the only player bogey free today of all 54 of them and h 865 was the lowest of the week this is for birdie at six. he started the day three back of three men who were nine under par and in the end he wins by three. he was excellent on the opening day. had a win of three straight bogeys in the second round which hurt his chances or so it appeared. today just magnificent. this is a birdie as well. a huge moment at the watering hole. he was keeping the pressure on abraham ancer. his second shot here at 15. the par-4. that led to his fifth birdie of the day.

and his second. what a delightful bunker shot at 18. he would roll that in for bir birdie. just a supreme performance by the chilean. the captain of torque. joaco niemann who is a horsfield golf winner for the third time. the men who came second in the championship. the season-long championship last year. and he adds a win in adelaide two wins in my uncle to mexico last year , and in jetta saudi arabia at that point he sealedit. a brilliant performance on championship sunday in front of tens of thousands of fans. a true test of his character and his nerve, and he passed it with flying colors. his excellency with the congratulations.

torque ended in third place as well in the team competition. they came from nowhere. they were ten under par today. so let's go through the pylons for you, confirmation. joaco niemann seven under par today, 13 under over all. just three ahead of carlos ortiz and abraham ancer. puig without following day, fireball as well. richard bland gets it done again, 800 to finish in fifth place. the charge didn't tear allies from jon rahm. but his legion xiii finishing second place. bryson dechambeau just 1 under today, 4 under for the competition. watson, slipping a little towards the end. cam smith started brilliantly today. look like ripper might come back. he slipped away some what.

majestic's majesticks failed to get it do done. contribution to the fireballs' team win. >> and team champion the fireballs, david. all of them got it done today. sergio out at number 12 for birdie. made a lot of good putts today. >> the youngster really proved his worth today. first time in the big arena, if you like. he did is part. he'll be tasting team champagne in just the second event as a fireball. david buche no surprise when he plays well and he did it again today. that was a birdie at ten. he went on to be 11 to play this beautiful high spending wide shot.

he needed it most at 17 and 18. going to feel like he lost it but you cannot control what the others do and joaco niemann's shot tied or low around the entire week here on championship sunday. >> the other man who was bogey free today has emerged as an absolute force in the liv golf league starting in the start of last season won in a play up against sergio. he won two events later in jeddah. what impresses you the most of his play? >> such a great athlete. he's like a twisted piece of steel you find in a bridge cable. immensely long, incredibly talented and has all the shots in the bag, from these hard surfaces to be able to make its band. he could do it all. >> when he finally got comfortable with that high draw, that's the only draw to hit the high hook. but now he's come to moving it

confidently liv golf adelaide for australian sports fans as a must visit at some point in your life. >> no question the need to got a place to play the grange or any of these golf courses, they are all works of art. they really are special places to play. >> let's talk about a couple of the other players, some of the big names. jon rahm today, a charge didn't quite materialize but what do you make of his start of the season? >> he just keeps finishing in the top ten and only a matter of time before it all comes together for him. it didn't today. a couple of loose shots with short arms that are really unlike him and you've got to be so precise around here with everything that you do. just didn't quite have that sort of player's vision. >> doesn't have his best stuff and finishes top ten. it's almost like a broken record over and over. >> only needs a couple of bounces like he expects and he'll win made seemingly he's going to be there every time. >> yes indeed but every event in

at this weekend's festivities. the city's department of emergency management heightened the activation status at the emergency operations center to a level three for this weekend, allowing them to ramp up emergency readiness. the eoc will monitor activities and work with local police and the fire department, as well as the sheriff's office. san francisco's chinatown kicked off a street fair ahead of tonight's big parade. their booths run along grant avenue between california and broadway streets. festive mascots greeted shoppers and welcomed them to the district. there were also lots of zodiac plushies for sale to bring in the spirit into your own home. one booth at the two day festival is offering a demonstration of various chinese writing practices. >> we will then do chinese calligraphy demonstration today and tomorrow from about 1030 to 2:00. we'll demonstrate different styles of chinese calligraphy. >> if you missed it today, the

[music] this free music pop up took over the balcony above john's grill on ellis street this afternoon in celebration of both the nba all-star weekend and chinese lunar new year. the longtime san francisco establishment hosted the event as part of its new fire escape series. music sessions. the outdoor pop up featured a five piece jazz band and house deejays that stopped crowds in their tracks on the street. the owner of john's grill says it has been a very busy weekend and they're just grateful. >> we're all hands on deck and we love it. everyone is so excited to have san francisco's energy back to, to what it was before. and we'll continue to keep it going on an uptick. >> john's grill says this weekend is unbelievable. with so many events, the restaurant is fully booked the entire weekend. and a reminder, muni rides are free right now in san francisco

worf is back open just in time for the holiday weekend. a high surf warning ended this morning after a large breaking waves as high as 45ft were reported. authorities are telling people to stay away from the beaches and out of the water. the conditions there prompted the santa cruz wharf to close. you'll remember back in december, a storm closed off a portion of the structure and actually caused it to collapse into the ocean. local officials say they are not taking any chances. >> to respond proactively ensure that incidents are responded to progressively and that things don't happen out there, and that was our key goal. >> i think it's a good precaution because the last time people could have died.

