donald trump has been declared the winner much alabama, georgia, and tennessee. none of other republican candidates have been able to claim victory so far tonight. clinton tallied 544 to date. sanders has 142. >> ted cruz, 17. marco rubio 16. attention. more states vote, and more delegates are up for grab today than on any other day of the primary season. almost half of the 1237 needed for the nomination. clinton and sanders fight for 865 delegates tonight, plus 150 super delegates. about a third of the number nod.

not be choosing a winner today. thus, why the candidates have mostly skipped colorado for campaign visits, and why they're not spending money on ads. the last minute turn, an attempt to boost turn out. out of the roughly 900,000 registered democrats in colorado, only about 100,000 are expected to caucus tonight. joining us from buyers middle school. >> reporter: that crowd that you see behind me just really became pretty full about 15 minutes ago. if you drove by earlier in front of buyers middle school you would have noticed it really seemed like bernie sanders headquarters. there are tons of bernie sanders signs pupperred all over here. there are signs, a cardboard cut out, even water bottles. i asked a hillary supporter about that. they said signs were running late.

we are told that in the bigger areas, where the bulk of everything is going to happen, but a lot of people go into those classrooms to have conversations adel. >> nbc news is reporting that hillary clinton has won arkansas. that's the state where she once served as that state's first lady. the virus that has been declared an international public health emergency has come to colorado. for the first time, the health department here is reporting two cases of zika virus. the risk for coloradans is still very low. >> more than 100 cases of zika reported in the u.s., experts say it was only a matter of time before the virus came to colorado. >> i don't think this is a big surprise to anybody. >> reporter: tuesday, the state health department announced not one, but two cases of zika. adding both individuals traveled to an infected country recently. only that both have recovered.

found new evidence that links zika to a paralyzing condition. it can cause muscle weakness, loss of reflexes and numbness. scientists found nearly 90% of them had reported zika-like symptoms. every patient carried zika antibodies. prove of the infection. they're still looking for confirm a connection. a fire watch for wednesday has turned into a red flag warning for almost the entire everyone half of the state. low humidity, and dry conditions will be ripe for fires. the national weather service has issued a burning ban for tomorrow. a car crash killed a santos county deputy this afternoon.

veered veered across lanes and hit a parked car. a shooting critically injured one person this afternoon in the clayton neighborhood. denver police say one man was shot around 3:00. no one is in custody, police aren't offering any information about the suspect. that shuting but harrington elementary on a short lockdown. it happened about 8:30 at 26th avenue in pierce street. police say they were sitting in showed up. they told the men to get out of the car, police say he then shot one of them. the victim is expected to be okay. it's a 1998 green ford escort with coral lightning plate --

reporting a lead in a homicide case from late january. the search for this man is connected to a shooting in mount belo. it happened january 23. police say the 29-year-old vernell jenkins was killed. allergy season is starting a bit earlier this year. elm and juniper are lrld pollinating because of the warmer weather. if you take seasonal allergy medication, it's important to start taking it early. >> if you have taken allergy medicines in the past, i'd start at the monetary basis, if you're not taking them already. and if you are trying to take them, i would just double down and try to be more precise about taking them on a daily basis. these are the things that will help you have fewer symptoms going forward.

fifth straight division tighting, they are raising ticket prices for the fifth straight year. a police dog in colorado springs is credited with helping capture one of the most wanted. the k-9, brock, and his partner, officer brian kelly approached the suspect. at first, hernandez refused to turn himself in, but brock convinced him otherwise. >> gave him several k-9 warnings. i told the police k-9, he needed to get on the ground, or release the dog. he decided to make the right choice and surrender. >> that right choice has led hernandez to the el paso county jail. he's wanted on several felony warrants. it's one thing to read about world war ii, and another to have lived it. >> reporter: there are those

37 in leadville. currently, the airport reporting light winds out of the southwest, but temperatures are still mild. studios. we're still close to 50 degrees here at the 6:00 hour. almost the 7:00 hour now, and we are tracking the wind. winds continue to increase over some of the higher passes from 30 to 40, even 50 miles per hour. gusty winds, low humidity values and warm temperatures, adding to the increase in fire danger for us across the front range and eastern plains. we do have high wind warnings out for southeastern wyoming. areas shaded in purple, already gusty winds impacting travel for those heading northbound out of denver. up into southeastern wyoming. all part of a fast moving weather system that's going to cross the state tomorrow. bring a quick blast of snow to the northern and central mountains, about 1 to 4 inches of snow. lower elevations will be dry, but windy. the cold air slides just off to the east of us, following the

carry one storm into the pacific northwest, and another one across the midwest. highs tomorrow will be warmer. low 60s, but gusting, downsloping winds will crates areas of blowing snow on i-70 for a time. and also create issues on the far eastern plains. in the mountains, again, a quick blast of snow coming in. then the skies clear. then we're really on our way to kind of a quiet warm weather pattern, as we finish out this weekend, heading into the first weekend of march. no travel advisers for the northern and central mountains, in in spite of the fact that we have the snow coming. across the eastern plains with mild weather out west, but gusty winds will push temperatures into record territory in southeastern colorado. low 60s for denver, greeley and fort collins. along the front range, even without a high wind advisory,
