chávez for an alleged improper lane change. cops detect the smell of marijuana and searched the suv. >> they start searching in the front, just basic. >> glove box under the seats. >> they find an alarming stash burglary tools, an lsu shirt from burrows university, high end shoes, louis vuitton bags and other expensive luxury goods. cops soon suspect that passenger is likely wearing joe's own personal bengals hat. so how did these four allegedly end up with the football star's personal property? >> so obviously, everybody has. heard what has happened. i feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one. >> last month, as the nation watched burrow, aka joe cool, play the dallas cowboys on monday night football, the

quarterback's mansion was ransacked. his alarmed girlfriend, victoria's secret model olivia ponton, was at home, prompting her mom to call 911. >> someone is trying to break into the house right now. my daughter is there. this is joe burrow's house. she is staying there. he's at the football game. she's wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding, or if she should be going outside. >> does someone trying to break in? >> yes. >> the incident turned joe's private life very public, something he loathes. according to those who cover the team. >> joe burrow. >> is the most. >> private athlete i've ever covered in covering the nfl for over a decade. he goes to measures to protect his security. that's why this was such a big deal. >> we live a public life. and, you know, one of my least favorite parts of that is the lack of privacy. and that has been difficult for me to deal with my entire career. i'm still learning, but i understand it's

the life that that we choose. doesn't make it any any easier to deal with. >> but he's not alone. these burglaries are a disturbing trend confronting many nfl players and other leagues. with players away on the field, burglars are hitting their homes. three time super bowl winner patrick mahomes and taylor swift's boyfriend travis kelce have also been targeted. nfl commissioner roger goodell taking notice. >> it's clear there's some organized. fashion here that we hope. we hope that the fbi and the authorities can, can, can handle. >> law enforcement has revealed some perpetrators are working for international theft rings and cartels, some even coming to the u.s. intent on burglarizing homes across the country. and now nfl security released this document encouraging players to take precautions by not updating any social media with check ins

what started with an anonymous text ended in tragedy. and when 23 year old angie barlow walked out the door to meet a mysterious couple, she had no idea her life was in danger. it's just days before halloween for indianapolis roommates mona jackson and angie barlow. >> like from high school till now, we always live together. so. >> and after 11 years of friendship. 24 year old mona and 23 year old angie are more like sisters than friends. >> i was adopted into the family. not necessarily

parties? >> angie, who had started by dancing at a gentleman's club in the area, would do private parties on occasion, and the text appears to be from a woman wanting to surprise her husband for their anniversary. but there was something odd about the exchange. >> never once said her name. >> no name and unknown phone number. >> it just wasn't adding up. and i told angie. i said, please do not do this private party because it just didn't seem right at all. >> the detail didn't seem to worry angie. on the night of the private party, angie gets another text from the client stating, i want our panties and bra to match anything black and red. angie responds, yes, i have a couple black and red outfits. then angie does something she always did before dancing at a private party. she screenshots the party's location and sends it to her roommate, mona. >> this is where i'm going for this private party. >> along with the screenshot, angie attaches this haunting

message doing a private party at this address just in case i go missing lol. a few hours later, angie messages again. this time she appears to be inside the party. >> there was a snapchat that she had and it was about 1145 on october 26th in the evening and it said doing this private party. and we do believe that that snapchat was taking in the bathroom at the apartment. >> seen here from her snapchat. there's a big smile on her face. everything appears to be fine. but by the next day, nothing. >> nobody's heard from her. nobody's seen her. i start calling angie and i'm leaving her voicemails, text messages. >> angie's mother frantically races to her daughter's apartment. it's clear that she hasn't been home. >> she has a yorkie, and she

didn't go home and take care of her dog. she never left him unattended. >> immediately, angie's mom and friend, mona head to a nearby police station to file a missing person's report. >> maybe she's off somewhere. >> that seemed to be a very real possibility. after cops get their hands on surveillance video from the apartment complex. >> the surveillance video from the apartment complex shows angela barlow's vehicle, which is a. blue pontiac. >> g6, leaving the complex at around 330 in the morning. >> detective jose torres is with indianapolis metro pd. he dissects the video frame by frame. >> directly behind angela's car is another vehicle. >> it appears angie isn't alone. when we come back, who is the mystery couple behind angie's invitation? and what's their connection to the missing

