opponent and there are questions about his health and how this will play and questions about how dr. oz is going to respond to all of that. there are concerns among some republicans that perhaps he might be seen as too harsh about the health issue, the stroke issue is major, there is a teleprompter, it will not look like a normal debate because of his health challenges. it is another issue in a race that is one of the more unique races i've ever seen covering, national issues in pennsylvania, republican trying to hold the seat, lieutenant governor against novice politician, stroke on top, it is incredible. >> shannon: this race has tightened up the senate race. interesting gubernatorial races. lee zeldin will be on special report on monday to talk about the new york race. in airbnb, they are not having

debates. the arizona republic running away with carieshgz lake, hobbs seems invisible. she says the debate would be a waste of her time. >> catherine: this is a very tight race, a state president biden won by narrow margin and lack of debate has become a narrative in the race. hobbs is saying this would not be a good use of time and would not be helpful. she is facing criticism and concern from voters and voters including pennsylvania, one candidate had a stroke, expect to see candidates facing questions and each other. she is now spending time defending this opinion as opposed to talking about the race. >> shannon: cari lake is surging

in the gubernatorial race and a tight senate race, does she pull blake masters? >> karl: i wouldn't say surging, she is moving ahead, be hobbs has run a dreadful campaign and this latest decision not to debate is a mistake. if lake wins by sufficient margin, might bring blake masters in. in georgia, if kemp wins, he may bring herschel walker in on his coattails and in nevada, it is clear that sheriff lombardo, sheriff of clark county is helping adam laxin his race. and in pennsylvania, we have josh shapiro and mehmet oz seen as centrist candidates and the democratic nominee seen as

extremist outside of the mainstream. >> shannon: juan, what are you watching you think democrats will hold on to or multiimmel? want i think they will win in arizona, picking up on what we were talking about, you will see sflit votes and people are writing about that. i think if you're looking for interesting races even beyond washington, i looked at that race in oklahoma for governor, kevin stitt and joy hofmeister and the idea democrat could win in a red state, is pretty ashgsz mazing and reflects the idea that we've got an election where turnout is key, get your people to the poll and what we've seen with early voting is big turnout. both sides are highly energized and he was saying crime is out of control, this is another

deficit spends under the prior administration, there was more spending on the prior administration. to help reduce prices we have now, we got to focus on the biggest driver, oil and gas. i support the oil and gas industry, in my place, is there are 40,000 jobs, we lower prices of oil and gas. i helped pass the ban on oil exports, we created more jobs and want to see domestic drilling in the united states. you lower price of petroleum and lowers price of fertilizer and t has impact on goods, that is what i focus on and i can control, having domestic drilling in the state of texas or in the united states. >> shannon: so many positions that you take, republicans would say you should join them and their party, more in line with them. you are often described as only pro-life democrat in the house.

a close race watching house district along the border, cassy garcia brought up the fbi raid at your home in january, anything you can say to clarify that investigation or what is going on there? >> yes. definitely there is -- i'm not the target of the investigation, that is what my attorney has told me, we will go ahead and move and focus on the election. what i want to know, what she wants to do, she is focusing on negative astacks and i think people are sick and tired of negative attacks. this is a market of ideas, what i want to do, what she wants to do, let the people decide. if you look at numbers in the past, i usually do 10% better than most state and national democrats that run in my district because i get independent voters that support me and moderate republicans and that is what i will do, get

boom and essentially turned it into a recession because of all the inflationary federal spending and regulating and the war against fossil fuels which has caused 10% inflation. the soft underbelly of the biden economy has been a continuous decline in the working folks wages, real wages have fallen for 18 straight months year on year basis. the inflation tax is killing the economy, we're on the front end of recession, all these businesses have tighten, jeff bezos, jp morgan, people like that are predicting recession next year. it is just part of the fraudulent, almost like whites black, black and white, he will

not tell the truth about the economy, he inherited a boom, turned into a bust. federal reserve raising interest rates, stock market is falling, we are heading for a deep recession and progressive policies have utterly failed. this war against fossil fuel, it doesn't make any sense trying to watch him turn the truth around and i think it has hurt him. there is no confidence in him or his policy or in the economy and that is why the cal vary is coming and we'll see tremendous turnover in the elections. >> shannon: we'll see what republicans do if they regain power. talk about your prize, the speech you gave the other night, you talked about importance of faith in public life. you and i have had conversations about how it led you though the

storms in your life, recent polling shows americans are walking away from the period of faith in their life, what is your message on that front? >> yeah, it is a disturbing thing, you and i have talked about this. look, shannon, going back many years, almost 30 years ago, in my worst moments, i looked for god, i reached for god, i asked for his help and i've been doing so for the last three decades. i came to faith and i want to say, by the way, with respect to bill buckley, great modern father of conservative, in adigsz to being a free market calitalist, bill was a man of great faith. bill was a high church catholic and believed religion played an

important part in our lives, our culture and, in our families and communities. there is only one bill buckley, i have tried to follow that model and again, shannon, i know it is a sunday show and we don't have time to go through a lot of stuff, i think some people on the radical left who want to take religion, not making specific religion, but take religion, take god out of our schools, out of our work, out of our families, out of our lives, i think it is a huge mistake. i think it damages the culture and i hope people think twice about that in the future. it helped me in my personal life and i think it can help everybody in their lives. >> shannon: it's helped me, too, this country is beautiful place of freedom to have religion or none at all and we celebrate that. that's it for sunday morning,
