1:44 pm
apartment. >> daniel sends a text to ashley, says, where are you at? i need to see you and she says, lol, i'm in bed. i want you here so bad. daniel responds with meet me please. i'm going through it. i got kicked out and then ashley responds with are you serious? all right, let me put something on real quick. this is antonetta talking through daniel's phone and daniel's sister janine, the other woman in the video who lured and attacked ashley, is brought in for questioning in this shocking police interrogation after learning ashley died from her injuries. >> janine laughs as she admits that she was the one who spilled about the affair. >> so he tells me who is he cheating with and stuff. once he told me, i was just like, oh, just tell her. >> giggling and laughing. even after knowing ashley died from that brutal attack, that's what kind of threw me off, is how
1:45 pm
much janine was just laughing this all off. >> like never took it seriously. and i remember asking her in the interview room hits on tiktok like to record, did you record this? and she told me, no, she she did not record it. she's not that dumb. >> but investigators have proof she did record the fight. say hi to daniel dilson. >> these videos are proof of how immature she is that she don't even comprehend what she has done to herself. >> janine smile finally fades when she gets this reality check. >> you've been charged with murder. >> me eigsti. >> yeah, that's that's insane. >> it would later be revealed that janine's kicked to the stomach. was the final fatal blow. both janine and antonetta stephens were charged with felony murder, robbery and aggravated battery. both pled guilty to voluntary manslaughter and were sentenced to 20 years. janine gonzález, daniel's
1:46 pm

lower cholesterol. okay. i love it. >> my love language is portuguese. i don't understand it, but i love how it makes me feel. >> now, an update on a case that we have been following here at true crime news, the murder of tech ceo bob lee, who was stabbed in san francisco. his final moments captured on this security video. the man accused of killing lee is standing trial right now. a night of partying turned deadly with multi-millionaire cash app founder bob lee stabbed to death. then the rincon hill section of the city by the bay. >> there's a male screaming help saying someone stabbed me. >> and as he's bleeding out, he is outside on the street. >> the tech genius was found lying in a pool of blood with a deep knife wound that pierced his heart and lung. prosecutors
1:52 pm
will lay out their case that nemo many planned the violent assault after a dispute with lee over his adult sister kazmar mommy. they say nemo was upset that kazmar had partied hard with drugs and alcohol during a night out with lee and his friends, and that lee was trying to calm him down. >> her brother was upset about that and blamed bob for that. >> surveillance photos from the night in question show bob lee and nemo, many together inside a hotel elevator. later, the two eventually make their way toward a car in footage first obtained by the daily mail, lee can be seen looking for help outside an apartment building at 2:35 a.m. after he's been stabbed. lee collapses to the ground and dies from the attack to maliciously stab them in the car and leave them on the road to die.
1:53 pm
>> that's horrifying. >> but mo menez attorneys say he acted in self-defense and will argue that lee was high on drugs and attacked mo. many. joining me now to bring us up to speed is reporter christian kafton from our affiliate fox two in san francisco. so what's happened? so far in court? >> for their part, prosecutors are saying that niemelainen flew into a rage when he found out that bob lee was among those who had been partying with his sister, kazmar, and that got him into such a rage, thinking that bob lee was there when his sister was in this predicament where she was perhaps partying with a group of others. that's what fueled his anger and got him to kill bob lee. for their part, the defense attorneys are saying that this was a case of self-defense. instead, they're arguing in their opening arguments that it was bob lee who took the knife from kozari home and that niemelainen, who
1:54 pm
has extensive training in self-defense, was able to use those self-defense trainings to try to save his own life. >> is mr. momeni expected to take the stand? >> that is one of the big outstanding questions whether niemelainen will take the stand here. now, the judge has said before that the burden of proof, of course, is on the prosecution here, that mr. momeni has no obligation to take the stand. but we are waiting to find out if, in fact, niemelainen will be taking the stand in his own defense. >> so many claims that this all stemmed from a fight over his sister. is she expected to take the stand? >> we do expect her to take the stand. she has received a summons to appear in court. as a matter of fact, she did appear in the court building briefly. she did not enter the courtroom. we are expecting her to testify. about what happened in the events that led up to the death of bob lee, and what she saw and how she understood what was going on around her. so we are
1:55 pm
expecting her to take the stand at some point in time, perhaps very soon. >> menez team says that bob lee was partying hard that night. how will that come into play? >> the defense said that bob lee, in the 91 hours leading up to his death, had only had six hours of sleep. they say that that lack of sleeplessness was fueled by cocaine use. we've also heard from some of the forensic investigators who went to bob lee's room that they did find numerous empty alcohol containers and a white substance on a coffee table that, to that first crime scene analyst, appeared to have been cocaine. so certainly bob lee's lifestyle is going to be a major part of this case going forward. >> what can we expect in the coming days? >> well, in the coming days, we can expect to hear again from kazmar, menez sister in this case and find out how she understood what was going on, and hear from her about her narrative, about what was going on in the events that led up to
1:56 pm
the death of bob lee. we're also expecting evidence from other people who were at that party earlier that evening that that could have been the precipitating event where we understand there was a drug use and where nemo many believed that his sister may have been influenced into some of what he considered inappropriate behavior. so we are expecting a lot of that evidence to be forthcoming in the days to come. >> thanks, christian. we'll right back. >> at visiting angels, we are honored to serve our veterans who have made sacrifices to keep us safe, caring for those in need is our calling. so if you love helping others, then veterans need you more than you may know. come join our award winning team of caregivers and help those in need across america. to learn more, scan the code or visit us online at visiting angels.com. visiting angels, america's choice and
