9news reporter tarhonda thomas is here with the results . tarhonda, good morning. good morning, cheryl. bernie sanders has been gaining momentum-- especially among young voters-- in ...but analysts said... the real test was whether those voters would show up to caucus for him. "long lines" in these photos-- they did. a big focus on colorado... and it paid off for him. sanders got 58 percent of the colorado... and it paid off for him. sanders got 58 percent of the vote. clinton has 41 percent. that's with 84 percent of the precincts reporting. if you recall, eight years ago - hillary clinton lost here

barack obama. overall republican because the colorado republican party decided not to select an overall winner. they don't want their delegates to be bound to one candidate-- in a race that's changing minute-by-minute. for example-- will anyone "drop out" after the super tuesday results. we'll see. trump certainly is staying in the race. he carried seven states. but those states don't include colorado-- since, again, the state republican party didn't declare a winner. we can actually break down the race between hillary clinton and bernie sanders... county-by-county. you can look at more caucusing results... at 9news.com nationally -- trump was declared the winner in seven states: alabama, arkansas, georgia, massachusetts,

and virginia. ted cruz won in his home state, texas -- he also won in oklahoma and alaska. marco rubio won the gop caucuses in minnesota. clinton won in seven states: alabama, arkansas, georgia, massachusetts, tennessee, texas and virginia. sanders won in his home state of vermont -- as well as colorado, minnesota and oklahoma. numbers are still coming in... we checked and trump now has 285 delgates... about one hundred behind him is ted cruz with 161... rubio has 87. that's still far short of the more than 12 hundred needed to win the nomination. on the democratic side - hillary clinton also has a commanding delegate lead - roughly three times the number sanders has at this point. her total includes the delegates won last night - plus the superdelegates. they're allowed to

wish and they heavily favor secretary clinton. she is more than one third of the way to the roughly 24 hundred delegates needed to be the nominee. new this morning -- a man was taken to the hospital ... after this crash overnight. the car flipped on its roof... in the middle of south broadway in denver... near louisiana. we're making calls to find out how badly the man was hurt. another rollover crash blocked part of colfax overnight. police say the man was likely drunk... when his ford explorer hit a traffic light... and flipped at colfax and cherry street. city crews were called in to fix it before the morning commute. denver police responded to a stabbing early this morning. it happened at galapago and wesley around one a.m. dpd told 9news reporter noel brennan a man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. we don't have any suspect information at this time.

overnight... denver police are looking for the driver who hit a person near tremont place and park avenue in denver. officers say the victim has serious injuries. police are looking for a black lincoln sedan with license plate number q-k-i- 2-8-5. the car has damage to the passenger side mirror. a man accused of shooting his own father is scheduled to be in court today in arapahoe county. deputies say they responded to an emergency call last year and found jonathon ryan's 71-year-old father shot in the head. he did not survive. we don't know led up to the shooting. ryan faces murder charges, among others. another colorado law enforcement officer has lost his life. a las animas deputy died in a crash. now investigators are trying to determine what made him veer off the road and slam into a parked car and roll over. troopers say the crash happened when deputy travis russell was driving

avenue in trinidad. he was rushed to the hospital but later died. csp says deputy russell was on duty but was not responding to a call at that time. an autopsy will determine how he died. one of colorado's largest oil and gas companies is cutting back its operations in the state. anadarko petroleum will have only one drilling rig operating in the state this year...that's down from an average of seven in 2015. anadarko will spend about $500 million dollars this year in the denver- julesburg basin...a year ago they were expecting to spend nearly 2-billion dollars. the massive decline in oil prices is to blame. a new york court will not throw out a fraud case brought by the state's attorney general against donald trump and his now defunct trump university. new york a-g eric schneiderman alleges that trump university defrauded students who signed up for the course expecting to learn trump's secrets to making money in real estate -- tuition for the course topped out at $36,000. trump's lawyers argue the suit

once again after ... 340 days weightless. the moment crews carryied kelly out of the capsule was pretty incredible. kelly and cosmonaut mikhail kornienko returned to earth yesterday. their extended stay was part of an effort to study how a long spaceflight to mars would effect the body. that would take about a year and a half scientists plan to compare blood samples from astronaut kelly

former astronaut mark kelly. the purpose of the trip was to try and figure out if humans could survive a trip to mars which would take a year and a half. the samples will give researchers clues into whether kelly's chromosomes changed during his journey. doctors are checking him out and he hopes to be back at home for dinner tonight. a police k-9 down in colorado springs helped to take down one of the region's most wanted criminals. the suspect -- vinecent fernandez was wanted for three felony

way to spend your day... snuggling baby goats. you may recall we told injanuary... the caromont farms in virgina put out a call for volunteers... they needed people to help bottle feed the babies while the moms could be milked to make cheese. more than two thousand volunteers signed up! there's even a waiting list. right now, about 100 baby goats -- or kids live on the farm. they have to be bottle-fed four times a day...
