but firefighters were able to keep it contained to the laundry room. >> a fire in the santa barbara area is still burning, it's burned 40 square miles and threatens more. evacuations are in place. before the flare-up it was 38% contained. now it is 21% contained. >> a criminal investigation into the deadly balcony collapse. six students died, seven were injured. city inspectors found dry rot from moisture in the wood beams. now the district attorney says all the evidence including the balcony is being examined. >> as with any criminal injury

see the weather conditions where it happened. the plane crashed through a short excursion, all eight passengers and captain were killed. three men in new york are talking about the up close experience with a 15-foot great white shark. they spotted a dead whale in the water, when they got a closer look they spotted the shark. they stuck a gopro in the water to get a closer look. the shark circled them before taking a few bites out of the whale. >> it was exciting. i couldn't believe it was happening. we got it on video. at one point the shark lung knowledged out of -- lunged out of the water toward the camera.

high pressure which was off of us yesterday will back off slightly. fog returns to the coast. more 90s now, not the 100s, come down five, 8 degrees, we get the high clouds in central california. the combination will drop temps 20 degrees by saturday. 50s, 60s, 70 degrees for some. temperature running above 24 hours ago for," 6 to 8 if you go inland. west 20, gusts to 28. that's a screams message on a cooler pattern. west at nine at sfo. sea breeze, water temps have come up. 40s up in the mountains. 70s and 80s through the valley. hot on the desert.

from across the country. tomorrow they can watch drivers qualify. tomorrow is the big race. now if you're planning to be near the raceway, don't. you should stay away unless you are going there, you will be in for big traffic delays, highway 121 and highway 37 will be packed with cars. in the past traffic has backed up to 101 and interstate 80. use the raceway fun train to ease the congestion. this will be emotional for bay area native jeff gordon. he was born in vallejo. this weekend will be his final race at sonoma, he's been a fan favorite and his home track in the bay area, he hopes he has what it takes to win.
