we had a cold front that flew through colorado yesterday. we went from 62 yesterday to now 49 degrees. that's what we're going to have as our high. it could be warmer in the downtown area but we're going to see more clouds and good news, winds will be lighter. it's been a pretty windy week. we're happy today on this sunday. how can you not be when you take a look at this beautiful sun coming up over a basin, so bright and sunny out there. i think we're going to have some pretty nice skiing, snowboarding conditions. here on the front range, blue skies. a bit more clouds over the metro area. but still our temperatures are in the 30s and even 20s in lower spots and up over the divide temperatures are in the teens. highs for today are going to be in the 50s. some spots along i-25. i think we'll hit 49 at d.i.a. which is closer to where we should be this time of year. here's a timeline of what your sunday is going to look like.

we'll start out the sunshine. afternoon. around noon temperatures at 45 degrees, around 3:00 kind of quiet and calm. nothing wrong with that. temperatures at that time around 48 degrees. tomorrow you've got to go back to work. did you hear there's snow on the way? i'll talk about that in the full forecast. as for right now if you're beautiful conditions. breckenridge, gorgeous day. nothing but blue skies. a lot of people are going to be out there to hit the slopes. roadways looking relatively calm, relatively clear. right now, look at this. couple people getting out there but it's not impacting your drive time. minutes. green lights the whole way from 6th avenue to u.s. 6. no complaints there. even eastbound right now, drive time, relatively nice. 42 minutes. it's this afternoon that we'll see the traffic start to ramp up

wilkins' unborn baby who she named aurora had not survived the attack. the defense rested without presenting any evidence or calling any witnesses. closing arguments begin tomorrow morning. i-70 in glenwood springs will not be opened up as planned this weekend after another rock slide. workers are cleaning up rocks that fell yesterday. as long as they keep falling the lane will remain closed. we should get an update from cdot this afternoon. west alameda back open this morning after a two-car crash. the crash caused one car to veer off the road and hit a building near south julyan street. a fire spread to about 1200 acres. at last check this fire is only 10% contained. firefighters worked overnight to build lines around the fire. it started as a training

it was a little fluffier till a cat took a nap tin. but i checked with belen and she said the lowest we got, in december twice we hit zero. so this has been out in zero-degree weather. they're happy about it. they're polar plants. look how well they survive. they just need a little cleaning up. they'll be great. i'm saying take the gamble. it's a slight gamble, and plant. what color do you want? do you want to do these? >> sure, why not. >> first we put in a good potting soil. >> you really are going to make my hands dirty today. >> moisten the soil a little bit. makes it easier to plant. use a premium potting soil where it's organic. it's if full of wood chips, it's not soil. you've all done this before. we've got gravity and our fingers.

they say he did not resist arrest. we're trying to get more information right now. the latest, police say before 6:00 last night the mother was gunned down in the parking lot of an apartment complex. the woman who was with her three children is in serious condition. shortly after 10 p.m., about 15 miles away at a local car dealership, more shots rang out. a father and son were killed. about 15 minutes after that, just up the road at a cracker barrel restaurant, five people were shot in two cars. >> we keep learning more about what happened here and reports also indicating this man actually approached some of the people in that parking lot, tried to strike up a conversation before actually shooting at two different people. >> this happened over the course of seven hours. authorities initially said a 14-year-old girl was said but now they're saying she's actually alive but she too is

right now on balance of power, colorado democrats need to decide. are they with her, or do they feel the burn? with colorado caucuses just over a week away, we bring you voices from both campaigns. in a moment, bernie sanders' national press secretary. first, colorado governor john hickenlooper supporting hillary clinton. >> governor, thanks so much for taking the time. we appreciate it. >> of course. >> you're a super delegate for the dnc. like a majority of the super delegates, you've already publically endorsed hillary clinton in this race. a lot of bernie sanders supporters are pretty upset about this whole super delegate situation. what do you say to those folks? >> i think this primary is going to come down to a vote by vote battle. i don't think the super delegate issues are going to be as impactful as some people think.

usually when i answer hypotheticals i get myself in trouble. >> so you'd have to wait and entertain it once it happened, is what you're saying? >> i want to see how the primary campaign unfolds and exactly how everything comes together. it's the same with legislation. people are always -- if this comes to your desk, will you support it? well, it depends what finally comes to my desk and what looks like and some things you'd automatically support, in the end you don't support for one reason or another. just better to wait and see how a thing gets to you before you announce what you're going to do. >> a lot of democrats seem torn heading in to the march 1st caucuses. many think hillary is more experienced but they also have a hard time getting excited about her and they think bernie is true to their issues and comes across as more genuine. what should those folks be considering about hillary? >> i think if you look at what the country needs, it's

people want to get excited. i understand that. i have some old friends who grew up in upstate new york. one friend's father, a lifetime republican. hillary came up and she won him over. if you step back and look at what she's done, she's a remarkable candidate. rarely have we had someone so qualified to be president. >> why do you think she has such a big fight on her hands with bernie sanders then? >> i think part of it is just that. for a long time, large amounts of money have been spent with the sole purpose to diminish her. some of the stuff about the server and that turns out colin powell and condoleezza rice had the same issue using private servers, that the state department servers weren't reliable. each one of these, large amounts of money are being spent to broadcast it, to make it sound like somehow she didn't make the right decision or she's not

>> you're not concerned people won't just hear it as a flavor of socialist? >> we're not concerned at all. recently at a town hall senator sanders was asked what is socialism? what does that mean to him? he was frank. it means the top 1% of people in this country should not be the only folks benefiting from the quote/unquote american dream. democratic socialism to him means that education is a right. healthcare is a right. that's why he's calling for a medicare for all. we're not concerned with any of the attacks that the republicans might throw the senator's way because he has literally been saying the same kind of things for the last 30 years. he's been consistent in who he is, what he has fought for, and we're going to be able to make that case in this general election. >> i hear from a lot of democrats who feel like senator sanders is truer to their issues

but they also look at hillary clinton and say she's got the credentials. she's more experienced. what would you say to someone on the fence thinking about that issue? >> i think that's a great question. no one doubts that secretary clinton, of course she was secretary of state. no one doubts she has the experience. but senator sanders also has experience. he's been a legislator for the last 30 years. he's served in leadership in congress. but he also has something called judgment. and a lot of times when experience is not available to you, judgment is all that you have. senator sanders has shown time and time again whether it was voting no against going to war in iraq, whether it's standing up against disastrous trade deals like the trans-pacific partnership. >> the exit polls in the early states show a lot of senator sanders' support came from independents. i'm wondering how concerned the campaign is about colorado. because in colorado we have a closed caucus system. you had to have already been registered democrat, unlike
