he says clinton understands the challenges communities in poverty are facing. over the weekend, clinton visited a charlotte church to talk about racial tensions in america. unarmed black man, was shot and killed charlotte two weeks ago. tomorrow, clinton will be campaigning with bernie sanders the black man shot by police in north carolina will be laid to rest this week. a wake for keith scott will be held on wednesday.. his funeral is thursday. police maintain that scott had a gun and refused to drop it before officers shot and killed him.. the officer who shot scott also was black. scott's death sparked violent protests in charlotte. police released video of that shooting and photos showing marijuana, a holster and gun.

there were two more officer involved shootings over the weekend. one in st louis and the other in los angeles on sunday. protesters were out in l-a fter an 18-year old was shot dead by police. l-a-p-d says they tried pulling over a car when the driver refused to stop. the driver led them on a chase before a passenger got out and ran into the back of a home. 18-year-old carnell snell, junior was shot by police and later died. police have not yet released details about what led up no officers were hurt. in saint louis, protesters are calling for all officers to wear body cameras... after a 14 -year old african american boy was shot by white police officers sunday morning. officers say they were searching for a stolen car involved in a carjacking. police stopped to talk to a teenager. the teen, who was armed, ran away into a vacant lot. police say he fired a shot. they shot back. the 14-year-old is in

today is the beginning of national community policing week. attorney general loretta lynch says recent violence against officers made her aware of the need for more officers on the streets. and today, she's expected reveal- 119-million dollars that will go towards hiring new officers across the country. other events during the week include a town hall discussion on diversity in policing and an awards ceremony. state troopers are calling a crash in arapahoe county "horrible and devastating" 5-people were killed when an s-u-v rolled over and caught fire on sunday morning. it happened on east county line road and monarch... southeast of southlands mall - near delbert road. investigators haven't released any information about the victims. a man apparently trying to find his ex-girlfriend... was shot and killed over the weekend--after he broke into a wheat ridge apartment. police haven't identified him yet... but say he and the man living in the apartment shot at

was hit. he died at the hospital. wheat ridge police says the intruder's ex-girlfriend had been at the apartment visiting her current boyfriend. police say charges aren't likely. haiti is in the path of a monster storm. hurricane matthew is a cateogory four storm... forecasters say it will have a "catastrophic impact" on haiti today. many areas there are still struggling to recover from the earthquake in 2010. matthew is expected to dump mudslides. the hurricane already triggered flooding in jamaica... and cuba is preparing for a direct hit.

up next the atlanta falcons, in denver next sunday afternoon. adlib a 16-year-old is waking up with a little more encouragement - it came from a super bowl champ and future hall of famer, peyton manning. peyton linafelter was diagnosed with cancer - on her 16th birthday. it was ovarian cancer, one of the most lethal - in women. peyton became one of the youngest patients in the us to be diagnosed, according to her doctor. in the six months since then, she's fought hard through chemo. u-c health helped arrange a phone call between peyton--- and peyton. and she was all smiles. she also got a signed jersey and helmet. better yet - peyton's latest
