to find a suspect accused of shooting a jefferson county deputy. investigators say the deputy was in plain clothes when two suspects tried to rob him. gunfire erupted and the deputy was shot. the deputy returned fire hitting a 16-year- old suspect-- who was later arrested. the other suspect took off. the sheriff's office says the deputy is in stable condition. if you know anything about this, call the jefferson county sheriff's office. the reward for information is now up to six thousand dollars. good morning. welcome to 9news at 4:30 a.m. gary, corey, and cheryl here with

while 9news reporter noel brennan was on scene he learned that the homeower had just recently moved in. family and loved ones are mourning the loss of a nanny from peonia, colorado who died while in austria. lauren mann's body was discovered half-naked, face down, and what officers describe as a considerable amount of blood in an apartment. vienna police now believe her death could a homicide. david kore-vaar,a former teacher of mann',s says she was not the type of person you can put she had many variety of skills. knew something was wrong when he saw a disturbing facebook post. mann graduated from cu in 2012 with a degree in music. was was working

studying in austria. a police spokesperson told news source the local austria that investigators are waiting on toxicology and autopsy to see whether mann was poisoned. a man who says a denver police officer violenty shoved him is suing the officer and the city. brandon schreiber said he tried talking to officer choice johnson after his brother was arrested outside the 'one up' bar in 20-14. that's when schreiber says the officer grabbed him by the neck and choke-slammed him to the ground. officer johnson received a 30-day suspension that was overturned. but schreiber says more needs to be done. he filed a lawsuit in hopes it will force the department to change policies and better train its officers. the colorado springs planned parenthood shooter will undergo a mental competency exam soon - despite efforts from his attorneys to push off the examination.

healthcare workers are heading home today after learning crucial healthcare something far beyond what they know now. 9news reporter shows us how first responders here in potentially life- saving lesson. in arvada.. doctor andrea she and several of her colleagues are spending part of their week in the metro area. learning about "we've been riding on some of the calls, we've hospital system and how they receive enough. until you rican province of guanacaste. has nothing like it. "what they're trying to do is develop an ems, first-response system down there that their community can depend on." doctors there often transport vehicles.. which different skill-set than the ones have. training at the district.. learning properly transport patients. "the aim of this safer. so, that's our goal. we're better prepared, we're going to help better, and the outcome for every patient is going to be the best that we can provide." a goal first- responders here. say they're happy to help them achieve. at the orchard town center in westminster. it should be operations as usualy during the reorganization. investigators are trying to determine whether a takata airbag is responsible for another driver dying in a crash. in question is a crash involving a 20-07 honda civic last year. records show the inflator exploded sending metal fragments into the driver. if the takata inflator is to blame, it would be the 11-th death linked to a defective air bag made by the company. this investigation may lead to an expansion of an already massive recall involving a lot of different car models that have these inflators installed. uber is taking customer complaints about their drivers going too fast seriously. the ride-sharing company says it'll use a driver's smartphone to check their speed. that technology is used by lots of corporations right now...and it's pretty accurate. if uber gets a complaint...they're promising to take the proper action. some drivers in texas couldn't believe what they