theories. >> maybe she's off somewhere. you know, maybe she drank too much or whatever, you know, trying to justify anything. you know, coming up with anything i can to justify why she's not answering her phone, why she didn't come home. >> investigators soon focus on the shadowy figures driving those two cars. but there's one big problem. >> with the video. you cannot see who's actually driving either vehicle. >> cops do have a clear shot of the second vehicle's license plate. when they run the registration. it comes back to a woman named raven miller. >> i found out that the people hosting this party was a female named raven, miller and barron mccullough. >> detectives determined that raven and barron are the secret clients, but it turns out they were no secret to angie. >> angela knew raven miller and barron mccullough through where she worked at at the club.

>> and shockingly, raven and angie weren't so fond of each other. >> there were issues to the point where angela would not have done this private party if she had known it was raven and barron that were throwing it. >> the person behind the private party texted to hire angie never gave a name, and the phone number was also unknown. >> i believe. yes, she was tricked to come to this location. i truly believe she did not know that it was going to be raven and baron's apartment, and i believe somebody else was there to answer the door when angela knocked on it. >> the couple is brought in for questioning. >> they admit that she was there, but they also said that they never left the facility. they stayed there, and while angela. >> left. >> police have no evidence indicating that raven or barron had anything to do with angie's disappearance, and they let the

couple go until 12 days later when police get a big break. >> her vehicle, the pontiac g6, was located. >> angie's car is discovered just eight miles from the apartment where she was last seen. >> we were hoping that, you know, maybe if we found her car, we'd find her. >> sadly, there's no angie, but when her car is taken in for processing. >> there were some leads found in the car. >> unfortunately, it was not enough to solve the case. months would pass and still no answers. then, completely out of the blue, police get an anonymous tip. >> saying where angela could be located. >> we just had to wait. still holding on to the hope that she was out there alive. >> the tip points police to the backyard of a vacant home in indianapolis, about ten miles from where angie went missing. >> once we obtained the search warrant, we had cadaver dogs respond, and once they hit a location and then start digging.

>> they're exactly where they were sent from the tip. police find a badly decomposed body. the coroner shows angie's parents photos of still visible tattoos. >> those are images that you see when you go to bed, and it wakes you up in the middle of the night. because that's something no parent should ever have to go through. >> tragically, her parents confirmed their worst fears. >> that was, in fact my daughter, and we had to sit in the coroner's office and give the jane doe a name. and at that point, jane doe was angela. >> tragically, angie's killer doesn't have a name, though. she disappeared about eight years ago. whoever murdered the young dancer has never been found and is still walking free. now

police are appealing again to the indianapolis community for any help in solving this mystery. >> there's a lot of information that i have, a lot of speculation, a lot of hearsay. knowing and proving are two different things. >> though investigators do claim to have an idea who did it, but even they know ideas don't close cases. >> the case is still open, and this is a difficult case because really, nobody's really come forward in this case. >> joining me now is angie's mom, christina kramer. christina, i'm so sorry for everything that you have been through. >> thank you. >> there's a few things i want to talk about. christina. if a tip came in to the police, which led them to where angie was buried, don't you think that that tipster must know more about who killed angie? >> yeah, i would think so. >> christina, what do you think happened? >> i have been told there's a local gang in indianapolis, and

angie was acquaintances with one of the gang members, and she had accidentally overheard them talking about a double homicide that they had committed. and they needed for her to be quiet. they paid the person of interest to kill angie. >> if a gang is involved with the murder of your daughter one how can you even begin to figure out why your daughter would be on their radar? >> she was a dancer, and you know, she worked at clubs. and you get to know a lot of people when you work in places like that. >> how do you get through the day and how do you honor your daughter every day. >> i get through the day by trying to keep busy, but i try to keep her memory alive by keeping her story out there, by keeping her name out there, her face out there. we give a
