we don't have to wait a month for the fall-like weather. we start to see a cool down around here, it starts tomorrow and you will note asdifference in temperatures-- notice a difference in temperatures, highs today were mid 80s, i hope you enjoyed the sunshine earlier, the clouds settled in and even through tomorrow, it will be hard to see some sunshine, depending where you are at across the state. we will be seeing mostly cloudy skies here in the metro area on wednesday. on the eastern plains, temperatures to the 90s. in the high country, temperatures in the 60s and 70s, clouds. check out the shot from pike's peak, american's mountain now, you can't make out what is below it but we know there are clouds and rain obviously. we take a look at the lens right there, a better chance for rain in southern colorado and the high country. all of this because of a system pushing in from the four corners, combined with the cold front, really setting us up for the weather forecast. most of the activity as far as storms go has been in the high

past half hour, 300 lightning strikes, most of those happening in the mountains. a little bit of snow falling above timber line at telluride peak, and more rain in the san juans and central mountains, the collegiate peaks seeing snow up there. lightning as well. in the metro area, we are kind of dry, even though we have the dark clouds around, all bark, no bite . we have a little bit of a shower trying to work its way off estes park and along temperatures at dia, 80 degrees. here in the backyard, our temperatures are coming in very similar, you know, it is a pleasant afternoon under cloudy skies in the backyard. our winds, not all that bad. 79 degrees currently. lets check the weather with the rest of the state and the temperatures in northern colorado currently are mid 80s, you can see the line of that cooler air, those temperatures in the 90s where that front has not yet approached. temperatures in the mountain

through this evening, we will continue to see gusty winds at times on the front range and eastern plains t will be cooler, temperatures about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. we have a small chance for showers in the metro area. meanwhile in the high country, we continue to see the chance for scattered storms and above timber line, especially in our central mountains, we could see a dusting of snow. no winter weather advisories are in store, and no snow is headed for the metro we have some advisories, red flag warning for northern colorado until 8:00, gusts could get up to 25 miles an hour and humidity, right now 20-30 miles an hour in the city. in the plains, pretty gusty out there as well. for the rest of the evening, we hang on to the clouds, those temperatures in the 70s through 6:00, 8:00. in the 60s by 10:00 p.m. then in the overnight hours, mostly cloudy skies and temperatures expected to feel a little bit cooler. futurecast, taking us through
