alan anthony beeman. 15 year since the september 11 terrorist attacks, relatives and friends on those who died of flight 93 in san francisco gather at the crash site in pennsylvania. loved ones read the names of those who died in the crash. good evening. 3000 people died that day at three different locations and this morning obama laid a wreath at the pentagon to remember those are lost. he said americans will never forget such a horrendous attack but he said he is inspired by american resilience. the terrorists hijacked four passenger jets were all scheduled to fly to california but instead they flew two of them into the world trade center

towers bringing both skyscrapers to the ground and a third hit the pentagon, partially collapsing that building and a fourth one crash in the field in pennsylvania. the passengers tried to regain control of the plane. it is believed it was headed for the white house.>> and moment of silence to remember those that perished. >> obama showed that moment of silence was pentagon leaders they lower their heads in unison at 9:37 am, the time that the third hijacked plane crash into the pentagon. today obama confirmed the character of the nation and the fight against terrorism. >> we have stayed true to the spirit of this day by defendant not only our country but our ideals. >> 184 men, women and children were killed when flight 77 hit the pentagon for the youngest victim was three years old.

hit and run accident left three people seriously injured but it happened after 1 am this morning a few blocks from capitol expressway. it took emergency crews more than 30 minutes to free the victims who were trapped inside their car. >> there was significant damage on three sides of the car. people were trapped inside the car. all three of them have been transported to the trauma center. >> police are looking for people in a second vehicle who drove away from that crash scene and a man was killed today in another hit-and-run accident. 40-year-old stephen lee died shortly after 2 am on 980 new the 27 street on-ramp. he was on a motorcycle and the dark colored van rear-ended him and drove off.

in endurance swimmer became the first solo unassisted swim. kim chambers plan to work through the san francisco bay in the sacramento river to raise money for military veterans but that effort came up short when she faced high winds from san -- sacramento. the journey was expected to take 48 hours. they called it off after summing for 48 hours. so travelers will find it easier to get to copenhagen and barcelona in march. the international airport announced service by norwegian air to the two cities. service to both locations will take place twice a week but flights to barcelona will be nonstop and increase to three times a week in august. tickets are on sale at the norwegian air air side.
