and carolina panthers will sport on their jerseys - are a product of colorado. fiberlok - a fort collins company - makes the patches... and they've done it for the last 4 years. this year- the design features a golden 50 - with the outline of the san francisco skyline - with the lombardi trophy. the owner says knowing that the hometown team will wear their patches makes this year extra special. many different groups are making bets with their counterparts in the carolinas. the colorado symphony has agreed with the carolina symphony that the losing team's conductor will wear the winning team's jersey for one performance. the zoos are in on it too: the losers will wear the winner's jersey and greet guests with signs congratulating the winners. and then there's this.

emanuel in denver has made a wager with a synagogue in charlotte. they're calling it "a super mitzvah" - or both will raise the winner will get 2-thirds of the pot... and the loser gets a third. even the fundraising goal has significance. perhaps the jewish number for life will give the broncos a little something extra in the game! we've also heard that presbyterians and methodists in denver are competing with their counterparts in charlotte to see who can collect more food for the needy. we have links for how you can participate in these competitions in the 9news app.

expert warned that the zika virus could spread to north america and even africa.. one doctor at the university of colorado hospital is putting it in perspective. 9news reporter vida urbonas is here with more.. this doctor says there is a very low risk that this virus will spread throughout the united states. this doctor says it's especially unlikely that it will infect many people here in colorado. but people across the country .. and even here in colorado are still concerned. folks like suzanne slade has been planning a trip to puerto rico in april .. but is changing her plans to travel since she and her husband have been planning to concieve. she doesn't want to expose herself fearful zika could cause birth

and doctor daniel pastula, a neurologist at university of colorado hospital, says there is concern about birth defects linked to the zika vifus but doctor's cant say for sure zika is responsible also .. as the virus is spreading throughout the americas,.. dr pastula says an oubreak on u.s. soil would probably be isolated, and brief.. and almost impossible in colorado. zika can cause a fever, rash, joint pain, or bright red eyes. pastula says only a fraction of those infected show symptoms, and the cdc says, they're typically mild. 80 percent of people never know they even got infected. good news for the markets this morning.... china's stock markets recovered today - following a 3-day downward trend.

part of that was due to the bank of japan's surprising announcement: they're introducing a negative interest rate policy. the move is aimed at boosting a stumbling economic recovery and ward off deflation. this news has pointed american stock futures higher today. the 3 markets are all at least a half- higher now. government will estimate for fourth-quarter economic growth. this is a lesson in snow storm... having ice on the roads... and you can tell. cars are sliding through this ice- rink of an intersection - and another car backs up to avoid them. and buses are skidding through at high speeds - one even turns sideways! people were gathering around to watch - and some couldn't even stay standing on the ice! amazingly - no accidents happened here! now is a big time to
