a nice, potent cold front for the weekend. today's big issue is nice -- well, to be some moisture moving into western colorado. let's start with the predawn sky over metro denver. it's pretty obvious we have haze in if lower part of the atmosphere, front range air quality is considered to be moderate so no advisory in effect and that is pressure area that is small, nicely organized, and will move across the state and opportunities for rain and south of i-70 and the further north you live, greeley, fort collins, loveland, you have a higher chance of showers. in central colorado from southern county through ledville and salida, nice showers going there. for the morning, we're in the

a problem into the heat of our morning rush. >> we sure hope not. amelia thank you. state leaders approved a plan to install warning signals at a railroad crossing near trinidad. five people were killed at that crossing in june after their minivan collided with an amtrak train. colleen ferrara is joining us. other fatal accidents have happened at the crossing. >> reporter: that's what i have been reading. there was a fatal crash in that the utilities commission approved a plan to have safety signals installed on county road 32. they will cost $270,000 and will take up to six months for them to be installed. steven and christy miller were driving their four young daughters to church in june when the collision happened. the only survivor was one of their daughters. she is still recovering. back in june, the colorado department of transportation said that very crossing had

warning systems. they were waiting on county approval to make those improvements. a commissioner asked the staff to report back and they say it's problematic. other disagreed on monthly reports. there is a public hearing and don't know if >> colleen, thank you. we're learning more about a fire that burned over 2,000 acres and the fire south. it started southeast of agate around sunset, east of 470 where it turns towards byers and lieman.

attitude towards our country and its principles. >> he will speak in wisconsin today. on the democratic side, hillary clinton is back in battleground pennsylvania, signing up new voters. she's gone got an 11 point lead, but donald trump is gaining among white, lesser- educated voters. in scranton, pennsylvania, clinton took digs at trump on the campaign trail. she is campaigning with vice presid for us today, a cool start to the day moving into the upper 80s late this afternoon, one or two storms today. the further south you go in metro denver, the better shot of measurable rain for the day. over the next few days through friday, smaller chance for rain tomorrow and thursday and then friday as cooler air begins to mix in. our humidity levels go up and our chance to get measurable rain goes up.
