a boy band doing what -- >> all the boy bands ever do. >> how a new generation is bringing back the old days. ♪ >> one of the most fun games to play here right this minute is real or fake. thing is, little did we know that for the last couple of years, someone's been playing a game with all of us. and when i say all of us, i mean all of us. >> this is clipped from eight viral videos that have been huge over the last couple of years. and there's something special about those eight videos. every single one of them produced by the same people. you recognize these videos? >> yes. >> [ bleep ] >> absolutely, yes. they're some of our most popular

videos. >> that is absolutely huge! >> in fact, of the eight that they produced, we picked seven of them here. >> man overboard! >> and if i'm not mistaken, i think we correctly identified them as either suspect or straight-up fake. >> this one the great white shark you guys immediately called it out fake. there was the tornado one we also saw as fake. the selfie stick was stake, the burning man nick spotted as fake. the snowboarder being chased by the bear. we spotted that bear from another individual year and there was a lion one as well. the lightning strike was the only one you seemed to feel like fake on that one. >> >> we've got a team of producers that really sniff out all this stuff, too. >> the whole point was that it was a social experiment to explore deeper how you can get a video to go viral without the luxury of pricey media buying ad campaigns and things like that. what they found was a great way

to get something to go viral is to get that debate going. >> well, we are right this minute so of course we have one of the guys behind this amazing project. dave christianson, producer, writer, live right at "right this minute," dave! dave, how does it feel kind of pulling the wool over the eyes of the world for two years? >> how it feels. it was more about the learning we were able to take out of it. it's definitely been an interesting ride, that's for sure. >> why do you think people fall for this sometimes? >> the whole point of it was to kind of experiment, and try different things. and that was the really interesting thing, in which people totally bought into, which people totally did it. and often whether it didn't matter or not, you know, going viral -- >> why reveal yourself now? >> kind of set out to make a series of budget, time, all those things kind of caming down to let's make eight and we finished the last one about a

month or so ago. now is a good time to come out and say, hey, this is us. >> what does this say about the current state of media, and how gullible people can be. >> that's a good question. i think what is said is there is hungry, hungry demand for short form snackable content. people want it, and news publishers and platforms out there have no choice but to report on it. and for, you know, they should always look at things with a skeptical eye and try and do what you guys do and question whether they're real or not. >> when you go to the emergency room, you're expecting help. not a knuckle sandwich! that's what this guy got. he's the guy with no shirt, he had a bloody injury to his hand, and you see him just wipe that hand on the doctor's lab coat there. the doctor pushes his hand away, and just as security comes around the corner to help deal with this man, who reports

claims when struck, it erupts. the doctor shoves him back, and then fists go a-flying. >> oh, oh, oh. >> wow that doctor's not messing around, nan. >> no, he's not. >> the security guard has that guy kind of contained. enough so the doctor can land a couple of big haymakers on his head. >> does the mrs. get involved? >> that woman was with the guy looking for help. but it didn't get very far before it goes in to a full-on brawl in the e.r. >> this is absolutely crazy. why would this do -- on the doctor. that's nasty. >> the doctor was, however, also injured. i believe in the translation, that he did suffer a broken nose there. a bloodied nose, at least. >> ew. >> now on over to st. petersb g petersburg, russia, to a fast food joint. very crowded place. you see that guy walk right up in between all those people and grab some food. not sure if it was his food to grab or not. but that somehow started a

brawl. >> first starts the two guys on the floor. other guys join the fight. you can see people grabbing chairs. smashing each other's heads. fight spilled out onto the street. >> crazy there. because everybody else in the restaurant, everyone that works there, all the other patients just let it happen. they're gone. >> yeah, because this probably happens every night. >> gets pretty ugly outside. there were some reports of minor injuries. at least one person was taken to the hospital. >> you don't always need words to express just how happy and thrilled you are. this was captured in pennsylvania but shared on our "right this minute" facebook page by jessica. check it out. this is the moment she's there in that waiting room, with her brother, who's recording this video. waiting for her sister. her twin sister tessa. they were both born several months prematurely with cerebral palsy. tessa's case was a little more severe than jessica. jessica can walk while tessa has to be in a wheelchair.

she can't speak. so because of this she has to be in an assisted living home. jessica has traveled to see her sister all the way from michigan. it's been awhile since the sisters have seen each other, and watch the moment that tessa gets into the room. [ screams ] tessa just starts screaming and she's looking back at her caretaker and looking at her sister. they both start cracking up, tessa gives her sister jessica a big old hug. >> we can all have a moment with someone with that happiness. >> that's such a wonderful, wonderful moment. >> you can see so much on her face. >> it's so sweet. now jessica says she only gets to see her sister a couple times a year, maybe. so this is a big, huge deal for everyone. >> i have to say we're pretty close. you get to see your sister it's special. but then when they surprise you -- >> it's just a precious moment that we're so glad that jessica

shared this video on our facebook page. >> got it? >> got it. >> it's a good thing this guy didn't go commando. >> oh! >> that is in singapore. >> no way. >> and that elderly man fell out of a window, this is an eighth story laundry rack. that man held up -- >> no. >> on his underwear. >> no. >> like a life-saving wedgie. >> it holds him up the entire time. firefighters are working pretty hard to get this man rescued. you could see them on the seventh, eighth, ninth floors. not only this, you have somebody rappelling down, and you have the firefighters on a very large ladder, on a ladder truck, also there to help out. eventually, they are able to get that man in to that basket and transport him to the hospital where they say he was conscious, and in stable condition. this rescue of a completely different kind. what i like about this one,

though, it shows when guys are alone, they're talking about girls and beer and games. these guys are the sweetest fellas you ever want to run across, because, they see a fawn stuck on the side of the french river in canada. >> oh, it's so slippery there. they manage to get that boat over there but they don't pick it up and grab it, they just give it a little boost on the bottom. >> oh. that's just nuts. come on. >> go, go, go. >> just a nudge with the foot and he's got the hand there like don't fall back. and you see that little creature make its way up into the woods. kidos to the canucks for executing that. >> geared up wp a delicious chocolate treat. >> they put it in a sling shot, and shoot it through the portal. >> why it's all fun and games when people get kroberred with cake. >> are you kidding me?
