nationally ahead of the first debate next monday. the latest nbc wall street journal poll shows hillary clinton leading by six points. that comes even after clinton took some time off while recovering from pneumonia. in a four way race... clinton gets 43 percent of the vote... trump has 37 percent. libertarian candidate gary johnson gets nine percent of the vote in the polls... and green party candidate jill stein gets three percent.

smashed... fires started... and people running in fear or in anger. the protests are response to tuesday's officer involved shooting of a black man. nbc's sarah rosario is live in charlotte for us right now... sarah- north carolina's governor has declared a state of emergency. police say a man in critical condiditon this morning was shot by an unknown person and not an officer, and say he's now on life support. this, as hundreds took to the streets protesting the police shooting of 43-year-old keith scott. anger and racial tensions boiling over after yet another officer involved shooting. the unrest in charlotte continues. a second night of violent protests brings out police in riot gear. using flash grenades, rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the crowd. hundreds taking to the streets with signs, protesting the death of 43- year-old keith scott, killed tuesday by police. overnight loud booms sent demonstrators running for cover. police telling us at least one person was shot. they say the gunman was not a police officer. "i don't know they just shot somebody and he was waiting there and there was blood and then there's blood i don't know if he's alive or if he's dead." but the violence continued. with several people injured including officers ... it follows similar clashes tuesday night. demonstrators shutting down an interstate, looting trucks, setting fires and throwing rocks --injuring 16

a 19 year old woman will join the group of bikers and one town board member accused of murder. a weld county judge ruled there's enough evidence to charge karly hanchett with murder. she and five other biker gang members are accused of stabbing a woman from pierce to death. 34-year-old tera lewandowski was killed last september.

away in wyoming in april. former pierce town board member daniel meyer is also charged in the case... another defendant says he had a fight with the victim and stabbed her... after hanchett hit the woman in the head. it's been a long school year for many colorado students.. and classes have only been in session a few weeks. students are dealing with grief in several districts... after the loss of a friend, teacher or bus driver. denver public schools' crisis team offers support to more than 200 schools. the team is made up of counselors, psychologists, social workers and nurses. they say- healing starts with conversations in the classroom. last week- an adams 12 bus driver died in a crash- three football coaches

that's where an unarmed black man was killed by a white officer . this morning, the victim's family is calling for that officer to face criminal charges. police say they were responding to a call about a broken down s-u-v in the middle of the road. video from a dash cam and helicopter shows the suspect with his hands up for some time. officer betty shelby claims crutcher failed to st she shot and killed him. another officer is also heard calling crutcher a "black dude" that was dangerous and needed to be tasered. shelby did have a stun gun on her. crutchers family is questioning why she didn't use the stun gun first. the case is now under federal investigation. a homeless man is being credited for saving lives in new jersey. investigators say lee parker and a friend found a bag near the train

parker said he knew something was wrong when he realized the bag was heavy and had wires on it. turns out, the bag had up to five explosives in it. parker is now being recognized for his good deed. a local organization put him up in a hotel and an online fundraising campaign raised thousands of dollars for him. parker says all he wants now is a good job. emotions can run high when talking politics. the candidates for the georgian parliament got into a heated debate during a poltiical talk show. they started throwing punches! politicans from the democratic movement and the industrials political bloc started exchanging insults. thats when one of them gets up, walks over and starts fist fighting. these strong emotions stem from elections that are scheduled
