people from both sides of the political aisles are paying tribute to the late president jimmy carter. president biden said the world lost a remarkable leader, while president elect trump wrote in his trump social platform, quote, challenges jimmy faced as president came at a pivotal time for our country, and he did everything in his power to improve the lives of all americans. for that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude. carter went from georgia state senate to governor and then the presidency from 1977 to 1981. accomplishments included the camp david accords for the middle east and the nuclear arms treaty with the soviet union. >> i've had a wonderful life. i've had thousands of friends and i've had an exciting and adventurous and gratifying existence. >> carter lived a life of charity and nonprofit work. he built homes with habitat for humanity and taught sunday school twice a month. he will lie in state in both georgia and washington, d.c, before his national funeral on january 9th. >> and andre, former president carter will be buried alongside

to improve visibility for pedestrians and potentially reduce the number of accidents. more than 40 other states have some kind of day lighting law like this. now, you likely won't get a ticket for this on wednesday. there is a 60 day grace period. some cities, like san francisco, have been giving out warnings already, but by march, drivers will face a fine and those fines will vary from city to city and whether the curb has been painted red. but it will be around 40 to $100. and of course, this will also remove some parking spots. now, another new law eliminates what's known as the locked door loophole, which requires prosecutors to prove that car doors were locked when someone broke in. so this law makes it easier for prosecutors to address auto burglary and thefts. at 730, we'll focus on some of the new laws affecting workers, specifically freelance workers and agricultural workers. dave, back to you. >> all right, amanda, thank you. time now. 636. the family of an 84 year old woman in santa rosa,
