colorado may not be doing caucuses in the future. the state could switch back to primaries. colorado democrats and republicans have tentatively agreed to push for the change. comes after the caucus tuesday night - which got a lot of complaints. happen by the 20-20 election. boulder's civic area will see lots of activity today... as crews will be taking soil samples in the area. the work will start at 7-30 this morning. some areas may be blocked off for a time as the work goes on. the soil samples are being collected as part of the work to improve the area. a u-s honor flag will fly at platte canyone high school for 13 hours -- one hour for every yaer corporal nate carrigan served the park county sheriff's office. the honor flag will be posted at

carrigan coached high school football. he was killed last week while serving a high-risk eviction notice in bailey. the honor flag has flown at memorials in the pentagon, the us capitol, and other memorials across the country. united airlines is joining a chorus of airlines who are asking for permission from the feds to fly to cuba. united would like to start service to havana from four of its largest hubs.....newark, houston, washington dc and chicago. the service would include a total of 11 roundtrip flights per week. denver's not on their flight list... so far, frontier is the only carrier asking for direct flights from denver to cuba. frontier asked for a total of four flights to havana -- three round trips from miami each day and one from d-i-a. all total, 8 airlines are bidding on these flights. the university of colorado's mascot -- ralphie, or csu's cam the ram have a good chance of making their debut on the tail of a

are taking a stance on the worldwide refugee crisis: they have formed a team of refugees. the 43 qualifying refugees will compete in the summer games in rio de janeiro under the olympic flag... using the olympic anthem. the international olympic committee says this should be a message of hope for the millions of refugees around the world. the next time we see new zealand's flag at the olympics - it could be a new design. voting starts today - to see if new zealanders want to change their flag to one that features a native silver fern. the old flag incorporates the union jack - which is seen as a reference to the country's colonial past... and too similiar to australia's flag. preliminary results will be announced at the end of the month. olympic workers are trying to re- assure everyone that steps are being taken to combat mosquitoes carrying the zika virus in rio de

to help with that - google's giving 1- million dollars to unicef. the money is meant to raise awareness, develop vaccines, and prevent the spread of the virus. google engineers, scientists and designers are also working with unicef to map and anticipate the spread of zika. a toddler is safe at home this morning .. thanks to a denver letter carrier .. who pulled her out of a busy street. 9news reporter vida urbonas joins us now .. and vida.. the postal worker says it was like something out of a movie. robert batley spotted the toddler yesterday morning .. he says the child was wearing a diaper .. standing in the median in the 7800 block of zuni street. batley says several cars drove by. no one stopped... so he did. he picked up the little girl.. and when he didn't find an adult looking for the toddler, he called 911. adams county

went door to door looking for the toddler's parents. they later found out the girl's grandfather was watching her. he apparently stepped away to go to the bathroom while she was watching a movie and didn't notice she was gone. it was at least 30 minutes from when the mailman found the girl and when the deputies found the grandfather. the grandfather now faces charges for misdemeanor child abuse.
