connected to the same suspect. over the past few months- one bank robber has been very busy. 9news reporter tarhonda thomas is live at the vectra bank on east speer boulevard... tarhonda that's the most recent bank hit- now police think they know who did it. arapahoe county deputies want your help finding a pair of burglary suspects. here's the surveillance video- see if you recognize the man and woman. this burglary happened last month. you can see them walking into an apartment building near s parker rd just off mississippi ave. the two are later seen running away--the man doesn't have a shirt

them, call the arapahoe sheriff or you can leave an anonymous tip with metro denver crime stoppers we weren't able to get sound in the courtroom... but the video of sedgwick county sheriff tom hanna shaking his head at the charges against him- says it all. hanna is facing felony charges involving sexual assault of a developmentally disabled inmate. court documents say, the sheriff told a deputy on august 10th that he was going to drive a female prisoner in his personal truck to the logan county jail. instead, t d says the truck ended up at the sheriff's home. investigators interviewed the inmate a woman who says she has a low i-q. she told investigators the sheriff had her strip down, offered her 60 bucks and sexually assaulted her. the district attorney said the investigation is awkward and uncomfortable. the sheriff's bond

hanna is no longer the acting sheriff- by law that job now falls to the county coroner. he has to stay at least one hundred feet away from the sedgwick county sheriff's office and has to wear a gps device. he's due in court again in logan county on september 16th. a man well known for his gliding abilities- died in a motorized glider crash in telluride. he and one other killed. investigators say "glider bob" saunders was piloting the fixed- wing glider when it crashed wednesday in prospect basin. saunders owned and operated a glider tour company. the other man hasn't been identified--but we do know he's from colorado. one of the most scenic parts of italy- is in rubble this morning. so far 247 people have died... more than 350 others injured.

popular tourist city northeast of rome with buildings going back hundreds of years. it was set to host the 50th annual spaghetti festival saturday. the six point two magnitude quake hit central italy yesterday morning. italy's prime minister prmises to rebuild... the damage is estimated at about 11 billion dollars. more people in

more apartments. not more parking. as more buildings go up- apartment size is shrinking to pack in even more renters downtown. one neighborhood near city park isn't happy about the nearly 100 new neighbors who could move in- without any new parking spaces. the denver city council approved a permit to build 100 micro apartment units at the corner of east 16th avenue and humboldt street. the average unit will be just 350 square feet. some neighbors complained- and now the city council has stopped issuing permits for similar buildings. but others say- the extra apartment space is needed more than extra parking space. only one other

since 2010. it's in the highlands. you will get to decide this november- whether the next election cycle should look very different. the secretary of state's office says- two ballot measures got enough petition signatures to make it on the ballot. one would get rid of presidential caucuses and replace them with primaries. another would let pick a candidate in the primaries. both republicans and democrats were frustrated earlier this year with the caucus process. democrats complained of long waits and packed caucus sites. republicans didn't get to pick a candidate at all- delegates were awarded later at the convention. a national organization is asking both the republican and democratic presidential candidates- to pause their

a day of public service and remembrance- in honor of the 2001 terror attacks. this year marks 15 years since the attacks. representatives for both campaigns haven't responded yet to say if they planned to skip campaigning that day. the organization made a similar request in 20-12... both mitt romney and president barack obama agreed. the washington monument has a problem- its elevator. the monument will be closed until mid-september because of problems with the lift to the top. service closed the monument earlier this month for inspections... now it says it will have to stay closed even longer because of ongoing problems. the superintendent of the national mall says the elevator is nearing the end of its lifespan and might need to be completely replaced. she says elevators need to be modernized every 20 to 25 years. the last time the washington monument elevator was renovated was in the late 19-90s. stepping up to help innocent victims... the unexpected way hospitals are

military advisers arnt to secure an american university in kabul. a government spokesperson says at least ten people died in an attack at the university yesterday. more than 30 were wounded- including teachers, students and police officers. the gun fire and explosions lasted about an hour. the university is seen as a symbol of american values and education in the region... as well as a common target for attackers. more than one thousand students are currently enrolled there. no group has claimed responsibility yet. hospitals in florida are stepping up- to

nighclub shooting victims in an unexpected way. the orlando sentinel reports- orlando health and florida hospital won't bill the survivors for out of pocket medical expenses. the mass shooting happened at the pulse nightclub in june... 49 people died. one victim is still in the hospital. that means the hospitals will write off an estimated five and a half million dollars or more in care. the families of the victims who died will also not be charged. the army reservist who shot and killed five dallas police officers last month- showed signs of post traumatic stress disorder. micah johnson targeted the officers in a sniper like attack after a black lives matter rally. newly released documents show- he sought treatment for anxiety, depression and hallucinations. but doctors concluded he was no significant risk to himself or others.

afghanistan in 20-14. the home of music icon prince- will sopeblic. the late singer's family plans to share his paisley park compound in minnesota with his fans... the company running elvis presley's graceland will manage the tours. paisley park spreads over 65 thousand square feet. fans will be able to see the recording and mixing studios, rehearsal rooms, soundstage and concert hall. tickets for the tours go on sale this friday. a boulder company- is stepping up its ride sharing game in texas. how the "fare" app is hoping to take over where uber and lyft left off. but first, lets check in with marty and amelia. as ride sharing

lyft pull out of austin, texas... a boulder tech companet consulting in boulder is one of eight companies filling the ride sharing void in the city. the company runs the app called "fare." uber and lyft left the market when voters required would-be drivers to give their finger prints as part of background checks. uber and lyft said it was an unnecessary burden on business.

head to court to talk about a emission test cheating settlement. the car company admitted last year it rigged certain vehicles to pass emission tests. in june, volkswagon reached a nearly 15 billion dollar settlement to address civil claims. today- executives will talk about some of the finer points of that deal... including the company's offer to buy back any of the 475 thousand affected vehicles. sales are up for new homes- but the size of those homes is dropping. the average size of wl end of the recession. more entry level buyers who need mortgages are coming back to the home buying market, and that means more demand for smaller homes. some of the homes up for sale now- are more than 15 hundred square feet smaller than the average size before the

far germs can spread... and how long they can hang around in the air. scientists at m-i-t say the largest droplets usually land within three to six feet from the sneezer. but smaller particles can linger in the air for several minutes and travel up to 26 feet. two american kestrels are flying free today... after spending the summer growing back to health at the great plains zoo in south dakota. underdeveloped as fledglings and needed some help getting ready to fly. they got some flight conditioning and went to "mouse" school to learn to hunt. the miami beach sewers are full of unexpected things... sometimes even alligators. but this time- it was just a tiny kitten who got emergency crews' attention.
