she is identified as haley vargas. police found her lying in the street just before 2:00 this morning outside of a home on monaco way. as investigations continue, family and friends remember vargas as a creative and energetic girl who beat cancer. this is jessica oh. >> reporter: melissa and haley >> she was just one of those kind of people that were just like always happy. and just smiling all the time. no matter what. >> reporter: what she would do to see that smile one last time. >> i just want to call her and be like are you okay? but she won't answer her phone. it's so hard. >> reporter: by the time thornton police got to the house party near monaco and krameria early saturday, haley was already lying in the street.

>> the final weekend of the season and mother nature the bringing her a game it has been a fantastic day in the metro area. in the western slope and the high country as wellful maybe you are thinking about an adventure. colors, the fall leaves, do it. now is the time. this is the view out there at the loveland ski area. no snow to speak up, but blue skies. tough to find any cloudsment it has been a spectacular day. if you are head today the rockies game, temperatures are looking line. in the mid 70s . upper 60s . tonight i can say i'm not anticipating any rogue thunderstorms to be pushing into downtown denver.

similar setup across the western slope as well. really it has been a pleasant day across the state. aside from the eastern plains that had to deal with a couple of storms. right now, we are at 77 out at the airport. plenty of sunshine with the winds now out of the knot about 10 miles an hour. in the 9 backyard, pretty comfortable. 77. you can see not a lot of action for most of the state. however, if you live in southeast colorado, you are sitting under that severe thunderstorm watch un 10:00 tonight. the showers and thunderstorms winding down. we had a line that went through parts of northeast colorado. now it is all cooking. parts of nebraska and kansas. severe thunderstorm warnings in place until about 6:45. so, tonight, here in town, we are with mostly clear skies. overnight lows cooling off to the upper 40s . the winds still going to be a little breezy out there. 40s and 50s out to the eastern plains. colorado springs, 30s up in the mountains and get a load of this.

fantastic. by 11:00 p.m., we will be left with a few clouds out there toward burlington. then things will be pretty dry around here. the one caveat to the forecast, with it being so hot and dry is high fire danger. we are looking at red flag warnings in place for northern colorado through fort collins, parts of boulder county, jackson county, through about 11:00 p.m. tomorrow. the wind gusts picking up quite a bit. around 40 miles an hourand it is so dry. 15%. here in the denver metro area. we have quicked up a quarter of an inch. we should be closer to half an inch for this time of the year. and this time of the month too. about 85 tomorrow. we will have plenty of sunshine out there. sunset coming at 7:02. and in between that sunrise and sunset, you will feast your eyes on nothing but sunshine. it is close to 90 degrees in sterling and wray will hit the 90s . across southeast colorado with 70s and 70s . it should be pleasant. up in the mountains if you are
