of control when our teams win championships. denver police are working on a security plan for sunday night... and they're asking fans to help them out. 9news reporter colleen ferreira is live in lower downtown. colleen - denver police want people to celebrate safely. i spoke to boulder police, denver police, jefferson county sheriff and several other jurisdictions. you can expect to see extra patrols everywhere - especially when it comes to dui saturation patrols. police are not releasing their specific security plans, they usually keep those confidential. so far, we've seen

bowl too. 9news anchor cheryl preheim is live from the team hotel in santa clara. law enforcement is prepared for anything, cheryl. the city of san francisco is ramping up security too. more than a million people are expected to visit for the super bowl - the only thing bigger than the crowds might be the security.. it's a big enough effort to be considered a "national security event." the f-b-i is leading 60 agencies on the ground, in the air, and at sea. visitors can expect to see bombing- sniffing dogs, car sweeping x-ray machines, sharp shooters on roofs, and surveillance on the ground. all that information goes back here: to the "f-b-i central command center". one challenge law enforcement is facing: the stadium is 45 miles from san francisco, where most of the festivities are happening. and that's a lot of roads, bridges and coastline to watch. and "operation team player" has cracked down on counterfeit sports-related items. it was a joint u-s immigration and customs enforcement.... and they seized nearly items worth about items were merchandise.... like accessories, and other items. week - where levi's and i had the chance yesterday - my buddy, 9news take in sights of san francisco. the celebrations aren't only

noel brennan has your top stories this morning. boulder police are warning about a kidnapping scam. earlier this week, a man got a call from a phone number out of mexico. the caller said a group kidnapped the man's daughter her hostage for a woman then got like the man's the man agreed to send 15-hundred western union to an account in mexico. turns out the man's daughter was just fine. if you get this type of call, call 9-1-1. for the first time - the hillary clinton and bernie sanders went head-to-head on the debate stage. with just days to go before the new hampshire primary, they didn't hold

polls show sanders has the big lead in new hampshire - up by 20 points. he and clinton chose different tactics last night. clinton highlighted her similarities to sanders - saying they share some big, progressive goals. sanders, pushed for big changes - ending the influence of big money and universal healthcare. meanwhile, clinton said she wouldn't make promises she couldn't keep. it got heated when the conversation turned to political donations. clinton said that only bernie sanders would say a woman running for president exemplifies the establishment. while the democrats debated, former first lady

out on the her son, jeb bush. town hall in derry, night. time a republican presidential candidate and his appeared together bush said his mom is supporter and wanted to be by his side. he also said he's proud of his dad proud to be a bush. president obama wants to impose a huge new oil tax. he says the money would be used to pay for a new wave of clean transportation programs. the tax would be paid for by oil companies...but many analysts bet a good portion would be passed along to consumers. it's not clear exactly where along the production chain the fee would be levied or whether it would be imposed on american oil that is not exported. regardless, it's very unlikely to get through the republican- controlled congress. honda is recalling an additional two- point-two million honda and acura

the driver's air bag inflators made by takata can explode. honda's recall includes older model years dating back to 2005, as well as some newer 2015 and 2016 models. replacement parts will not be available until late summer and honda has told dealers to provide loaner cars for free to any customer who asks for one while waiting for repair. the recall brings the number of vehicles recalled in the u.s. due to takata inflator problems to about 24 million. the problems have caused at least 11 deaths and 139 injuries worldwide. subway's jingle "5- dollar foot-long" was catchy- but now, the new price doesn't work so well in that. but first, lets
