6:09 am
it was a completely different cam newton. >> we had opportunities. wasn't nothing special they. did we dropped the ball, turned the ball over, had sacks, threw passes, and that's it. they scored more points than us. >> reporter: how disappointed are you? >> we lost. >> reporter: short and blunt from the league's mvp who is normally at a loss for words. he decided just to walk out 2.5 minutes later. 6:09 right now. chipotle will close its restaurants across the country for 4 hours plus today addressing food safety issues and the food-borne illnesses that put a major crimp in their bottom line. several other restaurants are hope benefit from the closing. high teens and 20s here. we will have the valley areas

6:33 am
by the cbs cameras, sort of frowning and looking glum after the broncos sealed the victory. peyton is now tied with his brother with two super bowl wins, and many thought he was being sully, and others said he looks that way all the time. >> the one in the polo is shaking his head that's right. fans are rushing to get their gear. sports authority stores were packed last night, and this morning, it's no exception. stores opened early to help you out. joining them is our own tarhonda thomas. everyone is joining them getting their swag this morning. >> reporter: oh, yeah, they were here at 6:00 this morning when the doors opened. i see one shopper. sir, what are you looking for? >> the championship gear. >> reporter: they say the hoodies will be big this year. >> the champions. they did it. >> reporter: i will give you a tip. some things are running short.

this is the last one left, and just in case someone wants to get something for me, hint, hint, it's a ladies' small. this t-shirt is as close as you can get to von miller because they are selling like hot cakes, and of course, number 18, peyton manning, everyone wants this jersey because they are thinking he may retire, and this may be the last chance to season. those are the hot items, and you can see all the merchandise lined up here. night alone. ma'am, don't run away from me. don't do it to me. you were thinking of the >> i got one. >> reporter: good! i'm glad you did. >> born and raised fan. >> i tweeted the cutest picture of a woman who had an arm full of stuff, and she said i'm going to back to town to go show off. fan. morning.
6:35 am
i had a feeling the von miller stuff would go really fast this morning. the other big question on people's mind beside when to get the championship merchandise, when is the parade? the plane is expected to land in denver at 3:30 this afternoon, and tomorrow the broncos' country will welcome their team back with a super bowl victory parade, starting at noon on union station, traveling down 17th avenue to broadway, and then on to broadway, passing civic center park, and from there, west on 13th avenue and north on cherokee street, ending at the city and county building. the rally will start there at 1:00 p.m., going until 2:30. you can batch the whole thing live here on channel 9 from noon to 2:30. thank you, corey. 6:41 right now. the governor of north carolina was involved in a car crash right after the super bowl last night. governor pat mccroy seen here in file video, his car was rear ended by a mercedes less than

6:44 am
how has he done? he's now the best general manager in the nfl. he completely rebuilt the franchise, changed the culture, and 2 years ago they were blown out in the super bowl. he realized the team had to be changed, and he changed it. wade philips was out of coaching, how is that possible? sometimes the best moves. they didn't want to hire him. he was the fallback guy. pretty good fallback guy. >> those are all amazing story lines. >> and there's 20 more, but those are the best ones. >> we want your take on peyton manning which we will get in the 7:00 hour as well. >> all right. >> move over to channel 20 with us. stay tuned for the 7:00 a.m. show. i just want to ask ron what he thinks of puppymonkeybaby. >> outstanding. >> almost as popular, the action on the commercials as the action on the field. humor was the key to get a lot of people talking. >> man, i might just chill
