bridge, causing this hiker to fall straight off. >> i'm wondering if they were too close together. >> this had absolutely nothing to do with the hikers. it was a complete failure of the bridge in this case. ten people were on the bridge, only four of them at this time. it was last inspected in december 2014, fully inspected by an engineer 18 months ago. this was a bridge that shouldn't have failed, and did. it really has shown a light, because a few years ago 13, 14 people died because of a poorly maintained platform. in the end, three of the hikers ended up in the water, one person left on the bridge. it was one of those things that shouldn't be one of those things. i will warn you, this video is a little difficult to watch, dash cam video approaching an intersection. pedestrian crossing signs all over the place.

a car comes across from left to right. the person just slides across the intersection. people immediately go up, this guy comes running up and begins to collect the person. that's the driver of the car that struck that woman in her 80s. >> oh, my god. >> we know you're not supposed to move a victim in a dramatic situation like this, but you see the driver carrying the victim back to the car he was driving, opening the door and trying to stuff that woman inside. >> to take her to the hospital? >> the cynical side of me, is he taking her to the hospital or getting rid of the witness? >> no real word of what his intentions were. but he doesn't manage to get that woman in the car. he drops her on the ground and takes off. >> my assumption is his intentions were no good, because if they were, he would have stayed and called 911 or the

equivalent in russia. >> a total panic move, i want to think he was so panicked that he wanted to get the person to the hospital immediately. but he just freaked out. the woman is in serious condition, had serious fractures to her body. the man turned himself in two days later. >> you could tell he was remorseful if in fact he did turn himself in two days later. >> a tricky emotion going, you can see it in his behavior as well. at least he turned himself in. eventually he did the right thing. watch what happens when mama bear and her cubs come face-to-face with man's best friend.
