legacy high school - are still in the hospital after sunday's crash at d-i-a. all the students involved - have been treated and sent home. but wayne voorhees, matt kroupa and kyle rider - have significant injuries. the team had just returneded from a game in california. three buses were leaving the airport...when this one crashed into a pillar. the bus driver - kari chopper - was killed. in broomfield - it's homecoming week at legacy high but what was supposed to be a spirited week - turned somber for students and staff... students went to class on monday -- one day after tragedy hit legacy high school.... sunday afternoon, the word spread quickly among the students that a school bus with football players and coaches crashed at denver international airport --- killing the driver and seriously injuring three coaches. wayne vorhees, matt kroupa and kyle rider are still in the hospital. during homecoming

after the fatal accident, students took it upon themselves to change it. monday's scheduled "college day" turned into "legacy day" where the teens proudly wore school shirts and colors. the hashtag "legacy strong" also spread across social media. the bus driver - kari chopper's husband says he wants to know what happened - just as badly as everyone else. joshua chopper says his wife loved her job - and was having just passed a required yearly physical back in may. kari and joshua were married for more than 20 years... they have four children. joshua says he found out about his wife -- when people

it's not required -- but sunday's crash is reigniting a concern -- about seat belts on school busses. from 2005 to 2014 -- more than 13 hundred people were killed in school transportation crashes. more than 26 million children ride on school buses each day. federal law doesn't require the belts -- but the national safety council says they support the idea. more police officers and more affordable housing... both are big items in denver's budget proposal, which was presented denver mayor michael hancock introduced the plan for 20-17... it would set aside 16 million dollars - for 48 more police officers. 16 of them would be assigned to the 16th street mall. also included -- five million dollars for building and maintaining affordable housing. the mayor is also waiting to see if the city council approves an extra $10 million --to create a permanent fund for affordable housing.

she didn't think it was a big deal -- and that she's anxious to get back to work. and donald trump - is staying pretty quiet about clinton's recent medical issues. instead -- he's demanding an apology - after clinton called half of his supporters "deplorable" - during a recent speech. he says -- it was an attack on the american voter. trump's campaign is tightening its focus on battleground states...and gearing up for the final eight weeks of the race. the candidates will meet in two weeks -- for the first presidential debate. president obama says - he feels hopeful after a meeting with top congressional leaders. the meeting in the oval office included house speaker paul ryan, senate majority leader mitch mcconnell, senate democratic leader harry reid and house democratic leader nancy pelosi. the president says they discussed ways to keep the government open -- and to provide more federal funding in the fight against the zika virus. mr. obama hopes to have an agreement in place - before congress breaks in november. mike pence will make a stop on capitol hill today. the indiana governor and

conference with house speaker paul ryan, majority leader kevin mccarthy, and other g-o-p leadership in the house of representatives. pence will try to rally the house behind running mate donald trump.... and he will also focus on keeping the house and senate majority in the upcoming election.. and here's a different view of the campaign...one you could easily get lost in. a farm in brookshire, texas - designed the candidates faces into this year's maze...complete with question marks and the word "no" the famers say - they just want to give people a laugh.. it takes about 45 minutes to get through the maze... much quicker than the actual campaign. former president george w bush will be in colorado springs today -- he'll be at fort carson - for a job fair. the fort carson transition summit runs today and tomorrow... the goal is to help soldiers who are leaving the military... there will be workshops and representaives from more than 100 companies. just yesterday -

everything gets better with age.. then you should probably visit rocky mountain national park. the park is 100 years old and has never been more popular. it's on pace to break its visitor record of four- point-one million people. for the first time -- ever the park had more than 100 thousand visitors in both january and february. then in july -- 912 thousand people showed up -- that was the most for any month in the park's history. like marty said -- we're just starting to see a little cooldown here. but in wyoming and montana - it's an entirely different story. visitors to yellowstone's "old faithful" were surprised with a nice layer of snow. but -- it's expected to warm up later this week. and in montana - they seemed to have skipped right over fall...but they don't mind. six inches fell yesterday -- and business owners there -- say they need it - to survive the ski season.

he even asked followers on twitter to let him know what kind of questions they'd like to ask the chief. it's pertinent, becuase marshall knelt during the national anthem last week-- to join a silent protest. started by colin kaepernick -- it's meant to quietly protest racial and social injustice. kaepernick -- who also knelt during the 49ers season opener last night-- specifically mentioned actions by police in his protest. brandon marshall went to college with kaepernick. he joined a growing number of athletes-- national anthem. since last thursday's football season opener-- when marshall was showed kneeling during the anthem-- he says he's gotten a lot of hate.. people calling him racial slurs... telling him they wish he'd break his neck. but marshall says-- he's not responding to hate... with more hate. he says -- quote-- 'only love can drive out hate.' but, meantime, marshall has paid the price for his controversial actions. both centurylink and air academy credit union have dropped him as a spokesperson. marshall says--

game on sunday. corey? the n-c-a-a -- won't be going to north carolina anytime soon. the national collegiate athletic association is moving seven championship events out of the state -- including men's basketball opening weekend.. the move comes after a state law - that some say leads to discrimination against the l-g-b-t community. the only college championship games that can take place in north carolina -- are ones that a team earns the right to play on their own campus. tense moments for ryan lochte on monday night's episode of abc's "dancing with the stars".. lochte and his partner - professional dancer cheryl burke - were being critiqued by the judges -- when two people stormed the stage. the incident wasn't shown on live tv, but video released by a-b-c shows security removing the men from the stage. someone yells "liar" -- and a judge tells them to "back

later this morning -- the "national toy hall of fame" -- will announce this year's finalists... the hall is part of a museum in rochester, new york... last year - the honorable inductees included "twister", puppets, and the "super ak to qualify -- toys must have lasted across generations - and influenced how future toys are designed or used. things like "checkers" , the "easy bake oven" and even a cardboard box -- have all been inducted. it's been a rough few weeks for craft beer... left hand brewing says - it is recalling bottles of one of its best known beers - the nitro milk stout. the brewery says unwanted yeast in the bottles is causing some to overflow on the

hawaii's most famous volcano now boasts a lake -- of lava. it's on top of the kilauea volcano... this is the first time in more than a year that the lake has formed. visits to the volcanoe's national park have been up lately -- ever since a lava flow started to make its way to the pacific ocean. this might be the cutest way to start your tuesday.. two police officers in california were rescuing a kitten - and had to get a little creative... the kitten was in a drain pipe - just out of reach. so -- officers made meowing noises -- and used what they had -- a half eaten burrito -- to lure
