in his death. mitch morrissey defended the actions, he spoke with steve staeger and said the deputies did news necessary force. >> this after the family of michael marshal held the news conference outside the detention center. they had just seen the video for the first time, the family and attorneys admit they had only briefly seen the video, they claim it was difficult to sort through it. they believe it shows evidence that the deputies caused marshal's death. >> i think it is unbelievable for me to watch that tape and see those deputies kill my brother and no charges. any other person in public to committee murder would be in jail. if it was me y would be in jail. watching the tape, they committed murder. >> we spoke to denver district attorney, mitch morrissey who released his opinion that no criminal charges were merited.

the attorneys for the families said it compromised this. littleton district is now speaking publicly addressing 2 reports analyzing the district's actions before and after the shooting 2 years ago that killed a student, clair davis. the reports indicate the school did not pay close attention to warning signs by the student who eventually killed davis and had they, the tragedy might have been avoided. >> i am deeply sorry for the painful loss the davis family suffered that tragic day. as through their lessons of love and compassion for all, clair's spirit will resonate in the hallways of arapahoe high school. >> littleton superintendent, brian, acknowledges the district went into information shut down with the media and public following the shooting and defended it saying they had to go silent because of the criminal investigation and possible lawsuits.

the woman accused of randomly stabbing denver's fire chief, marlene zacevich-rodriguez's son says she has schizophrenia, she is held on assault accused of attacking the officer. they didn't know each other. marlene zacevich-rodriguez was granted $100,000 bond and her son said they can't afford that. >> we love my mom. she is not a bad person. she had her episode and it got the best of her. she is great with kids, great with family. just these health problems is what affects her. >> john says he apologizes to chief tade for his mother's actions and she was diagnosed with a mental illness. atf agents are hoping a reward will lead them to robbers who took firearms from pawnshops and looking into 3 in particular.

adams county and got away with $17,000 and 14 handguns. 3 months later the same suspect and a third accomplice robbed the fast cash pawn on sheridan boulevard in edgewater. they took cash, jewelry, and 4 ak 47 rifles. the latest happened in december at the fast cash pawn in denver. they stole handguns, jewelry, and $40,000. they are looking for 2 men and a woman and have descriptions but are pretty vague. atf has a tip line. in 2015, the atf said robbers stole 133 firearms from licensed gun retailers in colorado compared to 56 in 2014. 4 copper mountain firefighters say they are lucky they weren't hurt after a semi slammed into their fire truck. copper mountain fire department responds to a lot of crashs along i-70, they parked behind a straight trooper and a tanker truck lost control and hit the

the storm causing problems fall. airlines preemptively canceled more than 1,000 flights, some waved change fees and dia is advance. i am meteorologist kathy backyard. that storm adele mentioned brought the flurries last night and early this morning, kind of a glancing blow for colorado. we missed it and, wow, is this inthooweek. around here-- into the weekend. around here, a quiet evening, highs in 30s and 40s front range. average high is 44 so a little colder than average. that is the low spinning around the wichita area sinking into southeast where it is, in fact, going to kind of pick up steam there and really create a severe weather scenario that will be pretty amazing. you know, as the storm system picks up that warm gulf moisture and pulls in that cold air from

yellow, that is a tornado watch area. winter storm warnings will continue through memphis, raleigh, the washington dc area. the bulls eye for the heavy rain, unbelievable, over 3 inches of rain expected memphis and atlanta across the carolinas in the next 24 hours and then all snow. we will be measuring the snow in feet as that system lifts towards the northeast heading into saturday afternoon and sunday morning. here in colorado, not bad. temperatures around the area have been quite comfortable. out at the airport we are 32 degrees in the 9 news backyard, a similar reading and we see the temperatures trend pretty typical for this time of year. take a look at what is happening across colorado and the west. we have just a few high clouds coming in into the area tonight. that is really it. the far eastern plains there are areas of patchy fog but great travel weather across the state. no travel warnings for 48 hours

lows tonight will range 13 in frisco, 10 in hayden. 18 in greeley and 23 in colorado springs. high temperatures tomorrow returning above average. we have mid40s in northeastern colorado, mid 50s down south. these numbers are nice but we go even warmer saturday ahead of a front that will bring in colder air for sunday and monday and a chance for flurries for the broncos game. highs tomorrow will range 48 evergreen to 45 black hawk and 39 grand lake. very chilly as that cold air maybell. highs tomorrow mid 30s. tonight in the city, fair skies and 21 degrees, less wind than we dealt with earlier in the day. tomorrow, sunshine, mid 40s by lunchtime, low 50s in the afternoon, and we go even warmer heading into saturday. saturday mid to upper 50s, sunday increasing clouds, colder with flurries. light snow monday with a high of 32, clearing and very chilly for tuesday. kind of an active weather pattern for the first part of

right now, less than an inch of accumulation with that storm settling in sunday into monday. when the guys take the field, we are looking for a kick-off temperature about 40 degrees with falling temperatures and falling snow when they come off the field with a big win, we hope at 4:30. the broncos are the top seed in the afc, at home where they have already beaten the patriots and yet they are under dogs in sunday's afc championship. patriots favored by 3 over denver, and not only are the broncos not offended, they agree with the line. >> i try not to listen to all the noise, you know, you hear some of it but it is what it is. we got to go out there and prove it, you know, we are not world champs, we haven't been world champs so we are going against the defending world champs, it is only right. >> pro-bowl quarterback chris
