peaceful, full of love, and she forgives her attacker. she says not a day goes by she doesn't feel her daughter in her life and this morning before going to court, she lit a candle for aurora at the memorial she set up for her in boulder. they are forever connected. she told me and 2 local newspaper reporters and a german reporter who gathered with her how she held her daughter days after the attack. >> it was a really, another example of the paradox of life being extremely beautiful and extremely cruel and i did all the things that, you know, a mom would want to do. i read to her, i dressed her. um, i held her. but knowing she wasn't-- that she was only present in spirit and not physically was a really

federal prosecutor told the judge francis should not be as a prostitute. francis works in massage business online claiming to offer extra services. a judge granted his release under a $10,000 bond. about 2/3 of the people who might have been exposed to a blood born illness at swedish medical center have been tested after the hospital fired the surgical tech who tried to swap syringes to steal a pain killer. we don't know how many patients tested positive for disease. 9 news reporter victoria sanchez says the testing process can take a long time. >> federal prosecutors say rocky allen used his position at hospitals in 4 different states to get his hands on the powerful pain killer, fentanyl. >> go to great lengths in order to feed the addiction, that does include things like drug diversion and putting other patient s at risk, lying, whatever it takes.

medical officer and is helping investigate allen and his time at swedish medical center where he allegedly tried to swap out a syringe of the drug with another substance. federal prosecutors say the former surgical technician has a blood born pathogen but not saying which. swedish is asking 2900 patients to be tested for hepatitis b, c, and hiv. >> you would expect in a population of 3,000 folks, that at least, you know, 6, 7, 8 people may come back or likely to come back positive just as a result of other type of contact, not necessarily as a result of exposure to this particular health care employee. >> interpreting the resulticize complicated. -- results is complicated. the health department takes the positive results and tries to figure out the origin by interviewing the patient. all the patients who test positive then get a second test. if that is also positive, the

for disease control where viral sequencing can help answer the question of which positive results stem from exposure at swedish. >> the testing process could take months, 2 hospitals in arizona and 1 in clorn where allen briefly worked and was let go is also offering patients testing. >> we still hear from people in colorado who wonder if, perhaps, they should be tested but haven't been contacted. >> swedish made an effort to make sure everybody who was possibly exposed has been contacted. that is the 2900 who have been contacted. if you haven't been contacted, you are not at risk for being exposed and we will hear, hopefully the next month or 2 about the positive results from this group, if any. >> thank you. any snow we got today didn't last long in the metio area, different story-- metro area, different story in nederland and genessee seeing a foot of snow. the flurries this morning were

reasonable expectations students are safe. we found schools are on heightened alert to do something, but what does that look like? who pays for it? that is unclear. >> we are always under the gun, trying to get funding, and we need better fundic, i think, for certain things like that. >> to make sure everybody understands parents can have an expectation their kids be safe in school is reasonable. the schools ought to conduct themselves reasonably in doing that. so much of that came down to noticing, caring, taking prudent steps and a lot of that does not take money. >> the legislature funds the colorado school safety resource center, it was created in 2008 to help small schools like holly, colorado. our research shows while most schools use or know of the center, some told us they have never used it or don't know who the folks are. if the state funded school

basically, i think the realty was we weren't able to move forward with an air show this year. >> we reached out to the organizer of both events, colorado sport aviation, didn't hear back. aurora tells us it hopes to have an air show in the future. parts of the 16th street mall are getting a face lift. mayor hancock announced the city will install more than 180 new street lights, led lights to cut energy usage and costs, they cost $2 million. the city hopes to start in september. denver is testing a new app to help people navigate the city. the mayor unveiled the go denver app, serves as a guide through town. it takes the user's destination and gives options based on price, feed, and carbon foot print. >> this is a great way to save money, to figure how you can move faster about the city and

hello, welcome back, cool and quiet in the 9 backyard. our most recent storm system is out of here. i am meteorologist kathy sabine and we are on our way to a very cold night tonight with forecast lows in the mid teens, our storm system creating trouble to the east and the eastern plains 50s. 47 average high for the date. at the airport above freezing, 36 degrees, winds northwest at 10. calm winds in the backyard with our current temperature at 40. our storm system brought about 1-3 inches of snow across the denver metro area with heavier amounts in the high country making for a spectacular scene for skiers and those that like to snow board, and why not? the 48-hour snow reports include 6 inches powder horn, 11 eldora and 17 monarch mountain area.

and travel advisories as our storm tracks into the southeast creating a severe weather scenario tonight. we have the threat of tornados, flooding rain, and wenter weather and travel advisories north of memphis up through chicago. airport delays are expected as you might imagine. heavy rain will impact travel across the gulf coast, overnight tonight and tomorrow where the severe weather threat will shift into the carolinas for large hail and damaging wind. around here, we say goodbye to our storms, set sights on a weak front tomorrow, not more than a wind shift. under mostly sunny skies, temperatures will warm up and all the stormy weather is east of dallas extending to cincinnati and into the northeast . high temperatures tomorrow warmer than average, we have a cool pool into the midwest and northeast, colorado with clearing skies, light winds, awfully cold. single digit lows expected in the high country and on the plains, mid teens and that is where we start tomorrow. even with the weak front backing
