police aren't saying just yet how the man died exactly. an autopsy will be used to determine the exact cause of death. police searching for the driver involved in a hit-and- run crash this morning. it happened on the ramp from i- 25 to 225 before 4:00 a.m. two cars were involved. one was legally merging on 225. the other crossed a double yellow line that hit the other car. one person ejected from the car that was hit has life- threatening injuries. the driver of the car that illegally tried to merge ran from the scene on foot. anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the denver police department. and police are looking for a man who shot another man leaving a night club just after the new year began in denver. police got a call about the shooting this morning about 1:30 near the intersection of lincoln and 12th. they say the victim was leaving the church night club and got into a fight with someone in the parking lot. the other man allegedly shocked him in the torso and took off.

of a hispanic male wearing a gray shirt fleeing the area. suspect description that we have. >> if you were there last night or you saw something, you are asked to contact denver police. numerous businesses in denver have reportrd burglaries recently -- reported burglaries recently which has prompted an alert from police. person seen robbing a wig shop on thursday may be responsible for at least 12 break ins altogether, mostly along east hampton. the majority were reported the last week. they believe the same suspect also burglarized inga's alpine lounge on leetsdale drive a few hundreds of dollars of alcohol. the owner says it was a big hit >> well, we're a small, local business. so i think anything that -- anything, no matter how small it is that's taken from you -- can be important. >> it is unclear currently how

you can call crimestoppers, 7820-913-stop. a good tip could earn you up to anonymous. metro denver's first baby born in 2016 arrived just ten minutes into the new year at children's hospital in colorado. jackson wayne kitchen weighed 5 pounds 4-ounces. his parents, shana and craig, are from colorado springs. the family is excited for the new addition and look forward to what the future holds for baby jackson. it's one thing to deliver another person's baby, quite another to deliver your own. even if you're a paramedic in a parking lot in 7-eleven. it happened yesterday in littleton. anastasiya bolton met the family today. >> awake right now. >> reporter: and calm. it's almost like she knows she's in good hands. not not only her mom's -- >> two questions, i think, after we stopped. the man who delivered her on the way to the hospital. >> happy, huh? >> reporter: because isabella here couldn't wait. >> it happened fast. >> reporter: but lewis, her paramedic dad, was ready. >> before we left the house, we thought it was the potential of this happening very quickly, in the car. so i grabbed all our towels, all our nice towels. it felt like she let out three good screams and it was there. >> reporter: lewis said he did call 911 to get help coming just in case. but truly he knew what he was doing. >> i was just there to catch. she did all the work. i think from a paramedic standpoint, it's pretty awesome to be able to apply the skills that i've learned with my own family all happening in a matter of, you know, 15 minutes is pretty impressive. >> reporter: mom sarah wishes isabella waited until the hospital.

30,000 movies to choose from but not enough customers to rent them anymore. owner jeff hahn has launched a crowd-funding website in hopes of turning his store into a nonprofit video archive. he believes strongly in his involvement in the community and hoping to offer movies you can't just get anywhere else. >> we have services that offer sales and videos to people. but they only offer a slight percentage of the films available people can get. and they come to us for probably the 15,000 films they have in here they can't find anywhere else. >> hahn says he has 3 to 4 months to make it work or else he's closing the store and finding a new home for his movies. a regular hunt for a lot of people. future holds. a new tribute to the 88 limpic athletes from just one colorado town. >> just -- olympic athletes from one colorado town.

the united states postal service is commemorating the space mission to pluto with stamps. they have "not yet explored" stamps. the mission that has strong boulder ties, of course, flew successfully past pluto in july. one new stamp has a drawing of the spacecraft. the other has a picture of pluto taken during its close approach. in the new year, many of us promise to develop healthy habits. the top resolution is to lose weight or to get fit.

