manufacturing jobs they know when you left we had more people unemployed percentagewise in the great depression. what vice president harris is talking about is making more affordable to buy housing and we've seen this in minneapolis we have more housing stock, loosing the rates go down, morehouse available. also the idea of the price gouging. with the public and the democratic states. this is about 410 or so. that is where it has been for many years. up and down. with the prices in the grocery stores have skyrocketed. corporate profits have skyrocketed and people were paying more. we talk about that. i think the fundamental difference here is donald trump kept his promise , he cut taxes for the wealthiest, she saw what making sure things of the child tax credit $600,000 tax credit put more money people's pockets making sure we are able to buy those things they weather baby formula getting started and simply asking if we can pay for it by asking those at the top to pay their fair share. this is a fundamental difference in approaches to it.

vice president's position but i will say this minnesota ranks as a top five business state, we rank in the top three states for the living and with the top states for health care access. i would also say this. we have some of the safest roads. the vice president has made it clear she has policies that make a difference. reported policies are the most longest and fairest peeps seen. >> but governor you know a lot of people including your own party would not join the statement. there is money to people that will come here over the last two years that you know, they see this as a problem. >> simply we have a policy, gall trump sees it as political. james langford and local -- oklahoma with the border control -- border patrol agents. the chamber of commerce, they all sit passes legislation. you need to have congress to authorize the doj and these border agents and adjudications on the asylum claims. these are the things that would actually work. donald trump told us for four years he would deal with this

>> when you look at the additional funding for israel, the main thought for most people is about hurricane helene and the victims left in the wake of that. hundred still missing we don't even know their fate at this point, you been to georgia florida, you a plan to go to north carolina's well what do you see and make of the local state responses? >> i would just tell you the federal level this has been a massive failure. you can just ask the people on the ground, i've been there. i was in georgia, in florida where hurricane helene made landfall we're going to the hardest hit parts -- hardest hit parts in north carolina this week. when you talk to the people directly affected, they will tell you that this has been an abject failure. fema has lost sight of their core mission i think, in the cases with the administration they have not shown that they were prepared for this eventuality in this terrible disaster, the thing about the hurricane shannon as we know that they are coming well in advance. they had more than a week's notice. but yet we still have people

that have not been served and even rescued in north carolina. it is a heartbreaking tragic and infuriating situation to have the federal government fail as they have. >> now we have on this dormant built-in track in the florida gulf. there is a category three later this week. so the secretary says they don't have money to get through what they need for the rest of this hurricane season. we've heard similar statement from the secretary of transportation. president biden has some more money is needed. he also sent a letter to the congressional leaders friday night including you and he said specifically the small business administration is in real trouble. here's what he says. i wore the congress of this potential shortfall even before the rricane landed on america's shores. i requested more funding with them multiple times over the past several months and most recently my administration underscored this request as you prepared and continued the resolution to fund the gome. you call congress back before the election? do you need to?

>> we'll be back in session immediately after the election 30 days from now. the thing about these hurricanes and disasters of this magnitude is it takes a while to calculate the actual damages and in the states they need some time to do that. i'm from louisiana where -- we are hurricane prone state. we are experts in disaster recovery. we've done this. you don't just send estimates to the federal government. you send specific needs and requests based on the actual damages and it takes in time especially with storms of this magnitude. congress will do their job. remember before we left washington, the day before hurricane helene hits and made landfall, congress appropriate 20 billion additional dollars to fema so they would have the dollars they needed to address the immediate needs. then after that, congress always takes this approach of providing was necessary, congress will provide we will help the people in these disaster prone areas it's an appropriate role for the federal government and they will

have the bipartisan support for that. it will happen in due time and we will get that job done. there should be any concern about that at all. >> but there is with some of these agencies, the conflict with confusion about the fact that we are not doing things in regular order, there are continuous continuing resolutions this will lay december 20th right before the holidays and the number of agencies that are all fighting for peace -- for a piece of the pie that say they cannot have stability and encounter with a knee because this is the way we are funding the government piecemeal. >> continued resolutions or no way to continue funding the government and i wish we did have a do that but they have to call chuck schumer and the senate. the democrat led senate, they did not pass one appropriations bill this cycle. they didn't put one bill and the floor, they didn't even try. chuck schumer put us in the position, the house did we have passed the appropriation bills we got all this through committee over 72% of the federal funding done from the floor. then the process stop because the senate was not engaging. you can't have two chambers negotiating these bills it one chamber is not engaging at all.

that's a problem. we're putting in the cr situation once again. will meet our obligations congress will do it and i trust when we get back both chambers will work in earnest to get the job done. >> before we leave the issue of hurricane helene there's been a lot of pushback from the federal government agencies saying that republicans are out there spreading misinformation about the fema funding and how it's been used for people who have come here as migrants any illegally millions of them versus how how the money is spent for disasters. the white house press secretary said this on friday about conflating the two pools of funding. >> it just isn't true. it's a false statement. >> they also call this is a rumour on their website and say fema's disaster response efforts and individual assistance is funded through the disaster relief fund which is a dedicated fund for disaster efforts. the disaster relief has not been diverted to other nondisaster related efforts. what your understanding with how

the money has been allocated and spent with regards to the border in the hurricane. >> the streams of funding are different, that's not an untrue statement of course but the problem is with the american people seeing what they are frustrated by is that fema should be involved at the federal emergency management association. there mission is to help people in times like this in natural disasters, not to be engaged in using any pool of funding from any account for resettling illegal aliens who come across the border. that's what the bynen administration kamala harris and secretary miller has been engaged with -- in with this program. they spent precious treasures of the american people and taxpayers to do just that. when you see illegals in your local airport and you see them being transported around the country with planes, trains, and automobiles to every community everywhere, every state-supported now because of that, the ngos the nongovernmental organizations mostly transporting those people around and they said the receipt to this federal government. and bynen harris gleefully pay
