traffic at 2:10 in the afternoon. it's almost impossible there was not some kind of collision.>> reporter: police do not believe drugs or ask a call -- or alcohol were involved. there will still be a toxicology report. he was cited for careless driving resulting in death. they will look for possible mechanical failure with the car and whether the age of charles tatman could've been a factor. >> i have heard nothing from detectives that would tell me one way or the other whether he should've been driving the vehicle or not.>> reporter: charles tatman will appear in court in a few weeks. >> they hope the tragedy will raise awareness for better licensing and testing of elderly drivers. they hope that charles tatman recovers from his injuries.

about an infant -- a deputy we are told that he had a second surgery earlier today. two people tried to rob him last night in the parking lot of his girlfriend's apartment. he was shot several times and then he fired back hitting the 16-year-old boy who was later arrested. the other suspect is not been found. sheriff jeff schrader got the news at a meeting. thanked the aurora police for their quick response.>> i had opportunity to talk to and shake the hand of the aurora officer who wrote in the ambulance and provided some of the first aid that this deputy got. and, what i said to him was, thank you for taking care of our guy. it means a lot to us.>> reporter: the deputy has been a peace officer for 21 years in colorado.

the aurora police posted a $6000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the second suspects. a woman from colorado working as an au pair was found dead in austria. she did not show up at the home where she worked as a nanny. they called the police. she was that -- does she has been identified as lauren man from paeonia. she was found half dressed on a mattress in her apartment. she was described as a free spirit which will be missed.>> somebody who was kind is aware that showed up a lot today. people were talking about lauren. very sensitive. she was susceptible to the powers of art, communication and of the world.>> charles tatman graduated from the college of music at the university of colorado, boulder

some 60s reported on the plains this afternoon. mid-30s at some of your favorite ski resorts. it is above average and we will be warmer tomorrow. near 60 for the next couple of days. that is ahead of the storm that could bring a lot of snow and wind. here in the 9news backyard, it is clear with the wind fast with a light wind and temperatures close to 50 degrees. close to home, there is a heist -- a high wind watch for wyoming. winter weather advisories for salt lake city. another storm bringing snow to minneapolis and chicago. scattered showers near jacksonville. the storm that we are tracking this way off in the pacific. i looked ahead for the next 30 days and it shows that the active. that means the new system coming onshore will bring more rain to where we have seen it all over the past couple of months or so.
