week or so, and now it finally is here. it was a 2-pronged storm with the wave last night delivering big snowfall in the high country, many ski resorts 6-12 inches and now round 2 could produce potentially another couple feet in the mountains. this is the view at winter parm. tough to see-- park. tough to see the slopes, mother nature reminds us winter is back with a vengeance. usually we see a great landscape view, not the case tonight as the snow continues to come down. little light snow here and there as it inching closer. the center of the storm system is sitting out there across the coastline of california bringing them some widespread rain from central california to southern california. it pushes on shore overnight and by tomorrow morning it will be sitting out there toward the 4 corners just slowly inching a little closer to our state.
5:18 pm
morning, that is when it starts sitting in southeastern colorado shifting into southwestern kansas and that is when we see the biggest upslope event with the northeasterly winds plowing into the front range and that will allow us to see impressive snowfall. it will be a long duration event. it is kicking off and we won't see the snowfall let up until tuesday afternoon. it will be long but we will do it together. the snow continuing to come to the western slope, glenwood springs, carbondale, telluride, lake city. up and down the i-25 corridor from wall stnburg, trinidad, to fort collins, the southern suburbs in douglas, albert counties, the southwestern suburbs, littleton, you will probably see more snow and heavier bands pushing through. it is encompassing the denver metro area pushing into the

finally reaching weld county. it is spreading across the eastern plains. i-70 light snowfall coming down towards burlington, it is coming for you. the timing is here, it is starting. the heaviest snowfall will be tomorrow afternoon. 3:00-4:00, it continues until tomorrow evening. late. then everything moves out by tuesday afternoon. again, overall totals about 2 feet in the mountains, some isolated spots, potentially up to 3 feet. there is a ton of moisture with the pacific storm system and around the plains i am looking at the 8-16 number with the higher figures, a little closer to the foothills and the southwestern suburbsism traveling will be treacherous, especially tomorrow night. that is when i think we have the worst of the wind gusts along the eastern plains up to 35 miles an hour and possible blizzard-like conditions out there. ranchers, take precautions because i think you are going to have the worst of the winds from basically sterling south towards burlington into lamar.
5:20 pm
snow continues to fill in. i have one little caveat, though. by 2:00-3:00 in the morning, some of the snowfall coming in off the palmer divide, some of that moisture will be squeezed out a bit. we might have a break 2:00-6:00 a.m. from castle rock north to denver. meanwhile, a good upslope for those in northern colorado reaching towards the cheyenne ridge and look at that, 8:00-9:00, are you heading to work? crossing your fingers it is snow day. widespread snow for northeastern colorado, 3:00-4:00, if are picking up the kids, it will be a mess. this is the timing i think will be the worst as far as the winds because the center of the storm is in southeastern colorado. we have the counterclockwise flow and that ushers northeasterly winds and all the moisture directly into the front range. 6:00 tuesday morning, again, it will be a messy commute. just take things slow. by lunchtime the storm system
