now to the nevada caucuses where hilary clinton lost her big lead in the polls to bernie sanders. a heated contest is playing out between the two. both candidates virtually in a dead heat held rallies last night trying to shore up support. 23 delegates are up for grabs in nevada where the caucuses get underway starting at 11:00 this morning. in the information center, vida urbonas, 9news. presidential candidate donald trump says he is boycotting apple over the company's refusal to comply with a court order that would unlock a phone used by one of the san bernardino terrorists. apple has been under scrutiny for not giving up special software that would allow the feds to unlock the phone. apple's ceo says the government wants something the company does not that. the fbi believes data on the phones could track down leads connected to isis. >> boycott apple until such time

to pay their respects to scalia as he lay in repose in the supreme court's great hall yesterday. the justice spent three decades on the high court and is widely guarded as one of the most conservative justices in history. scalia's son, one his nine children, is a atlantic priest and will give the homily today. the justice died unexpectedly last weekend. the dynel lane trial is nearing an end. she is accused of cutting a baby year. michelle wilkins to her craigslist after her baby closed when wilkins was about to leave she says lane shoved her in addition bedroom, ended up smashing a bolt on her head. all she could think about was her baby girl that she named aurora. aurora did not survive the attack.

more than 70-mile-per-hour winds hit chicago forcing several buildings to evacuate. take look at that woman. >> feel so bad for her. >> the dangerous wind gusts left nearly 100,000 people without power. world news now. we will stick with the wind. tropical cyclone winston has made landfall in fiji. it's being called the most powerful storm ever recorded in the hemisphere. it's packing winds of 180 miles per hour with wind gusts over 20 miles per hour. that is equivalent of a category 5 hurricane. there are several reports of damage. flooding a major concern. the capital city is without electricity. u.s. fighter jets bombed an isis training compound in libya. the u.s. fighter jets were targeting a terrorist linked to

when he looks away she pulls out her gun. police say the two fired at each other. he ended up running away without the money. her shots just missed his head and his bullets went through her side and hit a cooler. she is expected to be okay but her husband says she should have just given the robber the money. the gunman was caught by police. sad news. former major leaguer tony phillips adied of a heart attack in arizona. he played 18 seasons in the mappingers for six teams. he was a member of the oakland athletics world series championship team. this is a play right now at second base where he was. sealed the a's sweep of the giants. he played 2161 major league games and retired in 1999. he was just 56 years old. the man who created several of the greatest comic book characters in the marvel universe says he will only appear at a few more conventions. stand lee is 93 years old.

pilot noticed there was a problem and alerted air traffic control that he was going down. the aircraft was salvaged yesterday. the ntsb says it will now take months to investigate the bell 206b chopper crash. the helicopter crashed into waters off of the arizona memorial visitors center on thursday critically injuring a 15-year-old boy. two others are in serious condition. in seattle, washington, a store clerk took matters into her own hands during an armed robbery. surveillance video from inside that store shows an armed rober and female clerk trading gunfire. so she starts to give him some cash in this video. when he looks away, she pulls out her gun. police say the two fired at each other. he ran off without the money. her shot just missed his head and his bullet went through her side of her abdomen and hit a cooler. she is expected to be okay. her sus says she should have given the robber the money.

welcome back. we are waiting to see if cdot will open one lane of i-70 today after a rockslide shut a portion of the highway earlier this week. weather has really set back crews trying to get rid of the risk of new rockslides in again wood canyon. it caused serious damage to the area. the largest rock that came down in monday's slide was the size of an suvs. repairs are expected to cost two to $5 million. may take up to two months for repairs. be sure to log on to 9news.com for updates. >> crazy too see how big the >> yeah. and belen, no winds today? we will have a front pushing you are going to notice the kick up. forecast. highs in the 60s. and you will feel the cooler temperatures tomorrow.
