blasting clinton from taking donations from foreign governments while she was secretary of state. trump says his immigration plans have not changed and he's not softening on deporting 11 million illegal immigrants. his running mate governor mike pence says trump's detailed immigration policy will come out in the next two weeks. a fire chief in louisiana was killed this morning when a bus crashed in to his fire truck on a high way. the driver of the charter bus did not have a license and police say he was in the country illegally. the bus waar help with flood relief when the crash happened near new orleans. the chief was among three firefighters standing along the highway when the bus hit their ladder truck. it sent them flying over a guardrail and in to the water below. the chief died and the other two firefighters were critically hurt. two other vehicles then hit the bus, killing another person. 41 people were hurt. san francisco 49ers quarterback colin kaepernick has vowed to continue to sit through the national anthem at football

performed to sold-out audiences around the world. juan gabriel was 66 years old. so far the cause of his death is not known. a desperate effort to pull a man off the railroad track with a commuter train fast approaching in new jersey. an officer, victor ortiz, put his life on the line to try to save the man lying on the tracks. surveillance footage shows ortiz trying to pull the man off the rails. he tries over and over again even as the man was resisting him. finally the officer was able to drag him just far comes, the commuter train zips by. amazingly no one was hurt. new jersey transit says it could not be more pud of its officer. most colorado kids are looking back on a summer full of things like camps, swimming, and family trips. >> for one young man it went a little more like this. >> in tonight's storytellers, a

thunderstorms. but up in the high country it was nothing but blue skies and a lot of blue water too. look at that. this great shot at the stage coach reservoir near steamboat. all these folks out there. i think they had about 90 people powered crafts, paddle board canoes, kayaks enjoying the summer weekend. about 90 degrees in greeley, sterling, lamar this afternoon. hot out there. 60s in leadville. mid 70s in eagle. low 80s in rifle and grand junction. for now out athe cooling things off. mid 60s. mostly cloudy skies. the winds are picking up just a bit out of the east northeast at 16 miles per hour. here in the 9 backyard, temperatures feeling comfortable at this 10:00 hour. numbers in the mid 60s as well. still in hd doppler 9, watching the storm system that's sitting across parts of the 4orners slowly make its way across southeastern colorado by tomorrow morning. this is really triggering a lot of lightning. basically areas to the south of the metro area toward colorado

tracker. more than 450 strikes and really everything is centralized to the south of the denver metro area. couple light rain showers potentially coming down toward highlands ranch, parker, castle rock. the biggest story is going to be toward colorado springs where they're under a flash flood warning till 1 a.m. just because the thunderstorms are packed with so much moisture, they're steady. they haven't moved. the black forest will be watching for flash flooding concerns throughout the next several hours. also advisory in parts of el paso, pueblo counties until about 11:15. this evening in the metro area after midnight, we'll go with partly cloudy skies. upper 50s for overnight temperatures. we stay in the 50s and 60s along the eastern plains. 40s and 50s up in the mountains. this storm system will be slowly pushing across parts of southeastern colorado by tomorrow. today we've been watching the storms picking up from the southwest. everything switches tomorrow as this system pushes a little bit further to the east.

that counterclockwise flow bringing in a bit more of an up slope flow tomorrow afternoon. you can see overnight the showers and thunderstorms still will be rocking and rolling just to the south of i-70. by morning we'll go with mostly cloudy skies here in the metro area. lunchtime, not too bad, but you can see those storms beginning to form across the eastern plains, gaining momentum as they push in to the front range, foothills, and up in the mountains by 5:00, 6:00. it's going to be a little more widespread than what we saw this afternoon. so keep drive home might be a bit slow. 10:00, we're still watching the showers and thunderstorms in eastern colorado but you can see drier air pushing in from parts of the west. if you're heading off from the east coast, parts of florida, we have tropical depression 8 just turning outside the outskirts of north carolina. it will be pushing in to the outer banks by tomorrow, becoming a tropical storm, similar setup with tropical depression 9 as it heads toward the gulf coast, and hurricane gaston now a cat 3 making it the

washington, thanks to nolan arenado. rocks' 3rd baseman, 4-4, a triple, and this h 35th home run of the season. rockies win another series on the road thanks to back-to-back wins over the nationals. final score was 5-3. good and bad news for the rapids. the bad, they'll be without their five best players including tim howard. the good news, that's because all five were called up for international world cup qualifier. congrats to those guys. and congrats to the league world series team from new york. they beat south korea 2-1 today, becoming the first u.s. team to win the little league world series since 2011. and we finish with even more baseball/hockey. blue jay josh donaldson with not one, not two, but three home runs today against minnesota. i get you could call that a home n hat trick. in canada, that's definitely what they call it and act on it, as the toronto faithful treat it

a lot of folks try to make it to all 50 states in their lifetimes, mainly to see the most famous sights in each one. for one colorado man, the reason >> he just finished a trip to every state in the country to play miniature golf. he started two and a half months ago. >> drove south to albuquerque, then i drove to oklahoma city, then dallas, and all the way around america. of all the sort of kitcheny americana distractions, it's really the one that allows each state to express itself. >> you go, dan. dan is a blogger and plans to rank the mini golf courses and eventually write a book.
