first 15 contests, it takes an outright majority to win. hillary clinton is half way to clenching the nomination and her lead widened when including super delegates, there are caucuses saturday in kansas, kentucky, nebraska and a primary in louisiana sunday. democrats will debate in flint, michigan. a 66-year-old woman is in critical condition after hit crossing the streeth in the south end of the 5-points neighborhood. denver police are looking for a 1998 lincoln town car that drove away from the crash. the passenger side view mirror fell off after hitting the woman and there is damage to the quarter panel. the woman is believed to be homeless in icu at denver health. witnesses saw multiple people in that car. >> we would encourage those passengers in that vehicle to come forward and tell us what

serious for them. >> so an electronic bill boards are asking people to be on the look out for the lincoln town car qki-285 license plate. call crime stoppers if you have information. the el paso county sheriff's office is investigating a plane crash near palmer lake 10 miles south of larksburg. caroline kraung sent us these photos. the faa said there were two people on board the plane. authorities have not released how they are doing. the sheriff's office said there were 2 trains on a railroad track advised to stop to avoid the crash. both the faa and ntsb are investigating. it sparked a grass fire but that has since been extinguished. you heard and probably felt the wild winds, it has been brutal from the foothills to the plains and dry out there.

are watch-- levels are down so we are watching for high fires. this, as we are getting fresh snow in the mountain. matt renoux shot this in silverthorne, there has been strong winds and blowing snow, it makes it difficult to drive in. meteorologist danielle grant is in the backyard, hopefully hanging on to your hat. >> the umbrella, my gosh, it has been a tale of 2 different seasons across the state with the snowfall in the mountains, wild winds and warm temperatures across eastern colorado, it is a mixed bag, just the way we like it. the red flag warning is in place until 7:00, the entire i-25 corridor to the eastern plains, even parts of southwestern nugraphica and western kansas also a part of that, easily. 45, 50, 60 miles an hour wind speeds for a possibility throughout the remainder of the evening. right now, current wind gusts in

towards dia, fort collins, greeley, broomfield, and even around the foothills, 36 miles an hour gust in nederland and 60 miles an hour speeds for berthoud pass. cheyenne, 40 miles an hour speeds, i-80 and i-25 in wyoming will be gusty. the high wind warning until 8:00 for folks there with gusts as high as 65 miles an hour. it has been a beautiful day, tough to find any clouds around here. it has been the wicked winds whipping around the front range for several hours. current temperatures upper 50s, low 60s. it has been a remarkable day. few spots in the high country in the 30s but the storm system was a fast mover, 1-4 inches in the high country and on the way to nebraska. for the rest of the evening we

and repair crews are fixing the big pipe. holly street is shut down between east second and east fourth, a pretty good stretch. it is expected to stay closed until midnight. water service is expected to be restored between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. tonight. we are getting a first look at the sheriff deputy who cared yesterday in trinidad. colorado state patrol said travis russell was driving eastbound when his car veered across westbound lane, his patrol car hit an unoccupied suv before rolling on the passenger side. he was taken to the hospital where he later died. he was wearing a seat belt, he was on duty but not responding to a call for service when the crash happened. the entire incident is under investigation. an air force cadet is facing charges connected to a sexual assault, boulder police

sexually harassed a woman last year in the university hill area near cu boulder, the victim was with air force cadets the evening of the alleged attack. dna led to the arrest, he faces charges of sexual assault. sports authority filing for bankruptcy, some are wondering if the naming rights for the home field may be up for grabs again. sports authority pays $6 million a year for the naming rights to the stadium but the bankruptcy filing says the company has $50,000 in assets, a chapter 11 filing. the goal is to reorganize. marketing is a big part of that process. metro state professor, darren dubersmith says if they can, sports authority should hold on to mile high. >> look at the naming rights deals done now, 2-3 times the amount. if you want to talk about a good deal, putting your name on an nfl property stadium with the

nasa astronaut scott kelly is headed home to houston after he was brought back to earth after nearly a year in the space station, before he left the station he said one of the first things he would do when he got home was jump in his pool. >> kelly holdathize record as the american who spent-- holds the record as the american who spent the most days in space, tying into aerospace work in colorado, maya rodriguez is joining us with part of the story. i love that you are here on my last day. i love all the stories you do about the space program. >> i know, i appreciate that so much, mark. goodness, the whole point of the space mission is to see how the body reacts to sending such a long time in space. nasa wants to get a better understanding of that as they prepare to send humans to mars by the 2030s and plan to do that using the orion spacecraft which is under construction right here

space stations near littleton. one of the things they are working on is how to protect astronauts from the heavy radiation they experience on the way to mars. the commission could last 3 years so they will be checking to see what radiation effects kelly may have experienced during the year. the other side is physical tests involving kelly's identical twin who you just saw, former astronaut mark kelly here on earth. since they are genetically identical it gives an incredible way to compare and contrast changes between the 2, the blood work is getting checked at colorado state university. leaving the space station. >> certainly when we look at the data, there might be, you know, effects that are more significant than, you know, how i feel. but i think the hardest part is being isolated in a physical sense from people on the ground

60s metro area, same eastern plains, 65 burlington, low 70s lamar and pueblo, 30 s leadville junction. at the airport we cooled but by a couple degrees only, we had plenty of sunshine, it looks so deceiving, the second you step out you are going to feel the west-northwesterly winds sustained about 31 miles an hour at the airport and you can see humidity around 13%, it is bone dry, we need wet weather and it looks like it might be coming. we just have a while to wait. here in the 9 backyard our temperature readings coming at us about 5 say degrees, really should be a nice night. temperaturewise. but it is just the pesky winds we are dealing with all night long to early tomorrow morning before they start to weaken. 40 miles an hour speed in fort collins, broomfield, aurora 48. 41 centennial. 30 miles an hour range black

50 miles an hour speeds across loveland pass and shifts toward wyoming and nebraska along i-80 a blustery drive. check ow wind reports, 70 miles an hour speeds in cheyenne, brigsdale and broomfield. dia 53 miles an hour gust at 2:00 p.m. and fort collins 45 miles an hour speed. we go throughout the remainder of the evening. you can see things picking up a bit. by about 10:00-11:00, gusting 50 miles an hour range but by 8:30-9:00 tomorrow things quiet quite a bit along i-25 corridor and tomorrow afternoon we are looking at speeds more in the teens and 20s in the foothills, something they can definitely hang on to. tonight. eastern colorado as well as parts of kansas and nebraska. the cold front is what we are waiting on. it digs in the next couple hours more. it will be a fast mover and pushes out. we have another mild couple days

looks to push into the state friday, again, whipping up the winds and not really bringing all that much wet weather. around here it has been pretty quiet. just a couple rain showers dotting the horizon across nebraska and kansas and here in town, what you see is what you get, a couple light flurries along the continental divide but that is about it. the remainder of the evening looks pretty good. 10:00 tonight, once the front digs through we might have few light rain showers across the plains but i wouldn't count on that much. a lot of folks would like to see wet weather but it looks like we have to wait for the we could. few more cloudinize creasing tomorrow, partly cloudy and temperatures warm. back to mid 60s and tomorrow evening we will be looking at mostly cloudy skies around the area. comfortable upper 20s northern colorado, low 30s eastern plains, teens and 20s in the mountains, in town, still windy. i know, we just want it to stop and looks like tomorrow morning
