relatively warm good commute. >> roads dried out very quickly. in fact, well before the end of the morning rush. today, not a sign of that as we take a live peek outside toward i-70. usually this is the first one to bounce around with those winds. today, so far so good. metro wide, accident count is fairly low. we have one to keep in mind across colfax and grape. both sides of colfax can see a minor delay. the corridor, we remain open through glenwood canyon for rock side cleanup. at 9:00 a.m. it shuts down through 4:00 p.m. that's when they're going to move more rocks out of the way. before and after the closure, they're using a pilot car to district traffic. a live look at your travel times. right now in the darkness we're up to great speeds right now.

we kick things off with an 8 or 9-minute commute. it's going to be an amazing two months. we might not even need the two months, folks, to be honest. >> well, donald trump is sounding even more confident that he's going win the republican nomination for president after taking home nevada. marco rubio and ted cruz came in second and third. colleen ferreira joins us now with some of the biggest takeaways from the caucus last night. >> well, donald trump is still winning, his third consecutive win after south carolina and new hampshire. he's winning by a lot over here. eventually someone will emerge as the undisputed trump alternative. you had marco rubio who came in second in nevada. he was hoping for his first outright win, but that didn't happen.

he went to bed as results were still coming in last night and ted cruz came in third. cruz is still saying he's the only republican candidate that can beat trump. now, experts say he needs to win his home state of texas on march 1st, but other southern states too and while the republican nomination, still technically up for grabs, trump says he just keeps on winning. >> we won the evangelicals. we won with young. we won with old. we won with highly educated. we won with poorly educated. i love the poorly educated. >> all right. well, if john kasich and ben carson wanted to convince people that this has not become a three-candidate race, nevada probably didn't help their cause at all, according to usa today. now we want to know, what do you think? super tuesday, six days away. we have a live facebook poll. go on our facebook page.

i know that he wants to work with the congress, and i hope that congress will work with him, chris. there's no reason for us to continue to have guantanamo bay -- >> obviously if people are terrorists, they need to be confined, and we need to make sure they stay in jail until whatever happens, but i think the president is right. i think we should shut down guantanamo bay. i think in the long run it will help us significantly. >> democratic voters in south carolina will vote in a primary this coming saturday. 5:36 right now. triumph. that's what michelle wilkins said she felt yet. darnell lane cut wilkins' baby if her womb. 9news reporter tarhonda thomas is here with more. tarhonda, michelle shared her thoughts with us in a personal conversation? >> she did. after all the cameras were gone

michelle wilkins came pack inside to talk about the attack, the woman who did it, and the baby girl who was lost in that attack. many of us recall this scene. police cars surrounding a longmont home where wilkins was attacked. she was seven months pregnant at the time. darnell lane was arrested for the crime that day. yesterday in court she was found guilty on all charges. michelle wilkins testified as part of this case. her painful experience gripped people around the world. a german tv station was alongside our 9news crew when michelle wilkins came inside for a more personal interview. she said she can't wrap her mind around the attack. she and her husband had named that baby aurora. she did not survive. after the attack, she and her husband got to hold aurora, and they felt her there in spirit. michelle felt that spirit was acknowledged when the verdict

>> there was a huge relief and -- i mean, my thoughts definitely went to her in that moment, to everything that my family has endured, to everything that i've endured that led up to that moment. and in that moment, i felt -- just seen. i felt like all that pain was acknowledged. >> after staying for months with her parents, michelle moved back to colorado. she lives in boulder and says there's been an outpouring of love and support from her community. she's reever cooed from -- recovered from her injuries but is still processing a lot of what happened. >> it's hard to understand how someone could to this. that's what michelle wilkins still says, but amazingly, she forgives her. >> to be able to forgive her

so much pain. forever. >> a lot of people on our comments page saying they have drawn so much from michelle wilkins. university of tennessee is working to clear peyton manning's name. the school filed a motion yesterday to take his name out of a sexual assault lawsuit filed against the school. six women filed the lawsuit earlier this month, claiming that ut did not handle sexual harassment complaints from athletes correctly. in the lawsuit, there was a complaint regarding a trainer that involved manning. at the time, he was the quarterback. it's said his name should be taken out of the suit. >> reuters predicting that's

filing. article. the potential bankruptcy filing has been expected after the englewood sports retailer january. talking. we know they're restructuring discussions with lenders. they're targeting 140 of their stores for closure. that's what a person close to the situation is telling the post. there's no time line when a filing would be made. sports authority has started to wind down operations in some locations, including the sports cast location and the location in greenwood village. >> batteries can no longer be shipped as cargo on passenger planes around the world. the batteries used in cell phones, laptops and other mobile devices have been blamed for several aircraft fires.

so far it's only been brought here by people who traveled to infected countries. most people who get the virus have mild symptoms or don't know they have it. but if a pregnant woman gets it, it could pose a risk to that child's development. now parents have to deal with super lice. it's spreading across 20 states so far and is resistance. they've not analyzed the information in colorado but it's found in kansas, new mexico, and arizona. the only way to get rid of it, strand by strand removal. >> are you itching? >> oh, my goodness. super lice. >> that's another thing to worry about. >> okay. well, forget about super lice. grab a coke, grab a smile. >> a lot of people are going to do that. conditions are rolling out and

going on. we're looking at quiet weather for the next couple of days. sunny skies here. this afternoon you will begin to see clouds form over the foothills. narrow high clouds. 40, 50 mile-per-hour gusts through the foothills. it is near 50. look for upper 40s to near 50 at lower elevations here with sunshine most of the day today. that's going to be true statewide. west, south, and east. we'll see the fair weather clouds coming up late this afternoon and evening. should have spectacular sunsets down through park county and into the arkansas valley later in the day. 40s, 50s around here. slightly warmer down south with 30s and 40s in the mountains. again, other than the front range foothills, generally not a lot of wind across the state. sunshine, 49 downtown. into the upper teens tonight. high clouds begin to drift in.

that's going to cool us tomorrow by a couple of degrees. we'll be in the 40s around here. looking at 60s by this weekend. it's only saturday. wind kicks up out of the southwest. dry, warm. i haven't heard of any problems so far. what's the update on that. >> well, i'm going the change that right now, marty. unfortunately we're keeping a close eye on u.s. 36. we're looking in the eastbound direction because we've got a crash reported on the approach to i-25. it's not visible with the slowdowns on our cdot camera. sky 9 is set to talk off in a few minutes. hopefully they will check that out for us, but westbound u.s. 36's location, we're going to watch that whole interchange right now. i-25 should start to slow down in a similar part of town. the southbound speeds approaching 84th avenue. colfax and grape. we have a crash in the clearing stages.