has more olympians than anyone in the nation. they have a new display. the museum there teamed up with the steamboat springs ski area to create a display at the top of steamboat springs' gondola. it features the first to the most recent. >> featured a couple dozen local olympians that have made history both in their sport and for the heritage of steamboat springs. and then we have a few other local olympians featured in a spotlight display. all 88 winter olympians are featured in a tv rotating slideshow. so everyone who calls steamboat springs home who has olympian ties is represented in the display case. >> so the display is high atop the steamboat ski area. the best way to see it is while you're skiing and pop into the thunder head lodge to warm up and you get educated on the way. so that's a good idea. >> a lot of warming up going on this week. finally we did it. we break out of the deep freeze. look at this! the last time denver was above the freezing mark was back on christmas eve when we hit 35 degrees. and finally today we busted through that 32-degree mark! it was nice to see all the sunshine out there. we've been capturing this fun shot out of loveland as his pups play in the sunshine. beautiful today. downtown denver, mostly clear skies. can you believe it? we're already here! 2016 looking ahead to the month of january. typically temperatures stay right there around 30 degrees. our average between the high and the low. rain or precipitation, about 4/10. and then snow fall, about 7 inches coming at us. and today we hit 35 degrees. that special, magical mark. 25 in greeley and 32 up there in fort collins. warmer along the eastern plains. 5 in gunnison, all they could do. and about 10 in steamboat springs.

temperatures cooling off. but not that bad! we'll take it. 28 degrees. humidity around 32%. and the wind feeling a hair cooler there. a nice change in the weather pattern action right? the jet stream shifting into the great lakes and new england, bringing them the cool arctic air and snow. of high pressure beginning to dominate. that means our temperatures will remain mild. through the weekend and into the start of next week. and also we'll be getting a little more sunshine. on hd doppler 9, a very active jet has been pulling moisture into the carolinas and florida, an area that doesn't need anymore wet weather to speak of. across the north, you can see the lake-effect snow coming off the lakes into buffalo where they're picking up good snow fall and shifting all the way into boston. around here, a quiet day. hd doppler 9, not needing to work overtime. our futurecast will be kind of boring. but, hey, we'll take it after

the cool weather and sunshine will be looking good across the state. the morning will look at dry conditions. i-70, maybe some of the first turns of the year, things should be mighty fine. with the weather, no wet weather out there. the only thing we'll be tracking is high level clouds into the western part of the state. around here, 10:00, another quiet and cool evening ahead. tonight, cool temperatures, not so chilly. but if you live along the south platte river valley or higher mountain valleys, still awfully chilly. sub zero we go. 10 below in vail. 14 below in gunnison. about 14 above here in the metro area. clear, quiet and calm with the sunrise coming at us at 7:20 tomorrow morning. cooler in colorado but a nice warmup compared to the past week or so. and the deep freeze around 47 in fort collins. 40s in the metro area with a handful of 20s in the mountains. looking good with beautiful bluebird skies for your afternoon.

so we're going to have a real challenge again against him and their team. but especially him. i've been around him. i know some people will say, well, some guys may not play the last game or, you know, be really into it or really compete. no way. this guy's going to compete like crazy. >> after a third straight season finished with a bowl appearance colorado state now focuses on 2016 and keeping that postseason streak alive. mike bobo finished year one in fort collins with a 7-6 record. he and the rams lost to nevada in the arizona bowl on tuesday night. but the team won 5 of their final 7. and bobo is clearly encouraged about csu moving forward. >> colorado state's been playing football for a long time. but there haven't been a lot of years of consistency. and right now, there's some consistent play of three straight winning seasons, three straight bowl games. and it's something to be proud of. but by no means are we

where we're going to go. these underclassmen have to take it to another level. >> the defending champions from ohio state not in the college football playoffs this year and making a case that maybe they could have played in it. zeke elliott scored 4 touchdowns against notre dame in the fiesta bowl and they clobbered the irish 44-28. jim mcelwain's first year in florida went well but was drummed by the michigan state wolverines. this blown coverage. the game was tied at 7. but michigan scored 34 unanswered points and ended the game 41-7. brandon marshall from broncos won the team's darrent williams good guy award today. this voted on by the media. and no surprise that marshall, always cordial in the broncos locker room, it was guy to take home this year's award. >> my mom did a hell of a job in raising me.
