the face-off will be held at hofstra university in new york. debate coverage begins at 7 o'clock tonight... right here on n-b-c. gary? protesters in charlotte - are no longer under a curfew... chare' lifted it sunday night. charlotte saw two nights of violent protests last week - after a police officer shot and killed keith scott on tuesday. later in the week - and throughout the weekend - the protests were largely peaceful. but security is still tight in and around the city. at sunday's carolina panther's game - some of the players and protestors kneeled during the national anthem. and at least one man was arrested after police found a loaded gun in his bag. police have

the shooting.. scott's family also released a cell phone video... in all the clips - you cannot tell if scott is holding a gun, as police say he was.. the man accused of a deadly shooting at a washington mall - is expected in court today.. and this morning - police are still looking for an exact motive. 20-year-old arcan cetin was arrested late saturday night as he walked down a street in oak harbor, washington. he is accused of opening fire inside the cascade mall in burlington... killing five people. cetin has a criminal record - including three assault charges. he also had a court order banning him from having guns. police say he stole three guns from a family member to use in the shooting. today, the case moves forward in a case that started with a terrible mistake. it was violent home invasion in golden where two popular teachers were attacked. 21-year-old caleb williams faces up to 30 charges - including attempted murder and assault. in may - williams

for money and drugs. instead, a dad and middle school teacher was there with his wife and child. court documents show - the husband stabbed williams during the confrontation... and williams stabbed him back. both made a full recovery. williams has said - he's sorry for what he did - and didn't mean to hurt anybody. also in jefferson county today... james anderson - one of the people arrested in a big sting operation back in april - will face a judge. police say - anderson made an undercover officer to pay a child for sex. he was one of 35 adults arrested during an operation that focused on human trafficking and prostitution during denver's 4-20 week. five kids were rescued during the investigation. a woman in weld county has her neighbors to thank - after they stepped in to try and save her life. the weld county sheriff's office says - a man started stabbing her at a home in hudson.

suspect with garden tools to stop him. the woman is currently in critical condition at denver health... deputies arrested 41 year old johnny cordova at the scene. they've only had them for week - but deputies in arapahoe county are already using their new narcan kits. narcan is a drug that can reverse the effects of opioid use - and is often used against heroin overdoses. on friday - deputies used the drug on a man and woman found unconscious in a vehicle. they believe both had overdosed on heroin. deputies gave them narcan - and took hospital - where a spokesperson said the the narcan - most likely saved their lives. here in colorado - beer is pretty popular. but one denver man - is even more popular - and hundreds of people gathered to prove it. he's known as "earthman".. and he's been selling beer at concerts and games in the denver area for nearly three decades. his real name is brent doeden. he was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumor about a month ago. on sunday - friends

doeden says he was surprised at how many people showed up. earthman is scheduled to start chemo and radiation this week. his family wants to take him to a widespread panic concert - because he loves music. they've set up a go-fund-me account to help pay for medical and travel expenses. we've posted a link on our facebook page. a sad weekend for the sports world..
