2100 block of south holly street. anyone who sees the truck is asked to call 911. the colorado state patrol asked agencies to help them catch drunk drivers this weekend and that is what happened. 18 dui arrests were made, including one that stands out. they picked up 46-year-old michael wily for her 7th dui arrest. his fifth in colorado. this time he was 1.5 times over the legal he faces charges for reckless driving and not having insurance. >> if there is any consolation in that it would be that he was taken off the street again before someone was very seriously hurt or killed. we in law enforcement continue to do what we can, that is to look for them, stop them,

street. the flash on your screen is a car exploding after a drunk driver ran a red light in citizen hit a jeep -- denver and hit a jeep so hard. the drunk driver is now on his way to prison. 9news crime and justice reporter anastasiya bolton is joining us now. the driver was so drunk he blacked out? >> reporter: we talk about drunk driving a lot but rarely do we get to seeneural views crash -- see interviews with the drivers after they crash. the driver was just sentenced to 24 years in prison for this crash off 44 and federal in august of last year. chance for rain today or tomorrow. to the west, it will look dark because most of the showers and thunderstorms will be staying to the west. yes, they are going to try push east of i-25. we are too dry to get some of those showers going. you could see over denver it looks ominous in spots. clouds darker gray. but i am not seeing any rain at least just yet on the to the forecast into wednesday. and that is going to be coming follow a cold front. this system as it pushes across the state will bring in the bigger chance for rain wednesday, thursday and friday, and also going to be giving us cooler temperatures. we will go out of the 80s and 90s and back into the 70s. at least as we end the week before we warm up again.

four state highways are still closed. president obama is planning to visit the disaster area tomorrow. authorities in florida are starting to release more information about 5 new cases of zika virus. the governor said three of the people effected are men, two women. florida has 36 cases of zika. law makers are asking congress for 1.9 million dollars to fight the spread of the disease and the mosquito that carries >> mosquitoes, zika, it is not republican and it is not democrat. it is an issue that effects all of us. we need it come together as one and make sure we get the proper funding so we could eradicate this and get it taken care of immediately. >> president obama requested $1.9 billion in february to develop a vaccine and control the mosquitoes. lawmakers both sides left

in 1960. we have upper 80s and low 90s in the eastern plains. a mixture of 50s and 60s and 70s for the mountains. upper 70s in the western slope. here outside 9news partly cloudy skies. no rain. actually warm outside. we are at 87. so again another day very similar to today on tap for tomorrow. what we are watching, of course is all of this rain that is in parts of the state. believe it or not we actually out right over dia. a tiny one. boy, location is everything. right? one isolated shower that is in the eastern plains. the only two that have made their way east of i-25. the rest of the moisture is over the mountains. northern and central mountains seeing light rain showers. scattered from steamboat springs to crested butte.

showers and thunderstorms through gunnison and to the southwest. gunnison just recorded earlier this afternoon half inch size hail in the area. so those storms more powerful across the central and southern mountains than what we are seeing east of i-25. storms today not expected to be severe. under just a risk for general thunderstorms. and again most of the rain that monsoon flow has been limited and pushed off to the southeast. in places like louisiana, mississippi, alabama, those southern states that do not need the moisture. we are not talking about a lot of heavy rain for those folks. the next couple days, new orleans could see a 10th of an inch of rain. showers spotty. same for panama city.

through the area. but this is not a big deal compared to what we saw weeks ago. to our north, a different story. we are hot. we are dry. we are windy. all of that creates this high fire danger for some states around our region. doesn't extend into colorado but the red flag warnings for parts of wyoming, east into the nebraska panhandle and parts those -- dakotas and seeing those into montana ask indiana. -- and idaho. a lot of different scenarios across the country. the severe conditions, none of those happening in our state. we are considering ourselves lucky here. even over the next couple days. changes, i will show you our chances for rain. showers minimal east of i-25 into the evening. most of us stay very dry.

they will start to retreat to the west past 9:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m. tonight same for all of the rain in the central and southern mountains. showers pick up again once we get to late tomorrow morning. and into tomorrow afternoon. they will take over the same pattern as today starting in the southwest mountains, working north. as you look to the west tomorrow, dark skies from showers and thunderstorms in the foothills. here in denver most of what we see tomorrow will be us. what we are watching tomorrow, though, is a cool front moving in and timing is everything. it is expected late tuesday -- expected late tuesday afternoon and tuesday evening. once it arrives we have cooler temperatures and along the front we are expecting to see an increase in chances for rain. so for your forecast, this

across the front range. tonight we are dropping to 58 degrees. skies clear. we will be mild. winds out of the west at 5 to 10 miles per hour. getting into tomorrow, afternoon highs, 85. sunny start to the day. clouds move in in the afternoon. cold front pushes through. and then things change. winds behind the front outlet of the northeast 5 -- out of the northeast, 5 to 10 miles per hour. and a big temperature drop. kids will feel much more like it is on wednesday. 75 will be the high. we have a chance for a light shower in the afternoon and on thursday. 77 the high. isolated shower or thunderstorm friday afternoon. high of 79. and then as we continue to dry out we warm back up. at this point on saturday we have a chaps for a couple of showers -- chance for a couple showers and thunderstorms in

too long. all right. the games might be over but the problems are not over for ryan lochte. speedo and ralph lauren announced they are sending sponsorship with him after he admit he lied to police in rio about being held by gun point with three other swimmers. speedo said we cannot condone the behavior. they plan to donate $50,000 of ryan lochte's fee to the save the children charity. matt lauer lochte to talk about everything that happened. >> i -- i let my team down and, you know, i wanted to be there -- i don't want them to think that i left and left them dry because, i mean, they are my teammates. i wanted to be there. and i wanted to help out any way i could.
