>> yes, ma'am. our temperatures can break a record high. we are talking about 80s when we should be close to the mid 60s. the record today is 89 degrees. we are forecasting a high of 85. temperatures along the corridor will be similar. closer to the foothills, right now we have pleasant conditions with 70s on the map. northern colorado is cooler with 50s. this is what we have going over colorado right now. all the clouds look really ominous. it's going to be a dry day. we have high clouds increasing from the northwest from a storm system causing all kinds of problems in the pacific northwest. we are getting the clouds and the wind from the storm system.

good afternoon everyone. happy friday. no, it is not just you. it has been a warm october so far. as far as we're already in the middle of the month almost, the temperatures so far have reached about 56 degrees overall for the month. that makes it the 8th warmest october on record. if we can take a look at the

actually, wrong graphic. i got it. the forecast today calls for temperatures rising into the mid 80s. that can be tying or breaking a record high. here is what i wanted to show you. we are at the 8th warmest october on record. with that warm weather that we're going to have today plus little to no rain across the state and some strong winds, we are talking about high fire danger across colorado. we are at 78 degrees at d.i.a. and in the temperatures are coming in at 75. let's check the weather with the rest of the state. we've got temperatures in the high country in the 60s and 50s, 40s in gunnison, warm in lower elevations and the eastern plains where temperatures are in the 70s and even 80s. fast forward to this afternoon, we will have mid 80s in the city, 92 in ray. in the mountains 60s, western

winds will increase as well is because we have a strong area of low pressure or storm working out of the pacific northwest bringing a lot of rain. the difference in high pressure for us and that low pressure is causing the wind gradient to become tired. that's the reason we will see the winds gradually increase during the day in the mountains and eventually on the front range. the rain forecast for our friends in the northwest is significant. we are looking at accumulations possibly through wednesday afternoon at about nine inches near med ford oregon. we have reports of tornadoes reported because of the unstable weather conditions. back in colorado, our forecast besides being dry and windy is going to be pretty mild and warm too. 3:30 this afternoon, partly cloudy, a break from the clouds later today through this evening. we are still seeing clouds close to the foothills and along i-25 because of strong winds in foothills.
