and dave happened to be down there doing some cleanup work so he had tools with him so he was able to help this eel out. and as you can see, the first thing he's got to do is get that fishing line off. >> look at that. >> it really is pretty bad. he's trying to work that one hook off. the good thing is he did have those tools. eventually he presses another diver into service to help him get these hooks out of this eel's mouth. >> that poor creature really got in a tangle of trouble. once it's all done he says it was a discombobulated and worn out from its experience. i would be, too, if i had three hooks in my mouth and was tied up like that. no word on how long that eel was in that condition. said it was stunned and sore but he let it go but it was wiggling, and able to swim. and eel itself around for another day.
