republican nominee. or if marco rubio or ted cruz can break through and challenge him one- on-one. that's the only way you keep donald trump from being the nominee. >> let's drill down on it super tuesday. we don't have a gop winner in colorado because the state party said they didn't want one. we will have a democratic winter and i look to nevada as an instructor place where hillary clinton won by five points. colorado has less senior citizens and more whites which you would think goes for bernie sanders. >> helpful for bernie sanders and a lot of young people which is a great demographic for bernie sanders. i covered bernie sanders nomination and i don't think even he took his candidacy seriously. i don't think he had an expectation he would strike a chord as he has your keys taken on the most powerful political

bernie sanders has interestingly done well among hispanic voters especially younger ones. the generational divide we see with white voters we also see with hispanics. >> key for him is diversifying the base of support. >> and generating a big turnout and that's what he's failed to do in key states. democratic turnout down this year in the first degree eights compared with 2008 when barack obama generated a lot of turnout. it bernie sanders win the nomination which looks unlikely but not impossible, he needs to generate enough enthusiasm among supporters to get turnout to rise. republicans have seen record turnout in the first three states. >> how much of a difference does it make in a state like colorado with a closed caucus where you can't show up caucus day and say i want to be a democrat now. he doesn't get the benefit of support from independent. >> window hillary clinton does better among democrats and bernie sanders strength is

active in politics before. he does better among those voters so big advantage for hillary clinton >> let's talk about republicans super tuesday. where the most important states and stories to watch? >> two things to watch and one is the sweep of states. there is a possibility and this would be an extraordinary political achievement that donald trump will run the table and win all the contest on super tuesday and if he does that he's the nominee. if he won the dozen contests on super tuesday, he won south carolina and we never had a candidate that won new hampshire and south carolina and didn't get the nomination. history is on his side. the other state to look at his texas. ted cruz would like to be the alternative to donald trump and that's his home state. he's
