the university of denver is investigating what police are calling forcible fondling cases. another one happened at iliff and josephine. they searched the area but could not find the suspect. forcible fondling is an fbi crime definition of unwanted forms of sexual contact. and this is the third reported case at the university since last wednesday. 21st. d. u. says that happened near east wesley and south high. the next one was reported three days later near asbury and josephine. investigators believe the suspect in all three forcible fondling reports was a six foot tall man and in the first case he was wearing a hat with ear flaps. again, right now, police are still gathering information, and they are not completely clear if it is the same person in each of these events but they believe it is. flames broke out around

on welten street and 24th. 11 people were inside and escaped the fire, and one man has serious injuries today. now, the people who live there, describe this building as transitional housing for people who don't have a permanent home. and one man who escaped the fire with his family says the smoke was so thick, he could barely see his way out. >> you couldn't see. you couldn't breathe. nothing. if i would not have known the layout of the building, i would not have made it out. we lost everything. all of our important paperwork. everything in the room. it is devastating. >> the fire burned down a staircase inside that home. it also brought down a power line behind the building. firefighters have not determined exactly where the fire started or how it began. and another man had just moved into his home two weeks ago. an after last night's fire, at the house in evergreen, he is back now looking for another place to stay.

hi there. i'm meteorologist danielle grant in the backyard. near 60-degree day in denver in january. that? if you're a snow lover, next week certainly looks to be good. we are talking about some big- time snowfall around us here. and just not the case today. and up in the mountains, it has day. we will be talking about fresh powder moving in sunday, monday, and into tuesday, though. and overlooking downtown denver, and off in the distance, the foothills, looking mighty fine in all of that blue. we are at 53 at the airport. and some spots along the eastern plains already climbing into the low 60s. ray, burlington, i'm looking at you, 14 in kremling. and low 50s at the airport. mostly sunny skies. the winds just a hair breezy out of the southwest. the humidity is relatively low. in the backyard, the temperatures are slowly climbing up in the upper 40s. and give it some time. once the sunshine soaks in this afternoon, we will be looking

degrees. out at the airport in downtown, low 60s along the eastern plains. 30s and 40s to the high country. it really should be a nice end to the workweek. again, tomorrow, another beautiful one. most of the midsection of the country, is looking nice and quiet. we have been tracking some snow showers, pushing in, across the great lakes. and also down across the mid atlantic coastline, into florida, and then on to the northwest, and another disturbance moving in for them. meanwhile, around here, it has been quiet. quiet and calm. until tomorrow morning. that's when things start to speed up. as far as the winds go. i will fast forward and you can see by about 8:00, 9:00 tomorrow, the wind gusts in the 50 mile-an-hour range, with the foothills, and around here, 15 to 20 mile-an-hour gusts possible. it is still going to be a breezy one. leading us into saturday morning. so just a wee little disturbance pushing through the high country and that is going to allow for the wind speeds to kick up just a bit. here it is, 7:00 tomorrow morning, we will wake up to a few clouds around the denver metro area and kind of keep them in the forecast, for most of your friday. and by 5:00, a couple of light

northern and central mountains. but we stay dry, for eastern colorado. dry for the first half of the weekend. and then we will be talking about big sometime snow, so far out at the airport, 26.1 inches, average, around 57. so looking ahead toward this next storm system, certainly looks like the central and southern mountains will have the greatest amount of snow. but the denver area just sitting on the fringe kind of between the 8-12 inches, keeping us going through about tuesday evening. tonight, 31. just a couple of high level clouds out there. really mild and comfortable. and we stay in the 50s for the start of the weekend. and then that snowfall develops on sunday. bringing us the heaviest snow and the gusty winds, on monday, and cool temperatures, kicking

a french police official says a woman has been detained at a disney land in paris shortly after police ap henned a plan she was with who was found with two handguns and a koran. the official says the woman did not appear to be armed. no other suspects are currently being pursued at the park, which is east of paris. we are now learning more about a colorado woman who died while living in austria. the 25-year-old was working as a nanny there. lauren mann's body was found in her apartment in vienna. police there believe ler death may have been -- her death may have been a homicide but this morning we learned the autopsy has not revealed a cause of death.

she graduated from c. u. in 2012 with a degree in music. scientists are trying to figure out where schizophrenia comes from believe they have zeroed in on one thing in particular. a normal brain process that somehow gets kicked into overdrive. the new research links the disorder to a problem with a trimming back, or a pruning of connections between brain cells, which is a process that occurs naturally, in adolescence and early adulthood. christs now believe that if that process goes on too long, a person's risk of schizophrenia may go up. and researchers say the new findings could some day lead to ways to treat this disease, and even prevent it. the world health organization says the zika virus is spreading explosively. and they have called an emergency meeting, of health exertses that will take place on -- experts that will take place on blond. it will determine whether zika should be declared an international health emergency. the prediction is there could be as many as 4 million cases of zika over the next year.
