"fema" says more than 80-thousand people have applied for federal help. at least 13 people have died. it's hard for forecasters to keep up with such devastating floods. forecast model for noaa. it could change the way we predict floods across the country. the way the national weather service forecasts floods now, happens based on information from specific sites.. usually on major rivers or waterways. that doesn't always help predict what could happen along smaller waterways. as it did in colorado almost three years ago. this new computer modeling is able to not just forecast what will happen at those measuring stations. but rather. take into account the entire landscape. millions of miles of waterways. across the whole country. the 31st summer olympics will be wrapping up this weekend -- with the closing ceremony on sunday. and as more athletes finish up speciaplaces setn, up as "home away from their hom" are busier than ever. cheryl preheim and matt renoux join live once again from rio. team u-s-a's home away from home

it does- and team has a great back story. it does- and team usa will leave a neat gift behind for hundreds of kids because of it. all during the olympics team usa athletes have been hanging out in the their usa house just off ipanema beach which is also a school for around 600 kids the usa house towers several stories high and has great views of the beachperfect for all the athletes looking to rest after competitionbut the building is also a schoolbefore they took the house over team usa fixed broken down walls, put in internet and wifi, installed fire safety improvements, and much more the athletes also took a picture with all 500 or so athletes in it and will leave that for the kids we are heading into the weekend before opening ceremony everyone wants to make sure they have seen all the most famous tourist sights in rio. we found enormous crowds at christ the redeemer unlike rio has ever seen before. but you can understand why anyone would wait for hours in line when you see what
