flights today.. they're still recovering from a power outage in atlanta that crashed their computer system.

thousands of passengers were stranded. today - the power company involved says-- it was delta's equipment - not theirs - that caused the outage. delta says they will continue to offer refunds and vouchers to passengers who are affected. former illinois governor rod blagojevich will be back in federal court this morning. he's currently serving a 14 year sentance in a colorado prison for corruption charges -- including trying to sell president a' llinois. blagojevich has served four years already. he will be resentenced today because some of the original charges were thrown out after an appeal. three girls died after drowning in a swimming pool in pueblo. two of the girls were sisters. the third-- was their babysitter. the girls were swimming at a mobile home park in pueblo yesterday. police say the two sisters -- age 3 and 5 -- were with their 17-year-old babysitter.

watching the girls -- and they're still trying to figure out exactly what went wrong... the pool ranges from two to 8 feet deep -- there are signs posted, but residents say that's not enough... police have not confirmed whether the children were residents in the mobile home community. a 14-year-old autistic girl from westminster girl will be waking up in her home this morning. she un walking her dog sunday night. alice caver and her dog "chip" were missing for more than 20 hours. police say her mother would routinely drop her off at a park near her home and allow her to walk the dog home. she never made it back sunday night. volunteers spread out across the area searching for the teen. monday afternoon, she walked into a great clips hair salon in superior. it was more than six miles from where she disappeared. stylist natalie ber-zoza

knew what to do. the teenager told police her dog got away. she chased it, hurt her ankle and then fell asleep in a field. caver was taken to a hospital to be checked out - doctors say she's okay... but her dog "chip" is still missing. a bicyclist who died while competing in boulder's ironman race-- veered outside of the designated racing lane. colorado state patrol says the woman -- 34-year- old michelle walters -- swerved out of the race lane and into traffic along highway 36 north. troopers say she was sideswiped -- and later hit by a truck's back tire. this is the second year in a row someone has died during the boulder

water slide in kansas city - died of a neck injury. the child was 10 year old caleb schwab - the son of a kansas state representative. he was riding the world's tallest water slide at the schlitterbahn water park. it could take months to figure out exactly what went wrong. the water park will reopen on wednesday, but the slide will remain closed indefinitely. if you're having issues registering your child for denver public schools -- join the club. the deadline to register is the 15th. but d-p-s officials say their system has been acting up. they say -- if parents haven't used the online system in the past year, their account will be gone, causing delays in this year's registration process. some parents signing up with new accounts are also experiencing delays. denver public schools says they are working on the issue and contacting parents. if you have any questions - you can call the parent portal hotline. the phone number

california continues to grow... the so-c "pilot fire" started on sunday -- and has burned about 45- hundred acres so far. it's spreading through the san bernardino mountains -- and is only 5 percent contained right now. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the blaze. people who lost everything in the west virginia floods back in june - have broken ground on a brand new community. it's called hope village. 40 families will build there.. they were the ones to dig up the first shovels fulls of dirt. more than 12- hundred homes were wiped out by

the federal aviation administration is hiring -- and it's expected to be a very competitive field. and more and more parents are budgeting for child care -- and it's taking up a big chunk of their

parents are adding a new line to their budget - for child care. a new survey by care dot com found that 54 percent of familes - spend more than ten

the survey also found that nearly three quarters of all families have some sort of budget specifically for child care. if you're in the market for a new job, here's an option--- the federal aviation administration is looking to hire about 14-hundred people. they're looking to fill positions for entry-level air traffic controllers. applications will be accepted until august 15th. it's a very competitive field. .. but worth it. once you get through training, the average salary is about 118- nearly half of the people in the u-s, will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. it's a scary thought - but new technology is allowing doctors to diagnose cancer earlier. now - a "cancer moonshot" program is trying to take that to the next level - and find a cure. the c-u cancer center is part of the "moonshot project"- led by vice president joe biden.

cornerback aqib talib returned to the practice field monday. talib is expected to be ready to go for the start of the season on september eighth. but police are still investigating the early morning hours of june fifth. talib either got shot by somebody else--or accidentally shot himself. whichever it is--he's not telling anyone. and later this week -- you won't get to see talib... but you'll be able the team in action at soldier field this thursday on channel 20. our coverage begins with a special edition of broncos tonight at 5-30...

this bear made himself right at home. a couple north carolina came home

snacking away - on birdseed - in their backyard. he was sprawled out on the railing - looking like he didn't have a care in the world. the couple eventually used pots and pans to scare the the bear away. a school building is getting moved back to its original home. but the way it's being moved -- is not something you see everyday. 44 oxen are doing the heavy lifting. it's pretty appropriate given the fact the school on wheels was built in vermont back in 1823. the oxen are moving it back to its original location to become a new addition to a museum. that's going to do it for 9news at 4:30... but we have a lot more news and
