[ laughter ] an investigation is underway in to an officer involved shooting that left a suspect dead in lakewood. police say this man showed what appeared to be a weapon when they contacted him in a parking lot, a gas station parking lot on saturday. the capture took place near first avenue and sheridan boulevard. officers backed off and called this man on his cell phone while he was on his car.

the west metro s.w.a.t. team was called in to help and those members moved this and attempted to reach this man, then shots were fired. the suspect was hit and taken to the hospital where he died. no officers were hurt. first thumb tacks on bike trails, now another message of hate to cyclists. deputies want to find who did this. thurman noticed the spray messages, to die, for cars to kill them. tension is just getting out of control and down right dangerous. >> on the road six days a week, ride tens of thousands of miles a year and i've never seen that kind of hate in my entire life. when i get off my bike, i'm a dad. i'm a husband, i'm a father and i treat people with respect. why would you threaten my life?

70s in the western slope, 94 degrees. now, very dry weather across colorado. you know, very limited rainfall we've seen out at dia, maybe 0.03 when we should have three quarters. and western colorado, starting to elevate, we're starting to see that under high fire danger. we're still looking in good shape over areas of the front range and out east. we really need to start seeing that weather pattern shift and give chance for storms are going to be really limited. around 11:30, now how it's quiet across the state as far as rain goes in to this afternoon. few clouds in the city but we are looking at a mainly dry forecast a few spotty showers are possible in our central and southern mountains but we're looking at mainly dry conditions. good if you want to spend time outside. some of these storms might bring a little bit of lightning, so

a child one of several people hurt when a man stabbed aboard a train and set it on fire. a woman was killed and five other passengers were hurt. a 27-year-old man went on a rampage first stabbing several passengers then using a flammable liquid to start a fire on board. the victims ages range from 6 to 50 years old. the suspect was also hurt when he set that fire. he eventually died from his injuries. his motive is under investigation, but officials do not suspect terrorism. more strides in the fight against isis this morning a kurdish militia group among the various forces to liberate the city in the coming weeks. retaken five villages east of the city early this morning and hoping to take more over the very soon, the idea to take control over mosul and then around the city, held since 2015. consisting of a few hundred men
