and there's just nothing like it. >> what is it that you love so much that gives you that rush? >> of course, there's a dynamic nature to the fire. the thing that appeals to myself and many like me is to have a common goal, trying to accomplish something that really matters, saving lives, saving property. >> tell us what that feels like when that water hits the ground. >> you can just feel the ground shake when it hits you feel the heat. sometimes it will even cause fire to increase in intensity because of all that air being displaced by the water. we've had buckets that have fell upon us, knocked guys over. it can break trees loose. very hazardous operation. >> how these videos help people understand the situation up in washington. >> i think how it's helped is that there's a lot of people that don't realize how much need there is for volunteer the. our volunteers are really aging in the departments. i have a huge audience of guys looking for direction, looking for something to do. this is bringing exposure to

this. and this type of work. it's drawing a tremendous amount of people volunteering and getting involved in their communities and just helping folks out. >> statistically, it's very unlikely it's going to happen. there are cameras everywhere. statistically, it's kind of likely these very things will be caught on camera, freaking us out, like this first example to us from brazil. delivering papers seventh floor. gets in the elevator. then we see this. jumps out. basically what happened as it was coming down it started going faster, faster and faster. it just landed in the basement, hits a spring at the bottom of the elevator shaft. you see that guy jump out? he's limping because of the impact it had on the ground. he thanks his lucky stars. fortunately the guy was all right. the maintenance was up-to-date in this building. it's checked every month. it's one of those things that freaks me out.

check out this video. terrifying. it looks like some sort of subway. no warning. nothing. when suddenly the entire wall falls out from underneath him. can you believe that? there's no indicator that that's even going to happen. these guys are standing around. suddenly, they vanish. you see this person here holding on for dear life on the side. they say that the hole opened up, was 30 feet by six feet. no indication as to why this happened. four people you saw fall in there, they were okay, with minor injuries. >> this is the stuff nightmares are made of. this is awful. for all we know, the ground below us right now could swallow us up. we'll know more "right this minute." >> we are starting in australia. we have seen many a snake rescue. this one, i feel sorry for the snake. i think all it wanted was a drink. this say red-bellied black
