pot underage. last year detectives confiscated hundreds of fake i ds. they shared this picture. in many cases they were being used to purchase pot at the local dispensaries. kids were ordering them from china. some cost as much as 7 $700 each. later on 9news, matt takes a closer look at what detectives are doing about the problem this year. another story we are following in lakewood. a neighbor who was trying stop a car theft was shot by suspects early this morning. had police say the attempted break in happened west of bell mar. the would be car thieves ran away from the scene. they are still on the run. lakewood police have not released any suspect information to us. we don't know how the neighbor is doing from the shooting, but we'll find out and let you know.

and on tuesday. the bank is just east of colorado boulevard. on thursday afternoon, two men ran into the bank wearing hoods and demanding cash. investigators say they did get away despite a three-hour search. police couldn't track down the suspects. investigators are still on scene of the train commuter crash in jersey that killed one person, injured more than 100 station thursday. we're in hoboken with a look at the investigation. >> the investigation continuing here, the ntsb on the ground at this point and sifting through all of the evidence they can. they've confirmed they removed the black box or event recorder from the locomotive. having trouble getting to some of the other cars on the train, the structure, terminal is not safe. so they'll have crews that pull away some of the debris and hope

and at least one hacking attempt was successful. johnson's announcement comes after at least 20 states report some form of attempted hacking on their voter registration database. something we're just learning, the 14-year-old south carolina boy accused of killing his father and wounding three people in a school shooting has been charged as a juvenile. he's charged with three counts of attempted murder. the judge ordered the teen continue to b time. he's accused of killing his father before driving to a nearby school and starting to shoot during a recess. two students and a teacher were shot. one of those students, a 6-year-old boy, is still in critical condition. a littleton man is in the hospital after suffering stab wounds this morning. police say he was found near an apartment complex on bellevue avenue. police are investigating what led up to the stabbing.

mission success. it did exactly what it was supposed to do, crash landed on a comet today, ending a 12-year mission. as it closed in on the comet, rosette took a last series of scientific measurements. in the coming days, a lot of information from that will make its way back to us here on earth. it is friday. it's fix this friday. our crew is going to join us fall projects and we're going to talk about tips to give your windows a streak-free shine.

. good afternoon, everyone. welcome back. here we are at the booth of aurora. what do you think so far? >> it's wonderful. they gave me this rescue helmet. someone needs to rescue me from judging all this chili. there is a lot. >> we only have a few more booths to go. >> six it's absolutely beautiful weather to be eating this chili. temperatures are only going to get into the 70s. we're going to have mostly cloudy skies, but this afternoon there will be a chance for showers. the temperatures feel very comfortable in the high country. in the 50s and 40s. the highs for today are going to be in the mid to upper 70s along i-20. temperatures in the mountains in the 60s. and speaking of high school football, we have taylor here,

chance for showers. skies will be mostly cloudy and i would take the poncho and also take the sweater with you because temperatures by the end of the game are going to be in the 50s. i know you love the poncho, cory. showers in the forecast. mainly scattered for the high country. but through the afternoon, we're going to have the snow level drop to about 8,000 feet. that means we can see one to two inches of snow accumulating above 8,000 feet, but no around here skies will be mostly cloudy, chance of showers possibly for the afternoon commute. around 7:00, maybe light rain close to the foothills and central and southern valleys. skies tomorrow morning will be partly cloudy. the heavier pockets of rain will be falling in the high country and foothills, while here in the city, the weather looking kind of dry. 51 our overnight low. and check out the weekend. a chance for isolated showers tomorrow with a high of 78.

with a high of 83 and then a big cool-down arrives for next week on tuesday and wednesday with the temperatures dropping into the 60s. having a good time out here. how are those firefighters doing? they're having a great time and this is the reason why. of course everyone is coming out to support the foundation. what chili do you have here? >> we've been through about 50 booths or so to judge, but making our way. we only have six left. >> and we're still going to be out here -- not us, but this will be going on until 3:00. >> she said just 6, but mind you some of them can have up to four chilis. technically we could have a long way to go. >> what's the best part for you about all this? >> i think it's meeting all these different fire crews from all over really the state and beyond. there is even a crew here from texas and they put too much love into this event and raising money. it's just a beautiful thing to

. welcome back. federal health officials say pregnant women should avoid traveling to certain parts of sout outbreaks. the cdc suggests women consider postponing non essential travel to 11 countries in that area including philippines, thailand, vietnam. a number of u.s. travelers became infected within the last year from these areas. we have to share this next story. pam perz is making it's smallest diaper ever for the premature babies.

you have them on your christmas tree, you can use them for thanksgiving as cards or at weddings. >> fall leaves. we rake them, jump in them, but you can also preserve them. >> preserve leaves in a day. place the leaves between two pieces of wax paper. fresher leaves work best for this process. use a warm iron to seal the wax sheets together. this will take two minutes on each side depending on how moist the leaf is. once you finished one side, flip the leaf over and iron the other. remove the top layer of the wax paper, use mod podge to seal the leaves. brush it on or use a spray. let the topside dry and flip the leaves over and repeat.
