related to the one on august 18th on the highline canal. they haven't figured out that quite yet. in a case a woman was found on the trail by someone who lives nearby. in this latest case, denver police have made an arrest. police identified the accused attacker as demarcus bookhart. the victim says she was walking on the trail friday in the area of east dartmouth avenue and she was able to take a picture of walked away. bookhart faces charges of second degree assault if you have any information about either of these cases call police. an update to breaking news we brought you yesterday morning. denver police say they had no choice but to shoot a man who threatened them with a knife. officers tried to arrest the man on a warrant at a home near ellsworth avenue and fox street early saturday

refused to drop it. officers tried a stun gun, that didn't work. police say he continued to come at them with the knife. and that's when they fired their weapons and the man died in hospital. investigators tracked down a colorado springs man at the center of an amber alert and the infant involved was found safe. officers in colorado springs were on the hunt for jonathan beatty. the mother called police that he left the search lasted for hours. beatty was taken into custody saturday afternoon. we are looking into see how seven people are doing this morning after a bad crash in parker. the accident involved three cars and a motorcycle on parker road and j. morgan boulevard on saturday. three people were trapped inside their vehicles. the cause still under investigation. in colorado springs, dozens of fish are dead and the environmental impact undetermined still after a

into fountain creek much the fire department says the truck company will have to pick up the costs for cleanup. it happened early friday morning spilling 5,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel into the water. crews were the environmental protection agency are using vacuums to suck of the gas. the impact on the creek was immediate, so many fish have died they were pulling them out by the bucket. there should be a better idea of the full impact next week. ni noise sitting on the bench than on the field. he decided to sit through the national anthem. following the game, kaepernick told the nfl network "i am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." >> sounds like he's committed but now he has to understand if he's going to take a stance like this he has got to ride this the whole

. welcome back, everybody. a live look at downtown. the sun coming up, the clouds making the sky look gorgeous, let's check in with belen de leon for the forecast. what will the clouds mean today. >> oh my goodness, what we have is a storm that is moving to the south in parts of arizona and new mexico, so

are just signalling that, you know that storm is moving to the south of us and it will bring us a chance for storms this afternoon. keep that in mind if you're going to put on your boots and you're headed out to the colorado state fair. this happens in pueblo, but it's the state fair. they're celebrating their 144 years, the temperatures out there will be at 88 degrees in pueblo and we'll see the chance for some storms. here is what's happening right now and that storm is actually over northern arizona. in the next 24 hours it's going to movity way e new mexico but as it's spinning counterclockwise it's bringing in this subtropical moisture in colorado and bringing us rain. right now, a few of shows showers out on the western slope. rain mixed in with snow near mount evans believe it or not, and rain near douglas county and castle rock right now. the current temperatures and some spots in the high school are still in the 40s. sunnier skies in our northern mountains in steamboat springs. and more sunshine in fort

you zoom in and you'll notice that around the city is where we have most of the clouds bunched up. 80s down low this afternoon. 90s out in the eastern plains, in the mountains 60s, in the western slope 83 degrees. the threat for severe weather today is low, but i think this afternoon we'll have a better chance of seeing the storms come closer to the metro area. watch what happens. clouds in the sky through about lunchtime. those storms will develop in the mountains but it's still dry here in the metro area. we get a break from the clouds in the middle of the day and then in the afternoon the clouds will krief drive back in coming -- drive back in coming from the south with a little bit of the rain overnight showers are still possible and tomorrow morning a partly cloudy start with the temperatures on the cool side. but that rain forecast taking us through tomorrow morning, notice how those heavier pockets of rain will be in the mountains and also to the south of us in el paso county.

more day that trend continues. >> exactly. i think it's still a nice day ahead of us. we won't have as much blue in the sky. and we'll have a better chance of seeing some storms coming in from the south. so let's get to that forecast because the live view outside of our home here at 9news, spear and logan, you can see all of those clouds, we have a storm to the south of colorado that's bringing in more humidity into our state and well we're seeing it in the form of clouds, and those clouds this morning are hel warmer than where we were 24 hours ago, a temperature difference of 9 degrees, all because we have clouds in the sky. temperatures outside are in the 60s, we have 50s in northern colorado, and 40s closer to the foothills. this afternoon your highs are going to be in the mid to upper 80s, so very near where we should be this time of year. temperatures closer to the foothills will be in the 70s and in the 60s. we do have a chance for some storms this afternoon. they'll be scattered in the

timber line we could see snow on the peaks. in here in the metro area the storms will hold off until 5 p.m. but some hail, strong winds, lightning, and some brief heavy rain. i'll time it for you in your full forecast coming up . a wildfire spreading quickly now in central washington. the fire has grown to acres in levonworth. power lines and a cell tower has been affected. other residents are being told to evacuate if necessary. it started yesterday afternoon. one structure has burned so far. california's newest wildfire in kearn county is spreading quickly. dry brush and high winds have grown the fire that grew to 130 acres in the past few hours.

>> okay, it's not that easy. but i'll show you how it's done. to start you're going to need gelatin, sugar, and rose wine. i found the gymy bear molds on line for less than $10 and include a dropper to make it easier to fill. take the rose and measure out one cup. on low to medium heat cook it in a it boil. add a half cup of sugar and whisk until it desolves. add in the gelitan, four to five pockets, use the dropper to put it into the molds. a spoon works, too. this recipe will make 80 to 100 gummy bears. let it set for two hours and
