let's go, we are super bowl bound, denver broncos take down the patriots and get ready to take down the carolina panthers. one of the most loved moments happened off the field, the world got a unique look at job, dad. big money, big crowds at this year's national western stock show. we are tallying all the numbers and what it mean for the city coming up. good morning, meteorologist, marty coniglio, traffic reporter, amelia earhart joining us this morning. we will see snow but not enough for it to stick around. pockets here and there. we were at the stock show saturday morning, it was pretty fun. around here today, the small areas of flurrys over the front range, metro area, they will go a little bit this morning, and again this afternoon, foothills areas could see quarter, half inch of snow, the rest of us, i don't think see much measurable.

need to have an all wheel drive vehicle or snow tires. u.s. 6 is closed over loveland pass, means hazmat trucks pass through the tunnel at the top of each hour which can cause extra 10- 15 minute delays. expect a 5 minute commute to i- 225, doesn't get better than that. a minor problem to the east side popped up. a crash on the side streets at buckly and harvard. because of the light volume , the delays are light as well. back home, hi, mom. you will be there. >> mom is going to be there and the confetti was flying , the celebrations were awesome. you felt happy for the players and the team. fans, your champions shutdown

attorney with her mother. he is held on 250,000 dollars bond. deputies are looking for a man who was involved in a craigslist deal that turned deadly in littleton, a man posted items for sale on craigslist when two men posing as buyers showed up at the house and deputies say the two men tried to rob the home on south taft court. the sheriff's office says the homeowner was tied up, but managed to break free and confronted the suspects with a gun. one man was shot while driving away, lost control of the car and crashed in to another home, he died a short time later. the second man got away. he is likely driving a gold mustang and it may have bullet holes in the side of the car. snow this morning, in the beaver creek area, 7 inches of snow with new snow on the way. they will get another inch or two during the course of the day today. cloudy conditions over eastern colorado, that kept

the 20s and low 30s this morning. we continue to have light snow reported in grand county up and around meeker, we will see light snow. craig reporting light snow at the present time. for us, clouds, temperatures hovering right in the low 30s this morning. you may see a couple of snow flakes every now and again. that's true during the monning and afternoon today. can't see much accumulating down here at lower terrain in the foothills, southern jeffco, might see quarter to a half inch later in the day. not a bad looking way to get back in to work. we will be melting snow even in the hard to reach shady spots around your place. in money news, zillow will do a lot of hiring in town, they plan to add 150 new positions to the existing operations in centennial, making denver the company's second biggest employment hub outside of seattle.

the average price of gasoline plunged $0.14 over the past couple of weeks. the average price nationwide is coming in at a buck 91 a gallon, lowest in 7 years. lundburg says the drop may end as crude prices are going up a little bit. 110th national western stock show is in the record book, all done. by all counts, it was a huge success, more than 686,000 visitors, came out to see the show, that beats 2015's attendance and ties for a second highest on record. good weather and a strong economy couple of the reasons for the success. congratulations to them and congratulations to the junior life stock auction, a huge

animals sold for all time record of $412,000 combined. grand champion steer went for 117 grand. the grand champion goat sold for record breaking $40,000, more than double last year's winning bid. the money raised that night friday night, all helps kids with a college education. cathy and i were out there and john, the auctioneer, his 13th year of being the auctioneer, he was amazing. we were sitting there, normally the bidding does not last as long as it did. there were bidding wars from all over the arena. we went a few minutes over. 7 minutes. >> that steer? >> $117,000. >> do they ever cry after? >> they all cry. they are all very emotional. >> that would be hard. >> it's a huge night for them. one of them was following in his dad's foot steps, showing his reserve champion steer.

coming up today, democratic presidential candidates will have a final chance to talk about their platforms before voters in the iowa caucuses. hilary clinton, bernie sanders and martin o'malley at a town hall at drake university in des moines, answering questions individually. the caucuses are february 1st. michigan's attorney general expected to give update on his investigation in to the flint water crisis.

contaminated with lead two years ago. it caused kids to have high lead levels in their bodies and a state of emergency has been declared. the attorney general is looking to see if any state laws were broken. the show host, jimmy fallon donated $10,000 put out a twitter for ten friends to match his donation. in the last ten minutes, delaware's governor lifted the state of emergency so employees will report to work today. huge construction vehicles are helping clear out the snow from new york city streets as others maybe enjoy sledding. the weekend blizzard left many people stuck as clean up efforts get in to full swing. plows need to work in full force. during the weekend blizzard, the tables were turned, people in fairfax county virginia showed up to dig out a stuck fire truck. with all of their help, the truck got back on its way pretty quickly.
