police say when they got to the scene they found her laying in the road in the middle of the intersection. the woman was rushed to the hospital where she later died. the driver was eventually caught and taken into custody. colfax ave is now re-open near i-25 as denver police look into a fatal accident there. police tell us the crash involved a motorcycle. our photographer on scene could only get to this roadblock -- the accident was further down. we don't have any more information right now, but we'll update you when we find out more. a warning for college students -- two sexual assaults happened near the c-u boulder campus this weekend. one happened in the underpass near broadway and college ave sunday -- when a man tried to grab her. she was able to fight him off. the woman says the accused attacker is a heavier set man, with curly dark hair. boulder police are also looking for this man -- who they

officers tell us the man broke into a woman's home on colorado ave saturday. she told police she was asleep on the couch when he tried to sexually assault her. the suspect was possibly wearing glasses, and could've taken off in a gold or silver s-u-v. police have increased patrols in the area. crews say it started just yesterday and has already spread to 300 acres. it's being called the starwood fire. tarhonda thomas is tracking this wildfire for us in larimer county. tarhonda, people are being evacuated because of it... yes, they are. forty three contacts in the "mill creek subdivision" have gotten evacuation notices-- and that's just the beginning. the larimer county sheriff's office says has encouraged evacuations of any people in the mill creek subdivision and on the east side of county road 59 between 80c. the fire is threatening 30 structures. it's growing in the area of county road 59 and

as of last check-- it was ten percent contained. but there will be more than a- hundred resources "on the ground" to fight this fire, today. we're expecting to get an update on the fire, this morning. once we have that info, we'll update you on-air, on social media.. and on 9news.com. corey? there's also a grass fire burning in deer trail -- it's limited to a field on county road. no structures are threatened. investigators are now trying to figure out what started it. the standing rock sioux tribe in southern north dakota has been against a four- state oil pipeline... since the beginning. the tribe says construction crews destroyed burial and cultural sites on private land in order to build it. they've continuously protested it -- and now things have turned violent. the morton county sheriff's office says several hundred protesters confronted crews saturday afternoon at the site. the tribe spokesman says security dogs bit six people -- and security officers sprayed at least 30

weekend -- all the protests were peaceful -- such as this one back in august. deputies say the crowd eventually disbursed and no one was arrested. homeless people in one city will have to find a new place to sleep outside. the boulder city council has told police to start using restraint, and respect to those people -- as they start enforcing the city's urban camping ban. this is after a five- month time out. those who violate the ban will be issued a summons. one health care company is offering free dental care this morning -- as part of its 'labor of love' for the labor day holiday. risas will be offering the basic cleaning, cavity filling, tooth extraction, or a complete exams with x-rays at each of its four denver-area locations. wheat ridge, aurora-south, denver-south, and federal heights. you can stop by from eight this morning, until

officer shot and killed this man during a traffic stop in minnesota. philando castille's death sparked nationwide protests -- and today his mm remembering him with a vigil. the vigil today comes after a memorial last week at the spot where castille was shot by the saint anthony officer. demonstators briefly stopped traffic during the vigil -- lining up across the road. and a family in nebraska spent their weekend at a vigil as well. it's the family that lost a child in that alligator attack at disney world. friends, neighbors, and strangers gathered to remember lane graves on what would have been his third birthday. the attack

still has the young boy on its mind. the family wanted to keep things positive by releasing five- thousand balloons in the boy's honor. each balloon was given by an anonymous donor. president obama has been talking economic issues in china at the g-20 summit of the world's richest nations. but on the sidelines -- the u-s and russia came up short on a deal to end the syrian civil war. secretary of state john kerry says a couple of tough issues remain after the latest in a series of talks with his russian counterpart -- and he does not want to rush into it. they've been negotiating for weeks.

pope francis made mother teresa a saint in a ceremony at the vatican sunday. about 120-thousand people were there for the canonization. mother teresa died 19 years ago -- and she was well revered for her work with the poor in india. for those unable to make the trip to the vatican -- the denver archdiocese held a special celebration for the newest saint. every pew and every aisle at saint joseph's church in denver was filled with people honoring the humble woman. calcutta visited denver twice in the late 19-80s and announced she would send nuns to colorado from the missionaries of charity -- the order she founded. just a few days away from apple's

sheriff's office is investigating an officer involved shooting that left a man in grand junction dead. police tell us, a woman called 9-1-1 saying her husband had several knives and she was scared for the safety of her children. officers showed up to the shamrock mobile home park. some sort confrontation broke out and shots were fired. the maed no one else was hurt. morgan county deputies say a body that was found just north of wiggins is being investigated as a homicide. the victim was found around 8:30 sunday morning... in the area of road 4 and highway 34. his body was in a row of trees. investigators aren't releasing any other details at this time and have said they don't believe anyone in the area is in any danger. it's going to be a short week for investors. because of the labor day holiday --