>> governor newsom is sending help to santa cruz under the california disaster assistance act. he issued an emergency proclamation to aid recovery efforts from december's destructive storms. the emergency proclamation allows the governor's office of emergency services to provide assistance to santa cruz. officials in the north bay are considering using emergency road repair funds after recent rainstorms. the napa county board of supervisors will vote on the nearly $10 million local emergency funding proposal next week. a report in the press democrat says the proposal would fast track road repairs. sonoma county reported about 8.8 million in damage despite receiving more rain. both counties are seeking state and federal reimbursement. a stretch of southbound 101 in marin county is back open following another mudslide. skyfox was overhead yesterday as a bulldozer was scooping up rocks and dirt near sausalito. other crew members were picking up limbs from fallen trees. the chp says mud, trees and rocks

spilled out onto the freeway late thursday night. several agencies work together today to battle a two alarm house fire in the burlingame hills. crews from cal fire, san mateo county, san bruno and more responded around 6 a.m. to this fire on canyon road. you can see just how difficult it was for crews to fight this blaze. that home is just surrounded by tall trees and power lines and other structures. four people inside of the house were able to escape on their own without getting hurt. cal fire says there were many cardboard boxes in the home, which helped rapidly spread. and the exact cause is still under investigation. a nonprofit in the east bay is filing a lawsuit against the town of moraga over their failure to have a wildfire evacuation plan safe. morocco, which stands for safety around fire evacuation, says the town is the bay area's pacific palisades. moraga is a semi-rural community in the hills, situated miles away from local highways and within or near a very high fire hazard

safety zone. residents are urging local officials to study wildfire evacuation safety, and to have a proper preparation for people to safely escape. governor newsom signed an executive order making it easier for public schools damaged or destroyed in the l.a. wildfires to use temporary facilities. it gives schools more flexibility to meet statutory and regulatory requirements. the order also ensures wildfire survivors who receive food, shelter and donations as support are not disqualified from receiving aid from cal works. the qualifications for californians to receive disaster cal fresh food benefits were also expanded in the mammoth mountain ski area. a ski patroller is recovering from serious injuries after two people were caught in an avalanche. two ski patrol members were preparing the slopes for visitors when the snow gave way. rescue crews were able to quickly pull one staff member out of the snow. the other staffer was taken to a local hospital. the entire mountain and lift operations

closed early, but a high avalanche warning expired at 4 a.m. this morning. federal cuts from the trump administration may result in a reduction in staff at the sierra avalanche center. this means they cannot provide forecasts for skiers or snowboarders, and that could make it more dangerous and risky for people headed up to the mountains during heavynow storms. the center currently works with three forecasters employed by the u.s. forest service. usually, they can post avalanche forecasts every day, but if one of them is laid off, the center can only publish them four days a week. >> well, after all, the stormy weather was nice to have a break in the rainfall for today. some high clouds, some sunshine. a nice chance to get outside. of course, a great weather for the chinese new year parade in san francisco. some changes though, as we do move into your sunday, we are expecting still the clouds to stick around. the possibility of some scattered showers, especially for the morning hours, but still mostly cloudy skies. you can see the temperature profile throughout the day. 7:00 most areas in the 40s in the during the afternoon

tracked the car to daly city. the car fled and eventually crashed in san francisco. four people inside of the car were arrested, including wilkerson. police say they found the bank deposit bag inside the car. the monterey county sheriff's office says search and rescue teams have recovered the body of a 77 year old man, just hours after he was reported missing. deputies say the body of steven sherwood was found in the carmel river late yesterday. investigators say he had gone into garland ranch regional park in carmel valley earlier in the day to look for his lost dog. the river runs through that park. the ntsb continues its investigation into last month's deadly aircraft collision in dc. the details we're learning tonight about what may have led to the tragedy. two, three peats were on the line in the nba all star saturday night. and did any warriors bring home any hardware. that story later in sports. but first. authorities now digging through the rubble after a crash in a tunnel in

two people were killed in a multi-car crash inside of a tunnel in wyoming. this crash happened yesterday along interstate 80, in the town of green river. footage here from outside of the tunnel shows trucks at a standstill, while a dark cloud of smoke billowed from inside the tunnel. a full investigation into what caused the crash and the stability of the tunnel itself is now

underway. new updates this week from the national transportation safety board on what could have led to the deadly crash between an american airlines jet and a u.s. military helicopter in washington, dc. all 67 people on board those two aircrafts were killed. fox's madeline rivera has the latest on the investigation. >> potentially miscommunications, conflicting information about the helicopters altitude. these are just some of the latest findings by the ntsb as it tries to figure out what led to the crash. the ntsb says about two minutes before the crash, air traffic control notified the blackhawk that a plane was approaching runway 33. but the blackhawk may not have received that transmission. then, seconds before the crash, air traffic control notified the blackhawk to pass behind the regional jet. it's not clear, though, if the blackhawk crew ever got that crucial message. >> transmission was stepped on by a point eight second. mike key from the blackhawk. the blackhawk was keying the mic to

communicate with atc. >> the ntsb is also investigating why there's a discrepancy with the data regarding the blackhawks altitude. the crash likely happened at around 300ft, which was around 100ft higher than the limit for helicopters in that location. but the blackhawk crew may have had inaccurate altitude readings. minutes before the collision. >> the pilot flying indicated they were at 300ft. the instructor pilot indicated they were at 400ft. neither pilot made a comment to icing and altitude discrepancy. at this time, we don't know why there was a discrepancy between the two. that's something that the investigative team is analyzing. >> the ntsb says the blackhawk was doing a checkride, which is essentially an exam. and on this flight, the crew was likely wearing night vision goggles. the ntsb says it will do a visibility study to figure out what the crew could and could not see in washington. mala rivera, fox news.
